- The greatest players of all-time have come from this league.
Wayne wore the Greyhounds logo, Bobby Orr wore a variation of the Oshawa Generals logo, Mario didn't wear a logo in this video, but still came from the QMJHL. Connor McDavid wore a red version of the Erie Otters logo. Sidney Crosby wore the Rimouski logo with a lighter blue. Guy Lafleur was, of course, a Québec Rempart.
Dany Heatley, though? Nah, that all-star played for the CALGARY CANUCKS!!
Anyway... here are some timestamps:
0:00 - Introducing the CHL, what it is, and blah blah blah, try turning this to 1.25x speed I guess
2:05 - Rank 60-51
10:19 - Rank 50-41
18:50 - Rank 40-31
24:34 - Rank 30-21
29:38 - Rank 20-11
34:34 - The Top 10 - กีฬา
I mistakenly thought that the QMJHL top 10 started before the WHL top 10, but I was completely wrong haha. I very much underestimated the QMJHL logos.
are you canadian mr . "Im not a fan of american patriotic logos"
@@12STU sure am :)
Lol@@icewyre
As someone from Prince Edward Island, I’ve been saying that we should incorporate a lighthouse into the logo for years! There is tons of them here. There could maybe be some cool design with the confederation bridge and a lighthouse that could really work
They used a lighthouse logo a few years ago on their 3rd jersey
I’m from Lethbridge Alberta but we visit pei every summer and I’ve fallen in love with the Charlottetown Islanders. There logo is one of the best in hockey but I think a lighthouse logo would be interesting
my nabr iOSt to play for Everett silvrtaps
as a Saskatoon blades Season ticket Holder, that Logo has through a few Variations over the years, it has a nickname known as the "pacman" because it is if you look close enough it looks like the the video game character, its a well known logo that returned in 2017, it was originally used from 1980-1994.
Winnipeg’s logo has the word “ice” hidden in it. Pretty cool touch that should’ve gotten it a bit higher imo. Portland definitely wins though
Yeah, forsure there's a lot of love for the hidden word 'ice,' but... to me, in my eyes, it makes it look worse. No hate to those who love it, just something that lowers it more than it would be for me.
The Calgary hitman are named after canadian wrestler Brett the hitman heart. He was born in calgary and was one of the founding Owners of the team And was inspiration for their name
No one likes Calgary
I remember the Hockey News had a major junior league logo rankings once about 20 years ago and Val-D or had the exact same design. (I think it was dead last)
Makes sense haha
I think the Moose Jaw Warriors logo is supposed to represent the snowbirds, which are in Moose Jaw. Their previous logo fit the Warrior feel a bit more.
Seattle thunderbirds are way too low, batallion way too low, mooseheads too low, Barrie colts too low, Windsor spitfires too low
Interestingly enough, I actually agree that I put the Thunderbirds too low. However, the others, I like their placement still.
@@icewyre fair enough :), I think the batallion logo is very underrated, I think if you were rating the whole jerseys and not just the logo they'd probably be higher.
Perhaps. I haven't seen all the jerseys yet, but some that I've seen are like 10x better than the logo itself.
@@icewyre I think the problem with the junior logos as of the past decade or so is the forced modernization of the logos and the adoption of the NHL colors. Mississauga is a perfect example, went from the majors with unique jerseys to leafs Jerseys with fish on them.
How many teams in the CHL have yellow and black colors? In the OHL alone you have Hamilton, Kingston, Sarnia, Batallion 3rd jersey... It just seems like we are losing the uniqueness, that's what makes the batallions jersey special to me. Its extremely unique
@@SUswim i just looked up the steelheads and yeah wow. Basically the Leafs there
Nice video
i preferr med hat over winter hawks
The Calgary Hitmen aren't named after the Assassination Hitmen haha they are named after Bret "The Hitmen" Hart who was a famous wrestler in Calgary and was a owner when the team was a Expansion Team ever since he gave his Nickname to the team to use they have kept it and recently they raised a banner for him into the rafters of the Saddledome in Calgary!
Ah I see. Makes sense. I knew Hart was involved with the team, I just never knew he had the nickname Hitman
I agree with the ice
the Ice Dogs should've been higher up cause the logo is badass with the dog having that sneaky muttley like grin like he just did something naughty (like he went and took a shit in the opponent's territory and now he's skating fast to make a getaway
The ones that look like NHL logos are because back in the day the six Orginal teams all owned Junior A team in the OHL
In fairness to the Kitchener Rangers, they were the farm team of the NY Rangers, until the NHL expansion in 1967. I'm sure that doesn't impact your rankings, but at least there is a legitimate connection between the Rangers and hence the use of the logo 👍🏻.
