Hii Andrea! Thank you! Glad that helps :) cover letters are def something should phase out for designers haha. Do you have other questions or any topics you want to see in future videos?
Mad lad. My respect! I was wandering and procrastinating a lot. Thanks dude! I would be much happier to work with you if you have a company. much easier to do things 🙌🙌🙌🙌
watching this a bit late, but loved this video! Cover letters have been the worst part of applying to internships and this is a refreshing take on it. As I develop my portfolio further I might take this recommendation! thanks for the great content!
Hii and thanks ClarkeClark12. Pinterest did not require a cover letter so I didn't submit one. Generally speaking, if it was required, I submitted my cover letter in this format for all applications starting in 2016. If it was not required/optional, then I just left it blank. Again overall, I don't think cover letters matter much or should matter much :)
@@saniyapataskar5984 technically you don't need your cover letter. What I did was, if a cover letter is required in the application, I would just drop some links to different projects in my portfolio, so they can direct the recruiters/hiring managers to what they might want to see. Do what make sense for you :) As long as you have a strong portfolio and a decent resume. There shouldn't be problems.
This was truly eye-opening. Thank you for sharing this video. I'll definitely consider changing my job searching strategy.

I completely agree with you on cover letter. I hate cover letters with a passion.
Haha totally feel you. It's ridiculous :D

Haha! Thanks mate!
Yessss! Preach. We’re not writers, we make VISUALLY appealing solutions 😂
Haha yeah exactly! Don't hire me for my writing 😅
Thanks for rolling me down
Thank you! Let me know if you have other questions :)

Thanks Salik! Cover letters are very unnecessary...
Hilarious. I love it. Thanks for this!
Haha thank you Karen! Feel free to let me know if you have any UX topics you want to see in future videos! :)
thanks again! :D what you wrote for IDEO was really bold.
but looking forward to next week's video.
Haha thanks! Sometime things need a change and will still work as long as you stick to the fundamentals.
Wow. This is very insightful. Thank you for sharing your cover letters. It's not easy to find the real cases on online.
Thank you! Haha it's not easy to find real cases because they shouldn't exist in the first place :D
Thats awesome, felt the same why i wanna share my experience & skills twice as resume and cover letter.
Got a different approach. Thanks Justeen
Thanks for the comment! I think your instinct is on point :)
This is actually genius because cover letters just seem like a waste of time. Why not show you what I can do? Love it
Haha exactly right! Thanks for supporting the channel! :)
Thank you! THIS IS literately an eye-opener for me and to move away from my modular cover letters.
Haha in 2022 I still stand with my take from 2016: cover letters are ridiculous for UX.
So for Pintrest did you submit the same format as the one you wrote for IDEO? Btw, great video !

So true! Why tf am I writing a cover letter?
Why are you? :)
@@Justeen15 I am a recent graduate with just a portfolio and resume. How should I frame my cover letter?
