Best version of this old standard I’ve ever heard. My dad was a fiddle and mandolin player. He sadly passed in 1987. He would have absolutely loved Mikes fiddle playing.
Brought joy to a 70 year old man! Sounded so much like my dad I almost cried. I sure miss playing rhythm for my dad's great fiddle playing. Love your posts because they are always so great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've just blundered onto this and it's about the best rendition I have ever heard . How did I miss this for so long ...I don't know , but I'm so glad I found it . Does anyone know how Mike is doing ? How goes the rehab ? I've searched, and donated ,but I can't find out any new news about his recovery ... help . Russ, I cannot find new posts from you . Are you tired, retired ,too busy ,or what ? I miss your stuff ...thank you brother
Spectacular!! I saw Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder for the first time at Oceanlakes Campground in Myrtle Beach and it was the best live bluegrass band I've ever heard and I've seen em all. It took me 40 years to see Ricky live and it was a stunning performance of bluegrass by the entire band. So very tight and talented.

Monroe would be proud!
Imagine if you lived back in the day before tv , you'd be moving the furniture and shakin that ass to this music

Thanks Russ & Mike, this video screams talent! Thanks for sharing it with us, we appreciate it so much.
Wonderful!....Let's put this on repeat for a little bit.
One of my favorites, well done!
Totally steeped in Tradition but with a fresh I still enjoy hearing this and playing this attitude. Russ, Mike, as good as I've ever heard. I'm a fan.
Can't wait to see you guys at the Birchmere!
Great stuff, Sally Goodins is one of my favourites!
Sounding great, those 6 guys sitting around you 2 seem to like it too.
Great job fellas!!👍
I love listening to how earl scruggs played backup especially on fiddle tunes. You may have him beat. Well done!
You're too kind Grady, but there is no way I have that man beat! Thanks for watching!
Well done!
Hell yeah! Keep it coming, probably my favorite format and you guys nail it!
Absolutely brilliant.
I wonder if that minor change was planned or if Russ just rolled with it?
I am gonna be sorry to miss you ricky and KT when you are up in VT!
Hey Russ, do you have the your SG backup tab available anywhere? It’s awesome, great sound!
Oh yeah, I like your take on it. Mike Barnett is smooth, you roll is always cool Russ. Is fiddle all that Mike plays?
It's his main axe, but he messes around on mandolin and guitar also.
@@81crowe can we see some of that messing around. Maybe I can try to learn something.
Sorry my phone auto corrects and makes me look like I can't spell is! Lol
You had a video up of you playing a cheap bottle cap banjo with a great setup...did you take it down?
The owner of the shop asked me to.
