How to clean the view finder / remove dust inside finder Canon 60D (DSLR)

This is the way to clean the view finder fresnel focus screen of the Canon 60D. Please be very careful with the class and use plastic tweezers. This fresnel screen is very sensitive so don't force touch it.

You're cleaning a focus screen, NOT a viewfinder.
do u already know what you have to do cause i have dust in my view finder and dont know what to do
@@jonahprice7650 when the dust is in the view finder its good to have a professional fix that. You have to take the camera apart pretty much to clean that or get it replaced.
actually you dont have to unscrew those, just need to pull the notch and the holder is open..
And you grabbed the focus plane with metal tweezers?? that's crazy
Actually there are small cuts around the border. We can use metal tweezers as long as we not touch the glass area. But we need to be very careful because the glass is very sensitive if we accidentally hit the glass there will be marks in side the view finder.. so better to use a plastic tweezer with rubber cover tips..

Seems fairly simple
Correct me if I'm wrong: you didn't clean the actual viewfinder, but instead you cleaned the focusing screen. So, how does that qualify as a "viewfinder cleaning"? Viewfinder is a little rectangular piece on top and in the back of the camera you look into with your eye to compose a shot.

I need to clean this and behind this for dust. I had my local camera shop do it two weeks ago but it messed up my manual focus on my camera. Now whenever I focus manually and see the image sharp in the viewfinder, the image always comes out blurry.
Sounds like you need to adjust your diopter. Camera shop might have accidentally adjusted when cleaning.
Piktro I did that. the fresnel lens screen was out of place though.
Good vid, but if you're able to have a more vertical camera angle we could see the screws and what you're doing because on this video your hands are in the way a lot
I was excited when I found this video until I saw unscrewing the front of the camera lol
STOP! please the focusing screen (which is what you cleaned in this video) is designed to be replaced in the 60D there is a clip just at the top of the opening for this. THERE IS NO NEED TO UNSCREW ANYTHING! AHHHHHHH

It's a focusing screen. You can buy them on eBay, etc.
Should have put the body cap back on the camera once you started cleaning the focus screen. Anything could have dropped into it!

You should never wipe a fresnel screen/lens. Total amateur and illustrates perfectly not what to do to one. Metal tweezers too, crazy!

thats the Sensor not viewfinder.
Not the sensor either. (it's just the focusing screen)