The old screaming eagles logo is 1,000,000 times better than the new one
The Niagara logo IS Don Cherry’s dog
WITH THE ICE BEING REPLACED BY Wenatchee Wild HOW WOULD YOU RANK THEM
It’s the Quebec Maritimes junior hockey league
It was still major when I made the video
The Calgary Hitmen are actually named for their primary owner. WWE Hall of fame professional wrestler, Brett "The Hit Man" Hart, who's from Calgary.
I'm Highly Offended By The Ice Logo, Lol 😅. I Don't Like The Mascot That Much, Though. He Did Give Me A Mini Stick A While Ago, For Some Reason.
The Manitoba slander and disrespect
Oh it's Kootenay slander as well lol
@@icewyre I can live with that
im from peterborough and im offend at the rank 60?
Patty is still coaching the Rems
Yeah I actually found that out after, which is pretty cool. He had a stint coaching there in the 2000s as well, which is what I was thinking of. He was also the owner, though I'm not sure if he still is or not.
If anyone knows why Lethbridge is called the hurricanes lmk
I’m from Lethbridge and we’re called the Hurricanes because Lethbridge is one of the windiest cities in canada, wr are close to the Rockies and we get really strong winds pretty frequently that are like hurricane winds
Don’t worry Patrick Roy is coaching the Québec Remparts he’s also the gm of this team, you don’t hallucinate
Cause it's windy is why it's called hurricanes use to be Lethbridge broncos
Yeah that was my guess, but still... Hurricane is a different kind of windy
I watch a lot of videos like this. Just so you know. I have ranked your video as dead last on my list of youtube videos I have ever watched. Carry on.
Just curious, what video would be first on that list?
I believe the not so well done animal logos are probably done by the same person
can you do a update
This is pretty updated. Has a team changed their logo already?
@@icewyre the ice moved to Wenatchee and they will be called the wild
Oh I didn't realize they weren't keeping the name Ice and the logo. Interesting. Do you think they'll still use the same Wentachee Wild logo as they used previously in another league?
well if you look at there social media's it looks like it
@@icewyre all I know I like there bchl logo
Go Rebels!
(warning this is a joke) Being a Thunderbirds fan I in deeply saddened my the number 1 pick... I mean like it bad cuz say
Ottawa, Oshawa, Kingston and Peterborough being disrespected rn man...
They sure are... but apart from Val d'Or, who could be lower than those bad boys?
@@icewyre Personally, this list would have been super hard for me to make cause I really love 90% of the logos in Junior hockey LOL. I just love the simplicity of Kingston (Works quite well for their branding, but the old frontenacs logo for the mid 2000's needs to come back), 67's is just so classic (but the angry puck logo was awesome too), The Gens again work great with their branding. I love simplicity personally, but this is your list! You did a great job on it man loved the video.
For me personally, I'm putting the teams that lack creativity such as the Kitchener Rangers, Owen Sound was pretty bad, not a fan of Winnipeg Ice or the Steelheads (bring back the Majors).
Yeah I usually don't rank by iconic status so a lot of just letters or wordmark things don't hit high in my eyes. But oh man, that Owen Sound logo is so bad haha! It's an animal, which is why its where it is, but man... it is so bad. But yeah, I actually really liked when Mississauga was the IceDogs. I know that's Niagara's team now, but when I was younger I always thought that was cool too.
The Frontenacs logo is awful! Being from Kingston, I take no offence to your ranking of our boring logo.
However I disagree about Oshawa’s spot. I feel that theirs is one of the best in the OHL. Along with Windsor Spitfires and Barrie Colts.
As for WHL, I quite like Lethbridge Hurricanes, Swift Current Broncos and Tri-City Americans.
QMJHL, I like Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, St. John Seadogs and Rouyn Noranda Huskies best.
Chicoutimi is a blueberry
Im from Victoriaville and the logo of the Tigres is horrible the old one look better
Absolutely agree. The old logo looks miles better
Great video but that comment about the hitmen was just stupid lmao, it's a super cool name and their named after Brett the hit man hart the wwe wrestler who owns them or owned them I'm not sure which. Why wouldn't you wanna be named after something so intimidating? It's hockey not the peace core.
My least favourite logo is the sudbury wolves
I can see that. I just think having blood on your logo is pretty sweet
@@icewyre After watching this i realize how bad the Val dor logo is. Also could you do one with the National Lacrosse League?
@@wJacko I'm thinking about doing a big ranking of some major North American sports leagues that aren't a part of the Big 4, like MLS and NLL.
@@icewyre That would be awesome!
Honestly the Soo Greyhounds logo is complete garbage Last place
Too high: Oil Kings, Battalion, Wolves, Remparts
Too low: Storm, Ice, Firebirds
Pete’s are nice
Thunderbirds at 28
Indigenous art represented respectfully is barely above halfway up.
Also Bret “The Hitman” Hart’s brother died on live TV bc of corporate negligence. If you wanna not root for a team named after killing people, then ur gonna have to wait until the CHL’s Vince McMahons
