I work at a collision shop in Michigan I have met the owner of the other 300 here in Detroit he showed me the hell cat car the motor came from I think it was a green challenger that had been rear ended and totaled but no damage to the front he bought the wreck for 9000 thus got a hell cat motor for only 9000 and put it in the 300 here in the D he is a tow truck driver no wonder he found such a great deal.

the trick is to find an auction hellcat or damaged, or ebay pullout turnkey complete. thats my plans, is much cheaper than piece by piecing a 5.7 engine. shoutout to a fellow fedex worker, and pulling this off. that car deserves that 30-35k
No way! That motor probably has 90.000 miles of nothing but continuous 5000 to 7000RPMS on it, same with the trans. The car itself looks like a clapped hood banger worth about 2k! And who knows how many hidden gremlins are on this thing?? Not even close to being worth 30k. Now for 14k I'd take a chance on it. Just because the motor would be worth dumping some doe into for a rebuild.

That would of been a waste of money, 1st gen SRTs ain't cheap and considering 100% of the drivetrain from front to back needs to be swapped it just makes no sense. All he needs to do is swap the front and rear bumpers and the front headlights and boom it will look just like an SRT8 but this man was smart and used either a 2.7 or 3.5 V6 300 which goes for around 600-800 bucks instead of destroying a 12-15k first gen 300C SRT8 and throwing 100% of it's drivetrain in the trash or selling it for pennies on the dollar.

He probably had to swap out the back skeleton for the dashboard to make the newer model dashboard fit.
