"I want you to know? Your a good Engineer(Your work speaks for you.). I like listen to you, and I like how you simplify your explanations. Know that your credibility is well respected at all levels." 👍
For those confused about the crank length as 0.42d instead of 1.42d, keep in mind that d is already included in the overall bar length (without the crank bend). So, we are just counting the ADDITIONAL length cause by the bend. Also, the crank angle is 45 degrees, forming a 1,1, 1.42 triangle.
I have lost passion for what I studied and forgotten most of the basics, but as you have usually come through for us during our school days at the Polytechnic. Your videos are giving me momentum to learning again. #kudos once again Sir 🙏.

good column , footing , beam & slab bars cutting length rule , crank length calculation , cover concrete , ties dia , bar dia , bar weight # but in bar number calculation formula is , as i understand , not the opposite side length , it is perpendicular side length is considered #👍👍
Great explanation sir but I just need clarification on finding the weight of the bar. The diameter is in mm and there is m in the formula. A mismatch of units, I know that a conversion is required there. Please clarify that 🙏🏽
Now for cutting length of crank / bent up bar You said L + 2(crank lenght) But sir cutting lenght is given by this formula ... L + 2( development lenght) + 2(crank lenght) - [(2×90° bend)+4(45° bend)]
Refer to IS 2502 1963, If the angle with horizontal is 45 degree or less, then we don't need to deduct the bend while calculating the cutting length. There is not any 90degree bend mentioned in the shape which I have shown here that's why I didn't deduct any 90degree bend and one more thing, by L I mean effective span + development length or you can use the general formula....But remember, you don't need to deduct any bend less or equal to 45degrees.....Hope you got the answer to your query. Regards!
Thank you for this video sir 🙏, i have a task by my college teacher about the comparison of strength in beam with one using crank bar and the other is not using the crank bar. The common thing that happens in my country Indonesia is that people usually did not apply the crank bar in the beam construction. Therefore me and my friends are wanting to see is that the beam Will increase the strength of the beam or not if we adding the crank bar to the beam. Can you help me sir? I really want to know the comparison of these two beam 🙏
The crank bars or bent-up bars are essential in R.C.C beam or slab construction because without countering the Hogging (Negative moment), the structure will fail, or the strength of the structure will reduce. The hogging bending moment will develop at the supports of the slabs and beams. Hope the answer. ~From Kashmir-The Paradise on Earth

Hi i sbill c
Someone pay this man, best video I've ever watched on youtube, worth the watch, like and subscription

Also, the crank angle is 45 degrees, forming a 1,1, 1.42 triangle.
In crank bar cutting length,is needed to add 4 bend value ?
Why did he skipped that part. L+0.42d+0.42d is completely wrong if tried to understand as he says.
I have lost passion for what I studied and forgotten most of the basics, but as you have usually come through for us during our school days at the Polytechnic. Your videos are giving me momentum to learning again. #kudos once again Sir 🙏.

Hello Sir.
Thank you So much.

Great explanation sir but I just need clarification on finding the weight of the bar. The diameter is in mm and there is m in the formula. A mismatch of units, I know that a conversion is required there.
Please clarify that 🙏🏽
The conversion is already done by using the denominator factor
You should explain it using the real life rods that are used. For Ex: 8mm, 10mm, 16mm.
