    The insulators are beautiful...we lived a mile out of town and dad worked on the railroad. Dad got alot of insulators made a walk way with them, they were buried all you could see was the round tops. As kids we laid on our belly's and looked through the glass, clear, blue, yellow and red. I'm 60 years old and remember that like it was yesterday, came from a family of 16 kids could you imagine 6 or 7 of us laying on our stomachs looking through the glass. When I was about 5 or 6 such good old days to remember.

    The insulators were a blast from the past. I remember my dad and his cousin talking about how there were so many of them when they took them off the telephone poles. The cousin said he saw mountains of them in the telephone company dumps. He said that they would be valuable someday and he wished he could have gotten some of them. My dad agreed, and said some places had given them to anyone who asked. I haven't thought about that for years, and seeing the insulators brought the memories back. I love your videos even though I am reminded of my age frequently.

    Renee your normal glass insulators there are quite different than those up here. As well those darker colours are great. With glass, some folks take a glass drill bit and drill through the insulator from the top, then wire in a socket and put a lightbulb in it. Makes a nice cluster of lights. Great finds and that piece with brass leaves and fruit I hope you kept it of sold it. Even broken it is a nice decorative piece!

    The tins with the white metal pieces are various curtain rod hangers. The white acrylic "clips" are used at the bottom of window shades as the pull.

  • @deannamarie4149
    @deannamarie4149 4 ปีที่แล้ว +30

    They use a sealer on Hercules Candy videos to seal candy bags... I think the acrylic clip things are for roller shades.... The Pyrex thing that you thought was for a lab, is actually a candle. Fill it with water, then put 2 inches of cooking oil on it. Then there were plastic disk things that held a wick.... my mom sat on on top of our TV... cat got curious knocked it over and it spilled into the back of the TV.... it was great!!! ☮

    I'm glad your ' favorite house ' Renee put out more black bags... and you took ALL of them. Based on past experience... it is totally worth digging thru a whole bag because so far almost every one has at least ' 1 treasure ' by the time you finish digging. And it's usually Vintage because they saved everything for years.
    *I'm hoping you get around to my box reveal this weekend. I have multiple other boxes to send also but wanted to get a feel for what you really like and can reuse or resell.

    Great haul the pyrex is a candle from the 70s there would be a plastic disk with a wick oin it. You would fill it with water then add oil add the plastic disk thee light the wick. Crafters would go nuts over some of the items in your tins. If postage wasnt so bad i would buy a coupld.

    I think the clear plastic things were pull down handles for the old pull down blinds that had the wavey bottom with the fringe. It would also have a small piece of wood that the clear thing slid over to use to protect the plastic and white blind while you pulled them down or sent them back up. Some people used them and some didn't. The little ceramic thing that you said had a sticker on it might be hand painted and was a toothpick holder. The wicker pig was adorable. You found so many good items. Thank you for bringing so many memories back to me through the items you find. Stay safe and God Bless
