Candice Michelle is a big “what if.” She seemed like she was going to be another Trish and was working he’s to improve. And she did improve. But then she got injured, tried to come back too quickly, and was never the same unfortunately. The way WWE booked Mickie James during her last run was such a disappointment. The way Roxanne dropped the NXT belt, was bizarre. I agree with Luke, Tiffany is main-roster ready. WWE are NOT handling Iyo’s run well. They did not handle Liv’s run well either.
I had to wait 5 years from her main roster debut, for them to finally put a title on Naomi. She was the first FCW Women’s Champion & had a great run with that title. Dusty pushed so hard for Naomi to get that spot and she delivered. I was happy when she got the chance as champion, but they booked her run horribly just to have her lose to Natalya. When the program with Charlotte was what a lot of us wanted to see because they have such great chemistry in the ring. I’m so glad she left & is being used to her full potential in Impact as Knockouts World Champion & she’s now even getting the chance to wrestle in AAA! I love this for her. Also, Bianca Belair never being NXT Women’s Champion was one of the biggest mistakes of Triple H’s NXT.

Bertha Faye aka Rhonda Singh had a tremendous pre-WWE reputation in WWC, Stampede and even in Japan. She was truly a wasted talent in WWE like so many women wrestlers of that time like Luna Vachon and Sherri Martel who got shafted into comedy roles or as valets
I believe there is a story about management asking her not to do powerhouse moves despite the fact that she was a strong woman. Probably because it wasn't feminine enough or something...
Rhea is about 5'7. Definitely pretty tall for a woman, definitely much taller than the average woman in WWE, but still pretty small nonetheless. Buddy Murphy is MAYBE 5'10 and she still looks a good bit shorter than him in their pics together. She wears pretty tall boots on RAW to make her look taller and help with the "Mami" aesthetic.
I'm genuinely thinking about this and the only reason that Pete and Luke have the same answers for quite a bit of them is because the woman's division back then was so one-dimensional that you just think of one thing that they've done and made them significant and that's why they got so many of right. It's like they would do one thing that made him stand out and then that's it 😅
Mandy Rose: Left Noticable Gap. Roxanne was the right choice to beat her, but they needed to keep feuding after the title change to keep her big, and there was no one at Mandy's level on her departure. Still not, and they had to pull Becky in to help build some up. Gave a good boost to Tiffany as her win was only as biggest heel by default which they needed for a chase.

