      I love Patchouli too! It is quite strong though so you may not need as much in your mixture. Sandalwood is also a great scent!

      I've never tried using a fragrance oil that wasn't essential oil. I wouldn't want to use something with lots of other ingredients or chemicals.

      The NOW brand is very affordable and is easy to find in natural food stores, vitamin shops and online. I also trust the brand for purity in their manufacturing practices. There are loads of more expensive brands out there that make all kinds of lofty claims. But for my own personal use, NOW hasn't let me down yet. Another affordable essential oil brand is Aura Cacia. It can be found almost everywhere including grocery stores. It's inexpensive and a decent quality. Hope this helps. :) Thanks for watching!

    What is witch hazel? I'm not from the U.S and I have no idea what this is...is it perfumer alcohol? Why don't you use polisorbets to mix the water with oils?

    • @helpfulnatural
      @helpfulnatural  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Witch hazel is an astringent that can be purchased with or without added alcohol. It's less drying and caustic than rubbing alcohol and can be used as a toner on the skin. I've personally never used polysorbates but witch hazel is a much gentler ingredient.

    Can u use rose oil

    • @helpfulnatural
      @helpfulnatural  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes you can use whatever oil you prefer but do a little research on them first to make sure they won't be irritating to the skin or keep you awake all night. For instance; citrus oils like lemon and orange are stimulating so they may not help you sleep. A great source of info is mountainroseherbs.com. They have a wealth of information on essential oils. • @helpfulnatural

      I use it every night about an hour before bedtime. I don't spray it directly on my sheets, but rather just above the bed and let it rain down so to speak. Otherwise my sheets feel damp and I don't want to lay on wet/damp linens. :-( Hope this helps. Thanks for watching! :)

    I’m not very fond of the smell of lavender don’t know why many people love it. Instead of lavender could I use sandalwood?

    • @helpfulnatural
      @helpfulnatural  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You certainly could try it, as long as you do not have an allergy to it. I love sandalwood and use it in my oil burner and diffuser. I developed an allergy to fragrances in skin care products so I no longer spray my bed linens to reduce the chance of having a bad reaction. I now only diffuse it into the air. Hope this helps.

    • @russellwood8750
      @russellwood8750 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@helpfulnatural Yes I thought it was odd you sprayed your bed linen with it. I remember my great grandmother used to make her own sprays however she would spray the mattress and the pillows with it and then put the sheets and pillow case over so it didn't have direct contact with your skin. Thanks for sharing the knowledge much appreciated.

    • @helpfulnatural
      @helpfulnatural  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @helpfulnatural
      @helpfulnatural  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What other ingredients are in the toner? If there are any fragrance ingredients like floral extracts, they will become part of the overall scent of your pillow spray. Witch hazel can be found in any grocery store where they sell rubbing alcohol and bandages. If you mean spray it around your room, I'd say yes but be careful not to spray it directly onto wooden furnishings. Essentials oils are very caustic and can ruin wooden surfaces. I speak from experience on this, unfortunately.
