I like what you said about intersections! Our ancestors didn't have any quilt police and did as they pleased ! I have a couple of postage stamp type quilt tops from circa 1900 and 1930s, they both have wonky intersections! They don't affect the overall appearance of the tops ! I love the al fresco , just get er done approach ! I have many seam rippers , use them and hate them ! Ive tried strip piecing and was very frustrated with that approach! I had my eye surgery last year so I might have better luck but I think keeping the subunits smaller has more control for me . The dark thread use makes sense to me! Easy is faster! Lol!
