- Gaming Pastime reviews Red Faction: Armageddon for PC.
Developed by Volition and published by THQ in association with the TV network Syfy, Red Faction: Armageddon was released for PC in June, 2011. Red Faction: Armageddon marks another change in direction for the series but also proves to be a very good time.

You should do a roundup at the end of every year ranking all the games you played that year. Mortismal gaming does that and its usually pretty good, it helps people play the cream of the crop and avoid the stinkers
Good idea
I would watch this.
This channel and Mortismal are my two fav game review channels. I wonder how much of an audience they share.
A somewhat underrated game.
Nah, this game was solid as fuck. Just a solid game. I enjoyed it a lot.
And Ironically, it singularity cannon is straight from Quake 4 Dark Matter Gun.
@@mr.pointman1930 and even better here because of the destruction. The weapons in this game are some of the best of all time honestly
Everyone always trashed this game, and I think it was because during this era linear story shooters were just everywhere, and going from open world to linear was seen as a step down. But now that the opposite has become true, and every game that is released is open world, a game like this actually is much appreciated. I think most people who disliked this game should re-evaluate it today and they will find that it's surprisingly really good. Like, aside from the destruction in guerilla, everything else was pretty much mediocre at best. The visuals, the story, the acting, the variety. its completely dependent on it's god tier physics destruction. This game maintains the same destruction but gives it characters, story, set pieces, and looks quite more distinguished. It honestly fixes all the problems with it's predecessor.
They need to remaster this for current gen consoles.
Gears of... Mars ⚙
Ever notice how Red Faction slowly changed direction from a first-person-shooter for the PC, to a third-person-horde-shooter pushed onto the consoles? 🎮
I just wish someone would REMAKE the first game, like with System Shock or Dead Space. 💯
The first one is definitely the coolest, and would be the best template for a hypothetical next game. But I do think that it found it's niche with guerilla and helped make it more memorable. Most people don't actually remember the original that much, aside from being a sci fi half life with interesting primitive geomod destruction. And if anything. Armageddon is the closest to the original than any of the other ones in terms of story and progression. The original red faction had aliens not that different from in the 4th game too
I completely forgot there was a movie
I actually watched the movie when it came out and apart from liquid terminator playing the older main character of the third game i remember nothing about it. And, my god, that stupid ending of the game, when in the beginning the air machine was destroied and everyone had to live underground for several years and in the end mc used the tech to fix the air machine... the same tech he already had on the day the machine was broken when he was there.
Review the saboteur game
I remember being disappointed there was no real driving but the action was pretty fun from memory.
Instant flashbacks of Mr. Toots the unicorngun you can unlock, goofy times :D
Did anyone else notice the Decent reticle around 8:53 when he was in the hover mech?
+1
Guess what volition made before the red faction games ;)
To this day nothing compares to the destruction in this game. Its a very fun game
this game was s hit great video
I remember this game, and I enjoyed it myself. Not as much as Red Faction: Guerilla, though.
Thanks to the woke mob for ruining the Saints Row franchise and causing Volition to close its doors as a result. We will probably never see another proper Saints Row or Red Faction game. Maybe something similar, many can hope, but they'd never replace those games.
Great video as always. I shyed away from this one because I found Guerilla to a very boring open world. Just deserts that were there just to make travel from one spot to the next boring. I should try it again. You did encourage me to try this one out as well, so thank you! Side note, you should look into a pop filter for your mic. 😉
I remember falling in love with this year's ago an watching the companion mini series on the Syfi channel. Loved this game, the camera, physics, atmosphere. Simple but super fun. Loved the horde mode too, was always kinda spooky
What is your opinion about that movie?
I know you are not a movie review channel, but i am curious.
(And would appreciate a little review video even more *hint hint *)
I never knew of its existence until now
This game had a lot of greatness. Modded it could be perfect, some truly awesome aggressive arena designs and enemy designs
Remove the assault rifle and weapon limit, increase movement speed and the game is great; Even without all of those, just play without the assault rifle and rely on a more aggressive playstyle with hammer executions and the game becomes a blast
Is this better than Binary Domain or Mass Effect (gameplay wise)?
I really enjoyed this one.
Weird game but it was fun. Just didn't feel that much like Red Faction. I still need to go back and finish it on hard.
i loved this game
Man, I was so unbelievably excited for this game just before release. I was so heavily dissapointed. Still am a little just because it killed the franchise.
Please review the assassin's creed series
The tragedy of franchise death by this game. It will be great, if they make JUST single player with coop to continue the series. But that wasn't going to occur since Voiltion is gone.
i ended up just running through the levels to finish them as fast as possible
You don't believe this game killed the Red Faction series?
Nope. They just quit as publisher tell them to do so. In order to focus Saints Row. If it wasn't Woke culture and Feminist with Punk influence. Voilition will still exist today.
This game sucked, i remembered when we heard of a sequel. Then we got this instead of a better version of red faction guerilla 😢
Ask the Publisher. They are the one come up with this with several delay release. Also, RIP Voilition all thanks to Woke Culture and Feminism.
@@mr.pointman1930 true, I want the days of jacked bald men being protagonists in games to come back. Gears of war, red faction guerilla, call of duty, and others.
@@umadbroimatroll7918 Too bad, that won't occur for a very long time. Which only Indie game can do it but not without relaying on donation to make those successors.
Interesting, so the series started as a Half-Life ripoff and ended as a Gears of War ripoff, talk about the lack of identity...
Nice technology but an unfortunately typical TPS. The bugs are no fun to fight zipping around like flies on meth. Improving on the open world formula of Guerrilla may have been a better bet.
Environments in dis game look EXTREMELY generic
10:48 WHAT?!!!!!!!!!!9
Been watching for a while now, this was the first title to have never crossed my path and I’ll be doing a play through now. Love your videos, thank you for accompanying me through so many stories and worlds 🫶🏻
