    I have found that mixing the poly20, fragrance, glycerin, Preservative together then slowly streaming in the water into that mixture and whisking all the while, really helps to keep it from separating. I actually like the milky white color it becomes, it looks fancy in a colored glass bottle.

    I just put a similar gram scale in my cart because I want to make very small batches for testing. And yes I feel like the government will that I’m making d*rugs lol by ordering the scale. Only it’s candles…but, I do have an addiction: buying fragrance oils!

    Hello, thank you for sharing your video. I do have a question if I were to use the Perfumers alcohol would that be replacing the percentage of the distilled water?

    • @earthglow

      Yes, you’d also be replacing the poly 20 and the preservative would not be necessary either.

    Hi I need to know we need to have water in the spray? Or I can use the base natural da maker's? Thank you 😊

    • @earthglow

      Hi! This formula absolutely requires water. You could also use a perfumer’s alcohol instead of water. If you did this, you’d also need to take out the poly 20 and Optiphen as they would not be necessary.

  • @lisac6369

    Do you think room spray beses with just perfumers alcohol should have something to prevent it from being too drying? I don’t find it drying personally but some makers say you should avoid just using alcohol.

    • @earthglow

      Too drying as in to be sprayed in a room? I don’t recommend using alcohol but specifically perfumer’s alcohol if you’re looking for a clear base.

    Have you tried poly 80 instead of 20 to get a clear formulation? I’ve seen it on a couple places.

    • @earthglow

      Great comment! Poly 20 is used more in cosmetics than poly 80-it’s less viscous and will make a less stiff product which is why you’ll often find poly 80 in solid products like bath bombs and poly 20 in products like scrubs and sprays.

    • @earthglow

      Poly 80 is also quite a bit darker in color which may be an important consideration for leave on products as well.

    Should you be using preservative laden spray on your body?

    • @earthglow

      The alternative would be a breeding ground for harmful bacteria. Any water-based product that you use on your body contains a preservative. This formula uses Optiphen, which is naturally-derived, and I would not consider 1% very much 😉

    • @mrscchow-hi7uh

      @@earthglow if you put water, you have to put preservative. Sugarcane alcohol or perfumers alcohol would be best if we are marketing it as skin safe body spray.

    • @earthglow

      @@mrscchow-hi7uh I did mention these specific alcohols as options in the video as well if people are trying to obtain a clear base. You will find that some customers have skin irritation to alcohol of any sort, even though these alcohols are absolutely safe for this application as a base.
      if you’re that concerned about 1% of a preservative, you need to start analyzing your cosmetics drawer as well as your refrigerator and pantry.