It will forever be criminal that Bayley carried WWE's programming throughout the pandemic, and they had NOTHING for her at WM 37. Talk about an absolute slap in the face. Asuka is one of the most consistently undermined women's champions in WWE history. Every title run that she's had on the main roster has been undercut by poor or inconsistent booking. I can not BELIEVE how badly they botched Liv's title run. If WWE had taken their women's division seriously from the beginning, there would be a whole lot of women's champions throughout their history that would be getting more credit now.
I heard rumors that it was suppose to be Bayley vs returning Becky at WM37 but for some reason WWE scrapped it. Instead Bayley got beat up by the Bellas.
Here are the issues with Liv's title reign. 1- horrible cash-in "match". WWE decides to put the belt on an incredibly over babyface, but the agenda is always "gotta keep Ronda strong," so she goes out there and immediately almost loses despite Ronda being injured. 2 - IWC goes full hypocrite and labels her title win as heelish despite the 2 previous cash-ins being babyfaces right after the heel champion had a match... and, more importantly, forgetting that Liv also wrestled a multi-woman ladder match earlier that night. 3 - HHH took over creative, and it immediately looked like he didn't want her as champion. He overbooked the hell out of the Ronda rematch, and regardless of whether Liv tapped too early or if it was the actual plan, he made his brand new pure white meat babyface look like a cheating heel in her very first title defense... cause Ronda has to stay strong above all else. 4 - after retaining over Ronda, Liv's sitting outside the ring smiling as if she knew she got away with some bs. Ok cool... will they start slowly turning her heel like her obsession with the title is corrupting her? Nope... really gotta sell that armbar and keep your babyface champion out of the ring for multiple weeks. 5 - underwhelming Shayna feud? Oddly enough... the only title defense she actually just flat out won clean after her finisher. 6 - Extreme Rules could've been a great way to put her over Rousey without any of the nonsense from the previous match, and the finish was ok, I guess, but there was no follow-up and Ronda didn't literally nothing with the title except drop it back to Charlotte. Liv, in the meantime, pulled a Kofi Kingston and apparently forgot she was ever champion while becoming this masochist? Idk... Botched indeed.
Everything you've said is correct except number 4. HHH may have taken over as head of creative, but that doesn't mean that was his plan. It was still recently enough after Vince resigned in disgrace that a lot of the story line was still set Vince story line and it SHOWS especially in Liv's title reign. A pointless burial for the sake of "challenging" the wrestler (BS they want to make sure the wrestler is only as over as they want them to be) screams more Vince plan than it does HHH, especially with the relative size difference of Liv Morgan compared to any other member of the Women's Division not named Alexa Bliss. I strongly believe that that was Vince doing that as the new management hadn't fully taken control yet at that point. For more supporting evidence, just look at how terrible Rey Mysterio's World Heavyweight Title reign was. Literally gets destroyed every week and loses most of his non-title matches during that reign, never looking strong and like he beats his opponents instead his opponents beat themselves.
@morgantaylor84 I think you mean #3... and as much as I'd like to agree with you, plans can change at any point up to and including during a match itself. So let's assume the overbooked mess that was Ronda-Liv at Summer Slam was Vince's plan, HHH had every right and all the power to change it... and he didn't. And it's not like this was the only time this has happened under HHH's reign with her. Look at the lead up to Elimination Chamber this year. I only remember this because I brought it up to SRS in their postshow, but Liv tapped out to Asuka twice during the week leading up to the chamber match, but she passes out to Asuka and Natalya both having her in submissions during the match to "protect" her? What??? There's just been so little attention to detail with her that idt there will ever be another swell of fan support for her as creative never seems like it'll make consistent sensible decisions with her.
The main thing I feel is that she shouldn't have faced Ronda again. Ronda is always going to be portrayed as this ultimate beast and in that sense, it would never make sense for liv to be able to beat her. The logical thing to do would be to avoid that, not have liv butt heads with Ronda and have no conceivable good way of winning.
@blacktytrix the funny thing is, had Liv won at Money in the Bank without getting zero offense in... and maybe land the Oblivion to get the pin, and then the Summer Slam match just ends with her getting the pinfall without tapping out and spending the next month not competing, her title run looks vastly different. It's simple yet made completely ridiculous by trying to push one person and protect the other at the same time.
I will say Roxanne wasn't stripped of the title, they set up a match just in case they had to strip the title and then she returned and walked in to the ladder match as champion

They're making her less of a pushover in storyline too, so it feels to me like they're just really taking their time with her so she can get the proper run she should've had after beating mandy proper.
Liv's run still breaks my heart. There is literally no WWE women's activity, neither WrestleMania nor Rumble, that goes by where I don't look down at my Riott squad t-shirt and long for different days. I long for the timeline where I could see Ruby or Liv with the belt, their wicked faction against the roster. Make Liv choose Rhea or the Squad, have them go up against Bayley and Io. I just... 😢

Mickie James was champion at the time and they were drafting Melina to Raw. They wanted Melina as champion but they didn’t want Mickie James vs Melina because they were both face at the time. So they decided to give Jillian (Heel) the title and use that opportunity to let Melina win

you hatred towards the girls from the divas era is quite annoying to watch. you can’t blame the girls for the era they were in. more importantly, they did all those ridiculous matches so the girls today wouldn’t. candice was so over with the crowd and had great charisma (way better than today’s roster). laycool was somewhat of a beautiful people knockoff, but the beautiful people were a knockoff of PMS back in wwf days. charlotte wasn’t a fit for the divas title because she had no charisma or looks. eve is hands down TOP 3 best divas champs, and her heel run was a thing of beauty.

