Hi, recently got an interview as a product designer, I'm a junior UI/UX designer and I only have passion projects in my portfolio, any advice in how to approach this interview? I really want the job
Hey, hard to advice if you don't know what you don't know in terms of issues you anticipate to face. I'm currently producing a few videos on interviews in UX. Stay tune, or follow up with specific concerns that would be easier to answer in a message :)
Hi, @vaexperience. I was told interviews usually come before surveys. In your cover letter, it looks like a survey was proposed as the first research method. Could you explain your rationale? Isn't secondary research and competitive analysis (from previous User Research, Analytics and so on) or heuristic evaluation usually the starting point to find problems and opportunities? I am super curious to hear from you.... Still learning about the criteria when deciding on research methods and priorities. Tkss
I hear some valid points. However, this is a top-notch fancy word that you used, and if somebody doesn't usually use that word. Would it make sense while giving an interview? i.e., flyby?
Thanks for sharing - I wondered, did this cover letter get you hired at this company with just this company or did you mimic this for other cover letters with companies?
Just this company. There haven't been that many cover letters in my 15y or so of career. The point, though, is to tailor it as that what the cover letters are for.
Great video! Thanks for covering my question. I don't think there's anything like this on TH-cam. Keep up the good work!
Glad it's of use
Thank you for opening up something personal to help us pursue our ambitions. This is very helpful.

As mentioned in the video flyby was an actual feature that was highly used in the product at a time - the pun etc is clear too in English.

@vaexperience Hey, have finished my second ux project. Is 2 case studies enough to land a junior ux designer role or 3 is a bare minimum?
if they are good you are fine with 2
so cool! but it's so hard to always write these letters when I need to fire a lot in 1 day. phew! gg
