Craftsman 27” Dual Stage Snowblower
Excited to try out this snow blower this winter and see how well it works!
Let me know what you guys think about the generator and the noise it’s making. I’m going to upload a short here with it making the sound.

Here’s why this Stihl Trimmer didn’t run right!
มุมมอง 39ปีที่แล้ว
This morning I rebuilt a carburetor for a FS111RX trimmer. The engine was surging and would throttle up by itself which screams carburetor issues. Pulled it off and installed a rebuild kit. The part number for the kit is Z010 001 K017
Stihl Hedge Trimmer… End of life?

Quick breakdown of what I found with this HS82R. After the video we opted to take some measurements of the piston ring and order a new one as our ring end gap is far too large. Cylinder walls didn’t look too bad and for $10 it’s worth a shot to see if we can gain even 20 or 30 PSI back which would give this engine a shot at life again. Will keep you up to date on this
Here’s how to troubleshoot a leaking carburetor!

I always check these 3 things when dealing with a problematic carburetor that’s leaking fuel into the engine or air filter. #smallengine #smallenginerepair #carburetor

Great score today and I’m not complaining about how easy of a fix this was but sometimes it’s nice to work for it too. Grateful it was this simple. Carb was immaculate when I bought it, didn’t even need to clean it out. I also bought another water pump today and not sure what’s wrong with it. I haven’t done any testing or work on it. I’ll be sure to record the diagnosis and troubleshooting of t...
Broken pull cord? Here’s how to rebuild the recoil starter on your Stihl trimmer!

Hope this helps. It’s pretty in depth so this won’t apply to everyone but hopefully covers almost all bases when it comes to rebuilding and cleaning up your Stihl Recoil Starter Assembly

This one racked my brain over the weekend but slept on it and got it sorted out this morning. I want to add that the customer had left this blower sitting for a while after the issue with previous shops and insisted we put a new carburetor in it. I can’t stand throwing parts at a machine in a desperate attempt to fix an issue. Thanks for watching. Next up will be how to take apart and rebuild a...

NOTE: I misspoke at 5:49, piston should be at Top Dead Center not BDC This was a fun one! Really enjoyed doing this rebuild and hoping in the future I can get a better setup where I can record a tear down and rebuild of an engine like this. Stay tuned I’ve got a lot more content coming soon Timing belt for this engine (your belt will have the model printed on it) Genuine OEM Honda 14400-Z8B-003...
Here’s why fuel is leaking out of your small engine’s carburetor!

I’ll record in landscape mode next time whoops, you can tell I never record stuff This was a first for me to see, although I’d heard of it happening before. Let me be clear when I say that these Amazon replacement carbs work just fine. You don’t typically see issues with those replacements and for the average person it makes way more sense financially to replace the carb with a Chinese clone ve...

