This was a super enjoying video! I really enjoyed it and learned much from it. I have recently started playing raft and I am already in love with it. Also, I play raft on my schoollaptop, so I don't really have good fps even with the tab half closed. Do you know some tips to improve your fps in raft?
I am by no means an expert at Raft, but with the raft that gets trapped in the pond would it not be possible to ramp up from the raft in the pond, build out to the ocean then ramp down again, removing the raft and other parts from the pond? I don't know if this would work but it makes sense to me at least haha
the evergreen and desert islands are actually not that rare, you have to set the receiver to either caravan town or balboa (depending on what you want). This took my quite a while to figure out. Then they will actually spawn a lot (atleast from my experience, haven't checked the max 1k distance yet).
A great method is to use a double angle pieces in reverse to make triangle looking "thorns" stick out of your ship. They count as peninsulas but they are HALF of the resources of all other blocks AND shark will only target 1 half of the triangle.
I'm not sure if you've talked about this in any of your other videos, but one that I've found useful is that if you leave loot on the shark after you kill it (I will leave the head, typically) it takes significantly longer for it to respawn. Once I get to the point where I'm making biofuel, I do loot the heads off of all creatures as they fill the raw food bin halfway with a single head.
exactly. Shark took 3 minutes to respawn after it despawn and once you loot head it despawn. But if you only take 4 piece of meat it took 5 minute to despawn plus 3 minute to spawn and you got yourself 8 minutes of free time and 4 piece of meat minus head.
The deciduous and desert islands appear as green dots on the receiver, so they're technically considered large islands. They also have a trading posts as well, so they're probably not that rare. That being said, there are also polar large islands with the same biome as Temperance. We went around collecting snowmobiles and stumbled upon a few. I've played on a foundation-less run using the half floors and horizontal pillars. Can confirm that islands and trash does spawn. You just won't have access to anchors, nets, or engines, etc. But also means tons of plastic to make paddles. So having a mix of paddling and sail positioning helped "anchor" the floating raft while the crew clears story islands was rather interesting. Had Utopia despawn on us once due to spending too much time with the cutscene.
1:50 I'm so glad they went with this system, I remember back when you have to fortify *every single tile,* I had a massive raft, and got myself a lovely armored border thinking I'd be fine, only for bruce to defy the laws of physics and shove his ugly little mug through solid wood and break the brand new cookpot I just saved up enough to craft. Definitely got me a little upset after that one
I didn't know people play Raft just to speed run it. you said it takes an average of 2 hours to get to the radio tower, lol I have been playing for about 60 hours so far and all I have been doing to collecting the materials needed to make a bigger and better raft. XD
On my second run in hard-core through raft. 10 or so hours in this run and still no radio tower. Because... It is truly taking forever to get fortified up this run. I had bad rng and have been getting attacked by 3 sharks at once eating away at all my plastic. Wood is relatively fine because trees, but I have a hard time getting good quantities of metal this run as well because my shatk baits have been acting flakey. So I have been making store arrows, which goes hand in hand with my plastic shortage. My first run through the game was in hard mode too, but at this point last time I had 2 sharks, which is at least 4x more manageable.
The name of the cruise ship, Vasagatan, is a Swedish name. It's named after a common street name in Sweden, in this case probably one of Stockholm's more notable streets (though other towns and cities may also have a Vasagatan). The streets themselves are named after the notable 16th Century Swedish monarch, Gustav Vasa. The street name is divided into two parts: Vasa (the old King's name) and gatan (Swedish for street), so the correct pronunciation is Vasa-ga-tan, not va-sagatan.
The Pine islands definetly spawn a lot when you have Balbo selected. I only ran into those as large islands. Just like frozen islands with Temperance. However never ran into other dessert islands yet
These were some great tips. Thanks for the one about fortification. I've been trying to test ways to not have to use so much metal. I'm going to give this a try. Note: Just tested the fortification tip and it totally works. My raft hasn't been a chew toy for hours now and i used so much less metal. Ty!
Hmm, I think you could bypass those two "softlocks" using the floating platform glitch. I mentioned it on your discord: it's possible to beat raft without any foundations. Now, it certainly wouldn't be as much fun (unless you are doing it for a challenge) but with enough paddles you could still technically beat the game.
@@rouhi7639 Ok, I just tried getting out of the little pond, and though it is possible, the raft is too high to reach the water with a paddle. So, if you get stuck in the pond you cannot progress. I have beaten Raft without foundations before though (using itemspawner).
Fun fact: the lifeguard game mechanic is a manipulative ploy by the game designers to force more people to open their game. It serves literally no other purpose to force some random person who is probably cooking dinner or enjoying a movie to stop what theyre doing, get your steam info and add you on steam even though youre not friends and allow them on your raft putting you in jeopardy of them just looting all your good stuff and signing off. No strategy is involved with this. Its a completely useless game mechanic that no other game ive ever heard of has.