Charlotte Flair- Once she got to her 6th or 7th reign as champion, I started joking that Vince owed Ric $20, and Vince just didn't want to pay him back. lol
WEHAT? Candace was almost Trish level. She was a Torrie Wilson type and worked her ass off to be a dominating champion! I give her so much credit for not being a pretty face with no skills. She became solid.
21:00 Becky's return and win was a highlight moment! It brought Becky's story full circle. She had to relinquish the gold to an overpushed/overhyped Rumble winner and came back to squash an overhyped/overpushed Rumble winner to get some gold back. IT WAS PERFECT STORYTELLING...which is why WWE had to ruin it a year later with the unnecessary rematch.
The problem with Rhea’s current reign, and it’s NOT her fault, is that she’s the champion of a division and yet barely interacts with them. She’s one of the best women wrestlers, who barely wrestles. And WEE have done an AWFUL job building the rest of the division as well. She’s basically a glorified valet as champion.
"Glorified valet" she's the freaking leader of the #2 stable in the company.... She's also had more then 3 matches in 6 months and defends her title on average of once every 30 days. Plus all the House shows and such
Almost fully agree with you, apart from the bit when you say it's not Rhea's fault. I don't agree that she's blameless - she's clearly Triple H's number one favourite woman and has been since NXT. She has enough pull and influence to ask for things and get it. If she had a problem with the current situation/booking, she could speak up and get what she wants from Triple H. I think Rhea absolutely loves her booking right now and has no complaints (despite the damage it's done to the rest of the women's division).

The trouble with Rhea's current run as the champion is that Raw doesn't have anyone else over enough to make a credibly interesting matchup. Becky being the obvious exception but she's busy putting over the NXT crowd and there's no way WWE waste that match on anything outside of Wrestlemania next year.
And Nia Jax coming back doesn't help either. Either she loses to Nia so Nia can lose it to someone else right away or Rhea beats her and now everyone else feels like they have an even lesser chance of taking the belt off of her.
Your logic is flawed. Nobody get's over if they're not given opportunites or built up with some creative effort. Becky is carrying out the role that Rhea should be doing - giving title opportunites to others and helping them to get over. If you want to go deeper than that, I'd say Becky (non-kayfabe) cares more about the women's division and wants to help others. Rhea (non-kayfabe) is clearly out for herself and doesn't give two damns about the women's division - aslong as she's rubbing shoulders with the top men in the company via Judgment Day storylines and getting attention online, she's content. An exceptional time where a women's champ is not actually involved with the women's division.
Toni Storm at that time was a bigger star than Rhea from what I remember, but Rhea had that aura about her that screamed she was going to be the biggest star.

Roxanne was the right choice to beat her, but they needed to keep feuding after the title change to keep her big, and there was no one at Mandy's level on her departure. Still not, and they had to pull Becky in to help build some up. Gave a good boost to Tiffany as her win was only as biggest heel by default which they needed for a chase.
They treated Roxanne like the third wheel in the Gigi/Jacy storyline. Which did her no favors.

It will forever be criminal that Bayley carried WWE's programming throughout the pandemic, and they had NOTHING for her at WM 37. Talk about an absolute slap in the face.
Asuka is one of the most consistently undermined women's champions in WWE history. Every title run that she's had on the main roster has been undercut by poor or inconsistent booking.
I can not BELIEVE how badly they botched Liv's title run.
If WWE had taken their women's division seriously from the beginning, there would be a whole lot of women's champions throughout their history that would be getting more credit now.

I heard rumors that it was suppose to be Bayley vs returning Becky at WM37 but for some reason WWE scrapped it. Instead Bayley got beat up by the Bellas.
Here are the issues with Liv's title reign.
1- horrible cash-in "match". WWE decides to put the belt on an incredibly over babyface, but the agenda is always "gotta keep Ronda strong," so she goes out there and immediately almost loses despite Ronda being injured.
2 - IWC goes full hypocrite and labels her title win as heelish despite the 2 previous cash-ins being babyfaces right after the heel champion had a match... and, more importantly, forgetting that Liv also wrestled a multi-woman ladder match earlier that night.
3 - HHH took over creative, and it immediately looked like he didn't want her as champion. He overbooked the hell out of the Ronda rematch, and regardless of whether Liv tapped too early or if it was the actual plan, he made his brand new pure white meat babyface look like a cheating heel in her very first title defense... cause Ronda has to stay strong above all else.
4 - after retaining over Ronda, Liv's sitting outside the ring smiling as if she knew she got away with some bs. Ok cool... will they start slowly turning her heel like her obsession with the title is corrupting her? Nope... really gotta sell that armbar and keep your babyface champion out of the ring for multiple weeks.
5 - underwhelming Shayna feud? Oddly enough... the only title defense she actually just flat out won clean after her finisher.
6 - Extreme Rules could've been a great way to put her over Rousey without any of the nonsense from the previous match, and the finish was ok, I guess, but there was no follow-up and Ronda didn't literally nothing with the title except drop it back to Charlotte. Liv, in the meantime, pulled a Kofi Kingston and apparently forgot she was ever champion while becoming this masochist? Idk...

