Damn, a 3 count and Survival Series in the same day!
It is a good day
Yes it is!
But this means more waiting for cool content
A trilogy for you:
Ivan Koloff- First Transitional Champ
Stan Stasiak- Second Transitional Champ
Iron Shiek- Third Transitional Champ
Iron Sheik- Best transitional champion :)
The Pedro Morales pic is actually a picture of Don Morraco, come on guys. The only Puerto Rican World Champion 🥺
Don’t you mean Chavo Guerrero?
@@ziggysteveno, that's actually Don "The Rock" Marraco. Look up his pic
Shameful... Yeah thats don, not Pedro
Just a note: HBK was offered a title run multiple times in his second stint and turned them down because he didn’t want to be on the road that much.
I questioned this a lot as a kid. But looking back, him with the spinner belt wouldn't been cursed. 🤮
I think that's also why he was on Raw for the majority of his final run. Working Smackdown would conflict with his church schedule,at least that's what I remember hearing
It's just incredible how my opinion of Shawn Michaels and Jim Cornette have basically entirely inverted over the last 5-10 years.
Roman hasn't been on the road much and has been champ four years.
Luke... Luke... here we are again with yet another heel turn. You're the Big Show of Wrestletalk!
WrestleTalk really feeding us good today, wrote a 3hr Gr12 history paper with 2 essays and WrestleTalk rewards my hardwork with a 3 count and survival series
THANK YOU!!
I remember when Smackdown came to do TV in my city when I was a kid. I was leaving school and saw Edge & Vickie stopped in a convertible by the cross guard. I don't think I've ever marked out harder.
Do you remember what episode of SD it was?
@@freakfoxvevo7915 Actually I remember it was the Championship Chase Tournament, that's what it was, because Edge came back at the end to win the battle royale
You put in a photo of Don Muraco as ic champion instead of Pedro Morales
Thank you Luke!! Mark Henry’s title run is sooooooo much better than folks remember…really good stuff…always surprised me that he didn’t get another run with big gold.
I started watching wrestling during that time and saw him as such a beast. My favorite run with the belt.
Completely agree. It was a short time, due to the injuries, but man did it make people look at him differently. Man got the respect he deserved and continued to receive ever since.
@@wingedparagon4448 precisely. He came out in that salmon colored suit and I went “oh here we go” and then he snapped and showed Vince and co what they’d been missing out on for a decade.
Hall of Pain Mark Henry was my childhood. And I’m happy to see that run getting the praise it deserves
can’t agree more about with the mark henry take, I absolutely loved the hall of pain run
THE PIC OF PEDRO WAS ACTUALLY DON MURACCO
To be fair. When JBL got his push. The Rock left, stone cold had left, Kurt left. Within a few months, Eddie died, and CB died. WWE was struggling for main eventers
Benoit had died a few years after JBL was a main eventer. Unless you mentioned Benoit dying separately from Eddie dying a few months after JBL was a main eventer
Not only that, but Triple H didn't want to work Tuesdays.
For that matter, JBL's main event push was over by the time of Eddie's passing... Batista finished his feud with JBL for the World title and moved on to Eddie...
I always thought JBL was good but I want alive during the time so maybe it was different live
Kurt Angle was there for almost 2 years after the JBL push
Superstar Billy Graham (Rest in Peace) wasn't the one to bring up unionization. Jesse Ventura was the one to do that.
I might be wrong but the picture of Pedro Morales looks like Don Muraco
You are right, that was Muraco
that is Don Muraco with the IC title😛
Vince's favorite wrestler when he was young was Dr Jerry Graham, kayfabe brother of Superstar Billy Graham, who was Hogan's favorite wrestler
JBL's push was essential to John Cena's career.
@@LYE333 he needed a convincing win over a champion that never lost. No other scenario would've solidified his push
Batista “My World Champion” when I was 8 years old flipping through the channels I saw badass Batista come out to I walk alone hitting that pyro with the big gold belt and that’s when I fell in love with wrestling so I’ll always say the world heavyweight title will always be my favorite championship and Batista was my favorite wrestler
That's not Pedro Morales, that's Don Muraco
7:57...That's a picture of The Rock Don Muraco, not Pedro Morales.
For Seth’s Universal run I’d say banging Brock match; that SummerSlam match was awesome!
I know it doesn't count toward describing his title run but I saw Psycho Sid and immediately went "is it Sid"
Other then del rio, 2011 was the best year for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Big Dave’s longer reign is up there.
Looking back on it, 2011 and maybe 2012 was a good time for the world heavyweight championship; so many good runs and storylines in that time period
That wasn't Pedro Morales. It was Don Muraco holding the Intercontinental Title.
The fact they put that in...
kind of pissed me off being puerto rican i was looking forward to seeing Pedro and I get Don one of his rivals 😢
@@shoryuken9735 how they mixed them up is beyond me. Just shows how little these guys know...
