If 4d for each 45 degree bend then how IS 2502 calculate 20d for 90 degree bend stirrups

One doubt sir..
Already we calculated the Ld so it's the full length we have to provide ..so simply we can bend the remaining length after reach to end of the member..again why we have to calculate to Anchorage length
Awesome question...let say 1 unit force is coming to the bar. Now remaining length after reach to the end of the member is only one unit. So bearing stress on concrete is force(1)/(length(1)*dia(1))=1. But say allowable bearingstress on concrete is 0.5. so if length is twice it is ok. So, here bearing stress come into the picture.
Why dont we check reinfocement in fixed end beams and columns for pull-out and splitting failure?
Pull out check should be done if tension in the bar is too much high which normally doesn't arise in the beam column junction.

Bonding depends on the grade of steel and concrete only.

For the same reason of why passive earth pressure is more than active earth pressure.
