Love hearing other designers' job hunting processes. Post-Covid has been a little bit of a different beast too!

Thank you for talking about networking. Every video I have watched they talked about how they networked or knew someone. I also don’t like to network so it’s nice to hear that it’s not essentially necessary

This is so helpful Maddy, thank you! I'm just beginning job hunting, so this is timely. There seems to be so many remote opportunities, but like you said...that means much more competition. Looking forward to the next videos in this series!

I could feel the gratitude through my screen...we appreciate you making these videos as it is truly helping us navigate our way into a career in product design. I have watched A LOT of youtubers giving advice on this topic and your channel is BY FAR the best I have seen next to Jesse Showalter! I love your style of design and I love the way you explain EVERYTHING! Keep posting and I will keep watching 🤓🥰

Love the video content, thanks Maddy. I just started the job search as a new grad, and it's intimidating to feel obligated to network even though it's important. Your experience made me more confident sending out those applications :)

This is so helpful. Really loved the insight. After this video, I just realized, I have 3 separate working experiences in product design. Would collate them into actionable bits. As I would be applying for jobs next month. Thank you Maddy.

Thank you so much for sharing!! I am in the job-hunting process for my first UX job. I am so stressed about the cover letter and networking part. Because of those, I somehow scared to apply for positions :( Love to hear more about your on-boarding and job hunting journey stories :)

How about - you have experience but it's at the one end of the whole design process? I've been in the field for almost 6 years, but the last time I searched for a job the most important thing was to know to make excellent use of the software - like photo manipulations, icons for the web, etc. So now 3 years later every job description includes the end-to-end process. Research, work with clients and stakeholders, wireframing, prototyping, and DESIGN. So I'm a junior in UX, but an intermediate-senior in UI. And most of the jobs are for a generalist. When I apply for a junior position I don't hear back. When I land an interview I'm a junior in the general sense.

Great content! A bit of unsolicited feedback haha, I know it's a regional thing in the US, but I find it hard to follow people who speak in a high intonation all the time. I'm not sure what's called, but it's like you're asking a question? even when you're making a statement? and dividing sentences in chunks because of that? It makes people sound insecure and/or air-headed (when you're clearly not!). Take care