I found it four times in my previous playthrough. Started a new playthrough in honor of the 1.0 update, I've cleared Caravan Town and still no sight of the damn plane crash island.
Never got the plane crash island, but did get the boat crash island within 2 hours of one of my early hard mode playthroughs. Forgot if a shark killed me off that island. Maybe I died an island after by my first ever encounter with the bird enemy.
For the first trick, me and my friend did this idea where we placed a diagonal roof up against a rock, then he logged out underneath it and logged back in. He glitched under the terrain and could swim around freely.
7:02 or if you play like me it tooks days XD Once i react to radio tower i was already have a 18*22 three level raft with surrounded by fortified nets to catch everything, animal farm, food farm, tree farm, lots of chests with lots of resources.
You actually can get waves large enough to get the raft out of the pond. I changed my water texture while playing about a year ago, and it caused the water to create these waves as high as I could possibly see, plus my raft started dive bombing to the bottom of the ocean, launching to the stratosphere, and literally flipping side ways and upside down. I haven't been able to recreate it though, and haven't seen any other clips of it. I didn't have clipping enabled at the time because my laptop is a toaster, and it slowed down my game too much
I suppose I got luck with my island spawns, then. I've got a Large Island, with a Trading Post, smack dab between Balboa and the Radio Tower, with both story island on radar at the same time. Legit visited it on my way to the Radio Tower as a Tropical Island, revisited it after Balboa and it'd turned into an Evergreen.
I have gotten the lootbox underwater under the Vasagatan in "vanilla". At least I'm pretty sure it's the same one. I found a gap between rocks around the boat that led all the way to the lootbox. My guess is it was patched since you made the video.

About seeds and tree tricks. I want to add one fact. The most broken tree is banana tree, why? Because it has a big chance to drop 2+ more seeds by 1 plant, so, you can endlessly mutiply bananas seeds, and it drops not only bananas and bananas seeds, but planks too... So, this is the best plant to grind on your raft, if you need a lot of planks and food without discovering every island on your way just to chop small amoubt of trees and seeds, which you can't replant with a big chance... Bananas seeds very often give you more seeds by chopping, than you use.
To fix getting stuck in the pond. All you’d need to do is build over the island and back to the water. Granted you’d need resources but it’s definitely possible
Can the second soft lock be escaped if you build over the island using ramps and then building down with ramps back into the water and then placing foundations.
if you wait for a storm and go onto a piece of land which get covered by water when the water goes up if you swim in that the waves will take you through the ground to where you just need to hold ctrl then you can just swim to the crate
It's funny you mention the seed drop rates. When doing palm trees I never run out, but birch and pine I get 0-1 per 5 trees and run out basically immediately.

I don’t know if it’s an official soft lock (probably not) but I got completely stuck on a small island early in the game. Raft got stuck in a U-shape part of the island with the current pushing it in. My paddle broke and I didn’t have the materials to make another on, nor were there enough around the island to use. So there was absolutely no way to get my raft unstuck and I just had to restart. 🤦🏻♂️ Luckily it was still pretty early so it wasn’t a huge deal.

You can escape the pond by building over the island usind stair and floors and then build new foundation and destroy the old
I don’t know if it’s an official soft lock (probably not) but I got completely stuck on a small island early in the game.
130 hours and I still don't have plane island
