Very nicely done fairest review I’ve probably ever seen someone do of a competitors product, which speaks volumes. That railing is brilliant would be really great for fishing!
Those are great boats - old town pack. I always wanted one. Have a Mad River freedom 14 for my solo canoe. It is light, responsive, and real nice to paddle rivers with.
Nice positive review. Wenonah has great dedicated-purpose hulls for speed or stability but for all-around use they are lacking. Northstar may not have a solo as fast as a Voyager or as stable as a Basswood but what they do have is more versatile and in my mind more thoughtfully designed for what most people need. Same thing with tandems and triples. Every canoe is a compromise, nothing can do it all. Northstar seems to hit a lot of sweet spots.
I grew up near Wenonah Canoes and paddled them growing up. At 18 years old I paddled a Bell solo and that single experience changed my life! Agreed that they are inspired designs! 😃🛶
What PFD were you using? I've been waiting for an Astral Sturgeon to come into stock - that one looks similar. Also, would love to hear you review a Hemlock canoe. Not exactly your backyard, I know. Love your videos.
@@HappyPaddlin ready to pick up a Hemlock Peregrine in a few weeks. Dave Curtis is a very knowledgeable guy and I feel good about buying a boat from such a renowned builder.
I'm a kayak guy, but I've always admired the Wenonah boats that I've seen over the years. The carbon Bending Branches paddle looks great! Weight? (I'm considering a single blade backup paddle) Thanks for the review!
Bending Branches Black Pearl ST available in late ‘21 or 2022: Blade size: 8.25” x 18.75” 105 sq in Weight: 16 oz 100% carbon grip and shaft, Foam core carbon blade Freestyle Palm Grip

If I had to replace my beloved Old Town Pack for a solo...this would be in my top choices. Thanks for an honest review.

@@bennyblanko3 that sounds like a great boat too. Mad River made awesome boats! Enjoy the water! 👍🛶

Man, well done video. 2 more things I want, lol. I can probably blend in a new paddle easier than another boat, haha!
I like it!😎

Thanks 🙏 That’s a Stohlquist ‘22 Edge that should be out in the market Feb/March ‘22. I really like it! And yes on paddling more canoes!

Congratulations! Send some pics!
Hey man! Curious if you have a link to your buddy’s clamp on canoe footbrace. Getting a northstar Polaris and considering the options!
If you send me your email I can forward to him and put you in touch: HappyPaddlin@gmail.com
Do you know the specs of the Basswood, couldn’t find it on Wenonah’s web site?
See description of this video.
They haven’t built this out in their site yet, soon. I shared what they gave me.

Thank You!
Check out the wenonah fusion, great looking canoe. It has a rudder with foot controls.
Where can I get a Black Pearl straight shaft paddle?
Need to wait, likely to 2022. Then, many will have them. I know I’m getting some!
