I had severe wheezing almost 4 to 5 days I dispelled the phlegm by doing huffing & coughing. Also that day night I did dumbbell exercise one hour after this exercise I had a discomfort at the bottom of right lung extreme corner & then my heart rate went up to 150 and finally in a matter of 20 minutes of time everything settled down.. But after two days , to check the lung status when I took a deep breath yday,, I had a severe discomfort with pain at the bottom of right lung extreme corner. What could be the cause , Doctor ??

You should go to your family doctor for this. Thismay be a combination of lung restriction from mild COPD or allergies combined with another pain that might deceive you in thinking that it has to do with the lungs when it could be with the gallbladder or such. Stones may be trying to pass out of the gallbladder into the intestines as liquid bile normally does for proper intestinal function however, hardened deposits in the gallbladder may be present and have a hard time coming out which causes pain. If so, diet becomes important. Notice if the pain happens after a fatty or greasy meal which forces more bike secretion.
It may be a lung issue but it is best to get diagnosed at a doctor's office where they can also physically diagnose the issue.

The weight based movements in combination with "hacking" phlegm probably had something to do with the pain(s) that you feel in the c-p angle of lung lower portion corner, which is affected in severe COPD when lung expands . Heart rate could be anxiety or dyspnea (short-breath) from hypoxemia. Might have an obstruction there as well, mucus or other. - D. Fardella, RRT

It's a worse disease than most cancers that can be cured, but that doesn't progress to respiratory failure and suffocating death like me.

The best that can done is symptom relief. progression of the disase can not be stopped and there is no cure. However i have worked with a patient at 98 with copd and not on oxygen. So if you want to continue with management you probably have more time then you reliese to enjoy life as best you can

I've had COPD diagnosed since 2011, and emphysema in 2014, there is loads of great advice on TH-cam, ie herbs ,like tumeric, ginger, thyme, honey and lemon there is also blackseed oil, which helps no end , blackseed oil is expensive now , and I found (onion seeds or blackseed,s are cheaper and u only need to take 10 seeds a day , never give up hope , my grandfather was diagnosed with COPD and emphysema and went on to live another 45 years , keep positive thoughts and you learn how to manage . Blessings from Scotland.

Dr. Kalil..... are you statinng that by placing these one way valves that part of the lung deflates cahsing those tissues not to be used and be replaced by new tissue to help the patient or you meant that by deflating the area with the valve other areas of the lung is used instead? I'm trying to understand if you are saying that placing the one way valve forces damaged tissue to die by being deflated snd unused and therefore force the body to replenish new tissue in that area. Or you simply meant that air is now concentrated to other areas in the lungs.
    Thank you.