I cared about Jericho & KO's story so much, that I forgot that KO was the Universal Champion & I didn't know that everyone saw KO & Jericho feuding for the Universal Title at Mania 33.😅
Actually it was for us championship, universal was between Brock and Goldberg
@@shreyashmishra16 I know that. It was originally set for Universal Title between Jericho & Owens, but Vince changed it.
Which led for Jericho to leave WWE in May 2017 & then go to NJPW In 2018, then go onto AEW in 2019.
@@Boy123Jim ah gotcha..
@@jansmitowiczauthor78 greatest royal rumble happened in april, which was his last match in WWE
big show's WWE title reign: "forgotten second run"
The fact that there's a pic of Don Muraco instead of Pedro Morales tells me that Pete sourced the graphics. 🤣
3-Count and Survival Series on the same day. That's what I call a good friday!
3 count, Survival series, a big smackdown episode, all on a Friday?
Can’t get any better than that
Here's everything you need to know about Stan Stasiak title run:
After Brunos first title run, Pedro Morales became the new ultimate babyface champion.
Stasiak won the title as a heel from Pedro.
9 days later Stasiak loses the belt to Bruno Sammartino.
3 words or less: transitional champion 😁
What's funny is the guys saying Bob Backlund was the longest transitional champion. Super funny because I never thought of it like that. 😆😅😂🤣😭
Wait… Pedro Morales’ pic is DON MURACO
That isnt Pedro Morales!! Thats Don Muraco!!
19:33 Oli: "You really pushed the limits of English to get that in three words."
Me: "For the previous entry he said: "Held Belt Upside Down."
That was not Pedro Morales that was Don muraco with the intercontinental 😂😂😂
I thought I was the only one who saw that😂
You two absolutely make my day
What about going back further with the World Heavyweight Championship and doing it in the NWA/WCW days in 3 words or less?
Mark Henry’s run was probably the best WHC. But I think Christian “1 more match” run was very good as well
The only run I remember for Undertaker was his American Bad Ass run where he tried to murdered Jeff Hardy.
Randy Savage: Hogan Hindered Push
JBL: Original Jinder Run (I hated him so much for ending Eddie's reign!)
Guys, when you got to Pedro Morales, you didn't show a picture of Pedro, That's Don Muraco.....
Big show was a two time champion. You can’t say he just won it because Austin was injured. He also beat Brock for the belt in 2002.
Why did they have a pic of Don Muraco for when they were talking about Pedro Morales????
Where does the "enjoys good catering" bit come from?
Just a note: i grew up to jbl being champion. I hated how he always won. He played his heel gimmick perfectly. He came to my city where wwe hadny come for 19 years, jbl was the absolute man. Met mysterio, rvd cena, guererro, dvon and jbl. Jbl and guererro were my favorites to meet!
"A bad idea"" for Slaughter popped me
For the next one Luke: Championship felt Big. "Made feel big" made me chuckle tho.
19:05 In Khali's defense, so did Diamond Dallas Page.
19:17 "Gave it prestige"
That’s Picture wasn’t Pedro Morales it was
Don Muraco with the IC Title
@7:59 ...Are you sure that is Pedro Morales???...It looks like Don Muraco to me.
Personally my favorite money in the bank cashin, is Batista in the bank on John Cena after elimination chamber. Nothing beat that, that's forever be #1
Huge missed opportunity to say "butts in seats" for Foley
The Acclaimed scissor Oli and Luke sword fight 😂
You missed the boat with Cena... I'd've said 'Woooooo Can't See', for tying the Flair record... Or 'Can't Avoid Me' or 'Cena wins LOL' for the Super Cena era...
I love these In 3 words! I never learn soo much and laugh soo much in the same videos 😂
Looking back, i actually enjoyed JBL as the wwe champion. Was a decent heel and set it up perfectly for cena to take at wrestlemania. Was it as good as brock vs angle for the previous year or brovks fueds with badass taker, no. Jbl still did good though, in my opinion.
I love how you guys put a pic of Don Muraco when talking about Pedro Morales 😅😅😅
11:55
“It’s… an exciting moment.”
I died.
❤
Um that was Don Muraco not Pedro Morales
You have a picture of Don Muraco in Pedro Morales spot. Fire the editors!
The JBL era was an odd one. The matches during the course of his run were mostly poor, but his character work was excellent. Genuinely carried himself with the presence of a main event heel, and he was extremely easy to hate (from a kayfabe POV).
Your photo of pedro morales was actually Don Muraco. How could you get it so wrong?
Glad Luke mentioned the Hall of Pain run. That period of time Mark was an actual menace that I still remember till this day.
Man, you guys make some of the best content on YT. Keep up the good work, you legends are the GOATs of Wrestling YT!
When did Pedro turn into The Magnificent Muraco?