Everything you've said is correct except number 4. HHH may have taken over as head of creative, but that doesn't mean that was his plan. It was still recently enough after Vince resigned in disgrace that a lot of the story line was still set Vince story line and it SHOWS especially in Liv's title reign. A pointless burial for the sake of "challenging" the wrestler (BS they want to make sure the wrestler is only as over as they want them to be) screams more Vince plan than it does HHH, especially with the relative size difference of Liv Morgan compared to any other member of the Women's Division not named Alexa Bliss. I strongly believe that that was Vince doing that as the new management hadn't fully taken control yet at that point. For more supporting evidence, just look at how terrible Rey Mysterio's World Heavyweight Title reign was. Literally gets destroyed every week and loses most of his non-title matches during that reign, never looking strong and like he beats his opponents instead his opponents beat themselves.
@morgantaylor84 I think you mean #3... and as much as I'd like to agree with you, plans can change at any point up to and including during a match itself. So let's assume the overbooked mess that was Ronda-Liv at Summer Slam was Vince's plan, HHH had every right and all the power to change it... and he didn't. And it's not like this was the only time this has happened under HHH's reign with her. Look at the lead up to Elimination Chamber this year. I only remember this because I brought it up to SRS in their postshow, but Liv tapped out to Asuka twice during the week leading up to the chamber match, but she passes out to Asuka and Natalya both having her in submissions during the match to "protect" her? What??? There's just been so little attention to detail with her that idt there will ever be another swell of fan support for her as creative never seems like it'll make consistent sensible decisions with her.
The main thing I feel is that she shouldn't have faced Ronda again. Ronda is always going to be portrayed as this ultimate beast and in that sense, it would never make sense for liv to be able to beat her. The logical thing to do would be to avoid that, not have liv butt heads with Ronda and have no conceivable good way of winning.
@blacktytrix the funny thing is, had Liv won at Money in the Bank without getting zero offense in... and maybe land the Oblivion to get the pin, and then the Summer Slam match just ends with her getting the pinfall without tapping out and spending the next month not competing, her title run looks vastly different. It's simple yet made completely ridiculous by trying to push one person and protect the other at the same time.
I will say Roxanne wasn't stripped of the title, they set up a match just in case they had to strip the title and then she returned and walked in to the ladder match as champion
The whole thing was just bizarre.
And Roxanne has never been able to fully get her momentum back.

Almost fully agree with you, apart from the bit when you say it's not Rhea's fault. I don't agree that she's blameless - she's clearly Triple H's number one favourite woman and has been since NXT. She has enough pull and influence to ask for things and get it. If she had a problem with the current situation/booking, she could speak up and get what she wants from Triple H. I think Rhea absolutely loves her booking right now and has no complaints (despite the damage it's done to the rest of the women's division).

The trouble with Rhea's current run as the champion is that Raw doesn't have anyone else over enough to make a credibly interesting matchup. Becky being the obvious exception but she's busy putting over the NXT crowd and there's no way WWE waste that match on anything outside of Wrestlemania next year.
And Nia Jax coming back doesn't help either. Either she loses to Nia so Nia can lose it to someone else right away or Rhea beats her and now everyone else feels like they have an even lesser chance of taking the belt off of her.
Your logic is flawed. Nobody get's over if they're not given opportunites or built up with some creative effort. Becky is carrying out the role that Rhea should be doing - giving title opportunites to others and helping them to get over. If you want to go deeper than that, I'd say Becky (non-kayfabe) cares more about the women's division and wants to help others. Rhea (non-kayfabe) is clearly out for herself and doesn't give two damns about the women's division - aslong as she's rubbing shoulders with the top men in the company via Judgment Day storylines and getting attention online, she's content. An exceptional time where a women's champ is not actually involved with the women's division.