Do you know the carburetors model or part number. I've got the same carburetor on my Tecumseh legend 3.8 1500 psi pressure washer. Thank you
Good tips. Thanks 👍
It is a dry sump crank case
Ty. I subscribe. Will try these out.
Whered you start!?
Curious for a non small engine mechanic can you clean the needle jet?
thank you so much you helped massively explaining why i was getting flooding issues! the vent was blocked was giving me a huge headache trying to work out the problem.... subbed
@@arronjohnston742 happy to help Arron!
@@blakefindlay1870 i watched a few videos before yours none talked about the breather hole an i was about to buy a new carb so yes you helped massively👍
well explained thanks man,
I've had brand new aftermarket carbs leak and I'm wondering why. It will leak intermittently so I think the float is actually sometimes getting hung up on the metal casting. The metal casting that houses the main jet....that's all I can think of because needle is brand new and there should be no varnish whatsoever in the area where the seat is hanging up the needle intermittently... Have you ever had issues with aftermarket brand new carbs leaking?
Great👍
Got s new 670 predator and it floods gas into the box and want run. Pulled the carb off, clean it with carb cleaner, ran for a few seconds died. Tried cranking it agin it just keeps pouring fuel in the air box again.. it shouldn't being doing this on a new engine.. i will definitely check the seat.. crazy, the float level is gooe. Thats why i dont like Chinese engines.
Mine is doing the same. Brand new 😢
Problem fixed . It was a vent tube
@jeffnations6649 vent tube was clogged? Was this a brand new engine with brand new carb doing this?
@@macknumber9 yes and yes. It was a small piece of rubber on the vent tube that didn't get cut off from the factory.
So your gas tank being too high could cause problems?
Thank you for the heads up
so if it isn’t the 2 things you talked about what else can it be
This was EXCELLENT help. Thanks so much!
I swapped out my old carb on my briggs for a new one and the new one leaked after a shut off motor...i took appart and noticed it used this new style of needle vs old style which had a solid metal needle which seat on a tiny oring seal rather than this type which seats on brass since needle has rubber tip...any way i ended up using old carb...i may try new carb again next week wheni cut my grass, but not sure why it leaked will check it out more thoroughly before i try it again...thanks
I'm getting ready to see why my carb leaks in a Coleman generator and will definitely be looking at the 3 items you mention. Thanks.
Incredible video! my powers been out for eight hours and counting. I had an old generator that was given to me and you help me get that thing fired up. Thank you so much!!!!
@@michaelwatchorn5255 I’m happy to help! Hope your power gets sorted out quickly for you
Thanks guy,you just saved me some time.awsome.i just sheared my keyway off getting the blower nut off of one .that's why mine won't run now.
thank you so much,i couldn't figure it out i changed the gaskets and the studs but again leaked,i opened the carb i found the float was upside down 😂
Many thanks blake ive had issues with my carb leaking out fuel on my homelite jet washer for a couple of years, 1st time i stripped it i used gasket sealant and unknowingly obviously blocked the air bleed which you pointed out in your video, free'd it up and bingo its running fab now.. many thanks 👍
Another great British invented product
Bro never use a feeler gauge on a overhead valve on a Stihl blower still makes a tool specifically made for the valves i highly recommend u buy the tool..... sincerely RIGO SMALL ENGINE REPAIR
Hey vato my blower sounds like it wants to run but doesn't If I keep cranking it it sounds like it's running does that mean it's done?
You just cut a regular feeler gauge with a pair of tin snips and it works perfectly fine
Having the same issue. Big headache. I adjusted the valves, I installed a new spark plug, new carburetor, new air filters, new fuel filters, new ignition coil, still doesn’t start. Only started once or twice for 10 seconds each time: what do you think it is ?
Thank you so much for including the air vent issue. I am about to try and figure out why the new carb I got for my neighbors mower is leaking gasoline and I would have been stumped if it doesn't end up being the needle seated improperly. Excellent info.
Thanks Blake :)
Good stuff - simple easy to understand
The only video that explained the vent which was my problem. Gasket blocking it. Thank you sir.
No worries, happy to help!
How did you remove the flywheel key??
Great explanation, but you say “ah”, “a” and “um” so often it’s extremely distracting and annoying.
Shut up
I have a Nikki carburetor but has shut off thing on th bottom of th cup can that be th same problem I'm having or is mine a different problem cause it has a different shut off
Thanks for your video, i found that the float was full of gas, idk how it managed to get in but i was
😮
Thank you for the video
I knew right away what happened because it had happened to me before. But my bolt came out of the exhaust stuck to the fly wheel and wedged between the coil and fly wheel. It was like a freak accident but it happened. Not sure how to add a picture but I have a picture of it.
Seems odd to me with the way you went through your diagnostic. Going straight to the Cam really seems like a huge waste of time. Why not check for spark first, then compression test, look at the spark arrestor to make sure it's not clogged, follow up with some Carburetor cleaner ( NOT BRAKE CLEANER ) for one brake cleaner will wash down the cylinder of any oil residue, along with brake cleaner will ruin a lot of Orings , primer bulbs and the list goes on. Stay away from brake cleaner on all small engine equipment. Then I would have gone to the valves to see if it needed adjustment, followed up with the fly wheel. Im sure you have your own method of madness however seems like you started backwards. The easy stuff first is way faster. and knocks out a laundry list of potential issues fast. Anyway, great video to show the end result of the problem.
I've seen that key get sheared off before when a customer forgot to properly tighten the flywheel bolt and tried to start the engine. One good pull is all it takes if it is loose and suddenly your ignition timing is so far off it will never run.
Thanks for the suggestion of checking the vent hole on the carb. I have been frustrated with leaking fuel on a 2 stroke ATV. I can't tell you how many times I have removed the carb, checked the bowl, adjusted the movement of the bowl by bending the tabs, changed the needle and seat and just been resigned to shutting off the fuel at the tank when not running. I have gotten to the point where I purchased a new, China carb and will eventually do a swap, but the puzzle of the fuel leaking still challengers me to find a solution. Maybe the vent hole was the problem all along. Thanks.
If the machine idles ok but just won't rev it's not a compression issue. You normally notice compression problems at idle. Most engines providing you can get them started will rev fine but not idle if the compression is too low. Maybe remove the muffler and check the port isn't blocked, or if you have a donor machine try the coil to see if the rev limiter has gone bad. Muffler itself could be blocked inside.
Im dealing with a carb that was overflowing no matter what. I tested everything and found the float has gas in one of the sides. New one on order. Im hoping it solves the problem. Runs great otherwise. Plug shows rich condition.
A new carb will solve your issue for sure
Just had the same problem. Common for the key way to snap on push lawnmowers
Thank God thank you brother holy crap I was 40min away from taking a hit out on my generator. Couple hard pipe hitting ....to go to work on the homs with a pair of pliers and a blow torch....!
Wow this is the best explanation to what’s going on with the vst needle and airlock issue for my Yamaha outboard . Thanks will be trying the test
2:00 time. Soak that bowl, in vinegar overnight. Keep an eye out, for acidification on some types of metals ; some pot metals will be eaten up if left in vinegar too long. Works good, though ! Shiner right up. Sometimes, i use a small round wire brush on a drill, to clean this float bowl.....
Buddy. Tryin to figure out if your my cousin. Was your moms name Lois??
