    Awesome build man! My hyte y60 is on the way. my main concern has been thermals and you’ve given me a pretty good idea on the setup. I’m probably going to start by air cooling the gpu and using an aio for the cpu, then moving on to a custom loop for liquid cooling both. I’m also gaming at 1440p

    • @GurhmsGarage
      @GurhmsGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      YES! Awesome man, congrats on your new build!
      My temps have continued to be just fine. I've monitored temps during several long sessions in HUNT Showdown and other extremely taxing games (playing at 1440p with maxed settings)...cpu stays around 58c, gpu hits 81c but never gets hotter and mobo was tracks around 71c in the case. It is a little on the warmer side but nothing that would cause throttling and if you eventually go all liquid, my hats off to you. What a killer build this would be all liquid cooled. Cheers Brotha!

    @CrezyPacMan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Dope build. Curious to see what your temps are? I used this case to build and have 360 aio on top as exhaust with one on the back of the case also. The bottoms are the stock 120s it comes with and I put 2 140s on the side as intake. Gpu stays at a cool 68c for me. Also gpu is a 3080ftw3

    • @GurhmsGarage
      @GurhmsGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! Regarding temps, I've done some testing and everything seems great. All components stay extremely cool when not under load. When gaming, I monitored temps during my last 4hr HUNT session (playing at 1440p with maxed settings)...cpu hit 58c, gpu hit 81c and mobo was tracking 71c in the case. It is a little on the warmer side but nothing that would cause throttling. I may eventually put some bigger fans in the bottom for more intake but for now I'm really happy with it!

  • @markkennedy4055
    @markkennedy4055 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Beginning At 6:25 a major mistake was made when installing the radiator with the cooling tubes down, doing it that way will potentially kill the pump prematurely. There are many major TH-camrs that made videos regarding proper installation. I'm not bashing you, I just wanted to let you know. You have built a very nice system!

    • @GurhmsGarage
      @GurhmsGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yo, thanks for the comment and concern. I actually made sure ahead of time this would be ok and in fact is optimal. The air bubbles are trapped at the top of the aio radiator chamber and not the pump chamber since the highest point of the radiator sits above/higher than the pump itself. The tube direction actually doesn't make a difference as long as the air has a higher point to consolidate that's not the pump chamber (and the air already in the aio system is in the radiator chamber).
      I appreciate the kindness Bro and glad you dig the rig. It really turned out incredible! :)

    Hello, amazing video. Just wonderingwhat kind of temps do you get on the cpu? Idle and underload?

    • @GurhmsGarage
      @GurhmsGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much! Temps are really good. At idle while browsing or editing, cpu sits at around 29c and in the case it's 28c. When under heavy load playing demanding games maxed out with ray tracing I've seen the cpu get up to 70c roughly.
      There has been a couple times it's peaked at around 75-80c but that's only after I've been playing for over 5-6 hours straight and it was hot in my office.
      Temps on the GPU are good as well which is what I was most concerned about due to it being so close to the front glass panel. However, they stick comfortably 65-75c depending on the game I'm playing. Sometimes it's peaked in the low 80s but again, that was after a super long session with a demanding game AND it was super hot in my office.
      Overall, extremely happy with the case and the build. Cheers! :)

    Hey how is the thermals on that? Kinda had the same fan problem u had i was going to do 3 intake top and 2 intake bottom then have the side exhaust fans but i might go with your fan setup instead im mostly concerned about that fan in the back

    • @GurhmsGarage
      @GurhmsGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thermals have been just fine. I've always used full size cases outside of some crazy custom builds in the past so I was expecting it to be a little warmer...and it is, BUT there's definitely no issues. I've tested HUNT Showdown maxed out at 1440p for roughly 5hrs straight and haven't had any issues. I could turn the fans up a lot faster as well but during that session...cpu hit 58c, gpu hit 81c and mobo was tracking 71c in the case. It is a little on the warmer side but nothing that would cause throttling or any other issues.
      Regarding the fan on the back, it's the only thing I'm a little unhappy with but I modded it to work. Firstly, using the stock case fan I had to shave the edge of the fan frame down to allow the glass front panel to close and screw in properly. Be sure to do this carefully because I found the front panel handle to be a little malleable and you want to be sure not the crack the glass. I used a razor blade until there was enough free space for the panel to lock and screw in completely. Another tip, don't cut too low or deep on the fan frame cuz it's not very thick and you will break through. I did a little and had to fill and paint over it. I also didn't want the fan spinning in open air on the back so I purchased some wire mesh and custom made my own grill panel. To attach it, I used some GEL Loctite by applying three dollops on top and bottom (after spray painting it black btw). Below is a link to the Mesh on Amazon and an imgur link to the grill I made. I really recommend this so you don't jam your finger in the fan. Even caught my cat eyeing it lol. The grill panel works great for this.
      I hope all this helps and I'd love to hear what you decide! Cheers! :)

      Ah I know what you're talking about now. Normally I haven't had an issue with this in the past. In fact, I've built and run some crazy SLI rigs in the past and daisy chained power for years with no performance issues. HOWEVER, I did some looking in to it and it appears there's been reports on Nvidia's 3000s series cards specifically where using a single cable for each 8pin conn is recommended. The data is unclear on the matter BUT that likely only means RMAs are too low for manufactures to change their recommendations or to give a crap. With that said, I really appreciate your concerned feedback. I'll throw another connector in there and do some tests. Cheers! :)

      @RegazozoGaming 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GurhmsGarage You mentioned the issue during the video when installing the power supply, GPU's are now pulling insane amounts of power. Older GPUs for the most part stayed under 200 watts, since you get 150 from 1 cable and 75 from the board daisy chaining was fine. The MSI 3080ti has been shown pulling 400watts which means the 375 you were feeding it could cause issues.

      @@GurhmsGarage Generally speaking 8 pins safely provide 150 watts and 6 pins 75 watts, and well build power supplies will do more for sure, that cable was probably giving more than enough power but you would have been pulling more than what is considered safe through it, copper has its limits and since you have the equipment not to have to do that, better to err on the side of safety Not to mention More power Means More FPS.