JBL is just Chuck Taylor with a cowboy hat
Honestly y'all have a series on your hands tag titles, mid card titles women titles. Not to mention u could do other companies. This is very entertaining
This is a nice review and future way to understand the actual state of championships in WWE. You have 2 big stars in each brand, they both can or will begin a new narrative championship-wise. So, brand split is not really a thing, but it is, and what makes different every championship/brand, the newest belt if for what, this new undisputed is then the most coveted? WWE can have an actual gold mine in narrative terms to build awesome stories for a while.
Only after 2002
The Undertaker had a very Memorable run in mid 2002 as wwe undisputed champion and again in 2007.
Character wise in 02, not reign. Judgement Day v Hogan...fought injured HHH at KOTR. Only Vengeance was his good ppv match in 02.
In 07, he was WHC, not wwe champ.
Man Sid should have gotten the ball and belt in 1992, beat Hogan, Flair or Macho Man for the belt instead of the 97 run. All those big names in 92 he could have steamrolled through to show him as a dominant champ.
In regards to your 3 words on Billy graham, Dr Jerry Graham is actually Vince Jrs favourite wrestler but he did like Billy Graham and wanted to turn him face. Vince Sr on the other hand did not like Billy Graham as a face and only put the belt on him because Vince Jr suggested it as a way to transition to Backlund.
At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if Oli named his kid Phil or Punk 😂
Rob Van Dam - Up In Smoke
Jinder Mahal - Awesome Ring Entrance
Bray Wyatt - Booked Into Corner
Triple H - 2000 Best Run
Mark Henry - Ultimate Late Bloomer
Vince McMahon - Better Than Arquette
Bruno - Thought was Backlund
His LJN figure i assumed as a child was Bob Backlund from bobs 93 run....
Vince's favourite wrestler was Dr Jerry Graham, who was Superstar Billy's kayfabe brother.
Going off of your "Jericho needed title" thought on Owens as Universal Champion, "Just Beat Goldberg" for Brock as Universal Champion.
Brock finally getting his win back against Goldberg at Mania was climactic enough that it didn't need a championship involved.
I always love these types of videos!! I really enjoy JBL title reign as champion he really had so good storylines with his challenger.
Jbls title run was really good, nobody could draw heat like him
Rey Mysterio winning the world heavyweight championship at wrestlemania 22 is genuinely one of my fondness childhood memories. I stopped watching WWE for a long time after that, didn’t even watch until he dropped the belt but I think even 13 year old me knew the initial win was as good as it was going to get, to me the story ended there
You guys have a photo of Don Muroco when talking about Pedro Morales
MITB cash-ins…how can you forget Punk’s cash-in on Edge, when he charged down after Edge was blasted in the ring during the opening promo despite not actually BEING on RAW yet
Of course, Edge’s original is 100% the greatest
Oh, and LOVE the Clerks/Kevin Smith reference
Would love to see this for WCW.
7:59. Picture of DON MURACO not PEDRO MORALES!
Great video lads
Big show: my first champion.
Of all the times to watch wrestling for the first time it happened during the 5 minutes when Big Show was champion.
15:03 Punk and Hardy main-evented Summerslam over Cena and Orton so I do think they saw them as legit main-eventers. Although they have only given that spot to them because Taker was coming back and it was a TLC match.
Wish Mark Henry got a longer run, but what we got was incredible.
Luke, “way too biased”
Seriously, he shitted on so many guys who “tried their best in the past” but used that excuse for his indie faves 😂
I feel like you could safely describe Cena and Orton's entire career as "boring".
Their careers were good, I always enjoyed them. I feel like people especially older fans hate on them more because they came after Rock and Austin but the two had great matches and rivalries with different wrestlers
@@donazard8884 Didn't like Austin or Rock either.
@@GreaserManI thought I was the only one who hated Rock and Austin. 😮
@@Speedyreedy1218 Nah nah, they're waaaaaaaaaay overrated.
@GreaserMan Where were you during my childhood?!
Great to know I wasn't alone.
You forgot Kurt angle's wwf run championship
At 7:58 that picture is don muraco not pedro morales.
The world heavyweight belt is my favorite belt because it genuinely looks like a WORLD CHAMPION. It just looks distinguished and respectable.
JBL is not overrated , one of the best heels of all the time. Ruthless Aggression was all about him on Smackdown as a heel💯
JBL title run was super underrated no one talks about today
I know this is off topic, but I've been watching this channel for a long time now and somehow only just realised the logo I see people wearing on merch is the Wrestletalk logo and not the Etnies logo, do you guys know how similar they are?
10:36 Stone Cold was actually active in WWF/WWE from 1995-2003.
Meant to be wrestling fans.
That's Don Muraco not Pedro Morales 😂
You guys put don muracos pic instead of pedro
As a half blind person I in fact didn't necessarily notice the change of belt, but I _did_ put two and two together when the alphabet swung back around. So there's that
Bob Backlund I think hold the record for shortest title match losing to Diesel in 8 seconds 😮
Just on the point of "short reigns", long regins aren't always good, imo nearly all the attitude era reigns are way more fun than the longer reigns we see.
