I appreciate the simple clickbait free reviews this channel posts. Every time other channels post reviews of games released in 2000s/2010s they usually put some obnoxious quote like "most bland X" or "budget version of Y". Very refreshing to see a professional title, even if the videos probably don't get a lot of views as a result.
I loved adding my own mp3 songs to the playlist in the utility mech. And the best part was that this music played even as you exited it, so you could still hear it in the distance heavily muffled.
I liked the part where you spent time repairing equipment and mining for T-ENG, roleplaying as a space-miner, more than the combat, which says a lot about the game. But then again, I'm the type of person who put 200 hours into Death Stranding delivering packages. LP3 was just a weaker Gears of War clone that stripped away the grappling hook's combat utility and VS Suit combat, relegating both of them to traversal only.
i love how this video is in the spirit of the old IGN, GameTrailers or Gamespot reviews and it even behaves as if the game just came out and people care about it incredible stuff :D
What I missed the most in this game is that you can only use the grappling hook on specific structures, while in the other games you could always evade by grappling anywhere you wanted.
Your uploads always time perfectly with the various games I become interested in and today just so happens to be Lost Planet 3. You will always be one of my all time favorite creators and if I had a podcast I'd record a JRE length episode with you, so many questions and so much praise.
I do recommend a different game from the people who made this one, a game called Legendary. It's always been one of my favorites due to its strong level design and music. Despite its flaws, the level design is indeed very strong. As for this game itself, I feel like its facial animations is significantly better than most games of its time, even many of them today. There's a lot of well-written and well-acted dialogue, too, though I don't think the story is ultimately that strong, its presentation is. It's a shame the fights against humans turns out to be so bland, as otherwise I quite liked the fighting against aliens during the start of the game. The utility rig is quite immersive and the sections with them were enjoyable. The MP3 function is quite nice, wish more games did that. MGSV did it well, too. Sound design is really, really, really good, and the music is good too. I appreciated the additional in-game options, such as free-aiming over a locked crosshair.
i loved lost planet 2 and hate this game, the levels are bland and the story was never the focus of lost planet so making the third game story heavy and destroying the fun gameplay is like turning doom into a telltale game
I thought this game was ok when I played it. I really wish they had kept the suits and the thermal energy mechanics, it felt like a pretty generic third person shooter without it. The level design was fine but like you said, just felt empty and hollow. This is a series I would love to get a sequel that sticks more to the first two’s roots.
Lost Planet 3 did something for me that the Mass Effect games never could. I don't know how to describe it other than to say Lost Planet 3 has a personal touch that most other "dashing space rogue saves the universe once again" type titles just can't hold on to. It feels grounded and relatable. I think maybe it's a game I occassionally feel the need to replay for the same reasons that I sometimes feel the need to rewatch the first half of James Cameron's Avatar. The storytelling is just... solid. It's nothing fancy and it's not trying to be. The series as a whole already sold me on the core premise -- space miners, resource wars, alien buggy bois. What more does a man want???
thanks for the review, its an old game needs a more recent review. Hope that the PC version Of Lost Planet 1, and 2 get patched up so they dont need Windows Live.
I liked the idea of the level design but running back and forth in the station was badly designed. The open area design was cool but as you mentioned the missions were lacking and when you got to the pirates base that to was kinda uninspired .
This game was a disappointment for me, it just felt like playing gears of war 3 again, I mean if you think about it the Acrid are just the Lambent from Gears of War.
So this game comes from a period when Capcom thought that giving away their games to be developed by Westerners would somehow increase their sales in the West.
I remember I enjoyed this game, however, I don't remember what I enjoyed besides the story lol. Nothing was bad, I know that much from my time through it.
@@sukamadik5983 Make us whole. I really do think this is a good game though, its in my catalog for games I annually revisit. Give it another shot and stop being a stiff wanker, touch grass b*tch. just kidding love ya.
I think you're being way too generous. I was all ready to defend this garbage because of it's charming script but just as Jim came to E.D.N.III to work, the more you play it that's exactly what it feels like, a tedious job. The combat is pure jank and the graphics (on Xbox 360) are shit. When the best thing about your game is the script, you know you done goofed.

Yeah, I remember that quite fondly.
Such a great feature

Jack Wall's soundtrack is incredible

Sooooo true. Easily the best part of the earlier games. Felt very freeform in the movement and gameplay.

The sound design was also pretty great. I love it when games dare to be loud and the stomps of the mech could be felt.
No, the guns sounded like they all had suppressors and don’t get me started on the explosion sound effects
i'm glad to see a review of a old game, seriusly
I don't mind spoilers. Love your reviews, bro. Keep them coming 😎💪🏻
The only thing I remember about this game was how everyone said the main character looks like Nicolas Cage.
Nicolas Cage from wish!
More like Troy Baker!! lol
It helps that the writers of this game went on to write for God of War 2018.
They're not aliens if you are on their planet...lol
Technically are if you're not native to the planet! haha

Hey what happened to your Painkiller videos?
I wonder if the developers read a lot of Jack London and his stories about survival in brutal frigid wastelands.

Odd changes compared from the previous games but it can work like the god of war series

avatar hahahahahahahahaha amazing storytelling, superb! hahaha
I've been playing this one recently: it's more up my alley than the previous two but i quit it due to blandness.
So I guess EX Troopers is next on the list.

They made four games, but one is Japan only.

Can I play any of the Lost Planet games on PS Now or Xbox BC?
The trilogy is backwards compatible on X1 and Series X/S. No idea about PSNow.

Why do you think we haven’t seen another Lost Planet game?
It's okay Capcoms new dinosaur game essentially looks like Lost Planet.
People that bought this a full price hated it but if you can get it for dirt cheap I guess it is a fun romp for a few hours. Love the review though 👍
Does it have coop and is it capped at 30 or 60 fps?
Was an OK game...
Final boss though was totally SH*T

Are you going to make a video on lost planet exo troopers?
