Steamdeck + Emudeck = Retro Heaven
Bloody love you two talking! Absolute crime you don't have more followers...
Really glad you enjoy our content!!
Emulation is easily the majority of where I spend my handheld time. I have a server at home that is pretty much dedicated to hold all my ROMs. The Steamdeck quickly became the perfect addition to my emulation addiction
This might sound stupid, but when you say you have a 'server', are you streaming your games from a sever or do you just mean you have them stored on a hard drive? Just trying to figure out whether this is something I could do.
@@paradoxsilverwood12 I have a NAS. I have it saved as a network drive on my Steamdeck. Transfer ROMs back and forth that way.
16:08 Exactly. Now imagine this Nintendo makes a PC launcher where you can buy any of their old games to play on PC with achievements, mods, save states etc.
This is all they need to do, they can keep the modern games for their current Switch and Switch 2. But this PC launcher will be for old games for systems they don't sell anymore, up to say the wii u and everything before it
I MEAN COME ON right!?!?!? This would totally work for them
PS. I love Star Fox Adventures too. I got it off a kid for $5 when we were young
That would be amazing wouldn't it! We can dream. I don't see Nintendo doing it but who knows in future! Glad there's another Star Fox Adventures fan yessss!
Nintendo hates money simple as that some of their moves are just baffling
This is the first vid of yours I've watched.... it's entertaining and accessible, plus it's got me interested in Emudeck for sure 👍🏻🙂
The perfect episode to pique my curiosity for this device, thanks, guys!
You're welcome! It's such an amazing bit of kit!
Its one of the reasons why I gotten a steam deck in the first place is its emulation capabilities and so far I enjoying my experience.
Mindblowing information on one, guys! 🤯🤯🤯
Great vid got me super hyped to get my first deck soon (OLED)
oh you will LOVE it
I subscribed because of the nintendont comment…well done 👍🏼
Got one a few weeks ago and have all the emulators working. Being able to play Switch, Xbox, PS3, Dreamcast, and many many more is AMAZING. If anyone needs free rom websites, let me know. 😊
Is yuzu still downloadable ?
@@michaelandrews2784The download is there in the wild somewhere keep searching.
It is amazing man feel's good to have all those consoles on the go especially PS3 that still blow's my mind I can take them on the go.
@@michaelandrews2784 No just use Ryujynx which is pretty much the same thing. Currently playing Zelda Totk and XenoBlade Chronicles 1 with no issues.
@@GoofyPoptart Same here bro.
This thing is so epic!
What you're noticing in Wind Waker is the DoF being disabled. For whatever reason it only works at native res. It's a clearer picture, so if you like it you like it. Personally I'd only play the WiiU Wind waker if you're going for looks.
Since the update 2 months ago dolphin isn’t detecting my steam deck controller or my wireless bitdo controller. Anyone know how to fix this? I’ve reinstalled/updated dolphin and I’ve tried some other tweaks but I can’t get any controller to work
The issue that i have with all of these devices is battery life and the tedious, endless, optimisation required to play any game.
Exactly! Dedicated emulator devices I find to be such a faff and a bit janky too, steam deck is the total opposite. We've got a video of exactly this coming soon 😅
how about online connection? does it work?
Are you going to review the neo s controller by CRKD?
Yes!
I could play FE Path of Radiance via my Wii but it's true, it looks so much better on my SD. Same for Radiant Dawn.
In your personal opinion would you rate the Steam deck over the asus handheld PC and the lenovo handheld PC? Does windows run ok on the steam deck too? I'm new to this and there is so much to learn.
Steam Deck is infinitely more supported by both Valve and the community. Steam Deck is much easier to get into it you're new to PC gaming for sure
Nintendon't, good one, great times at Wii scene.
I must be a moron cause I can’t figure out hot to get emudeck working. Mostly finding the roms/bios files and then figuring out where to put them
google r/roms megathread
you use shaders to change the way gba/sprite based games look
Yes! I forgot to discuss that
Starfox adventure is an amazing game 🙌
Does EmuDeck include DuckStation, please?
The latter is an excellent PS1 emulator
yes
@@danielsouza8039 Thanks!
Ok, but how's setting up BIOS files any easier with EmuDeck? I've been trying to set up Switch emulation for days now without luck.
Where do I get the roms?
You can use I2P.
This is what I want to no lol
Steam deck does what nintendon't...😂
Howard stern and the steam deck= the self-acclaimed Kings of "-ations"
I’m not savvy with all this emulation and pc stuff. I’d rather hire an expert to install Emudeck on my Steam Deck.
You don't need to be, that's why there are guides out there
Steamdeck + Emudeck > Switch 2
15:36 ? sneaky
That was actually unintentional 😅 I missed that in the edit, oops! Good spot!
@@128KB haha I thought it was a secret giveaway at first. No worries. Thanks for the content you make. Keep up the good work!
Yeah, but can it play the Pepsi-man game?
YES! This is my game!
Of course it can just find the rom.
@@GoofyPoptart Find the ISO... Discs don't have ROMs - they're from cartridges :)
They have broken sea of thieves on the steamdeck 😢
I always enjoy watching the tech impaired half of the world marveling over the smallest thing that has been a thing for years now. And then watching them lose their crap about messing with the bios, even though nothing could be easier and safer as long as you follow instructions. Too funny.
Nah, ROG ALLY is better. Nice try though.
In your opinion 👍 I wouldn't be adverse to having an Ally but Steam Deck does everything I want it to do.
I really don't understand all the steamdeck fanboys.
I bought one for $2200 aud when they weren't available in my country.
I was super excited but now that I've had one for a long time I find it awful.
It doesn't run current triple A games
It doesn't run gamepass
Epic game store games are a pain to get running
Yuzu no longer works so my switch games no longer work
And going to the desktop is the worst experience of any os. I even prefer mac os to Linux. To b3 fair I'm a Windows user my entire life.
So I bought a lenovo go and every and anything I want to play runs great. No messing around with emudeck etc.
I'm glad the steamdeck exsists because now we have lots of handhelds being made, but steamdeck, that's not it champ!
All fair points. It's not for everyone, especially if like you, you come from PC gaming background. But for those more casual and console gamers it offers a lot for the money. For the entry point into good hanheld gaming and the Steam Library it's hard to question, but of course the more premium offerings from Asus and Lenovo are going to be better.
You could use something like 'suyu' instead of yuzu. Similar emulator and it works well on the steam deck. And as for Steam OS, it's based on the arch linux distro (where you configure most things yourself) so it's more lightweight compared to windows.
