The OG raft players will remeber when Jeremiah would eat Any part of the raft so you had to fortify ALL of your foundations... glad they made it perimeter only.
I'll tell you what I wish I knew before I started: You can't build a new raft from scratch. The first little island I saw I just hopped off and let my raft float away, figuring I would just build a new and better one now that I had access to trees. Whoops! And I didn't realize I could just drown myself and respawn on the raft, so I restarted the game. Also I didn't realize I could pry metals and salvage off the ocean bottom using the plastic hook. The symbol I got when looking at it seemed like it was indicating some new tool to me. So my only way to get metals at that point was to get lucky from a cooler chest.
if you time it right, you can hit him at just the right moment that he doesn't hurt you. But if you miss, it takes him far fewer hits to kill you than you him.
I'm in the middle (hopefully twords the end) of a big sewing project that's been avoided for months and my desk space is all messy and everything feels all gross and upsetting, remembering raft and coming across ur vids again made me all nostalgic and kinda pulled my head space out of "gotta sew gotta finish aaaaaa". Thanks ♡
Nice tips! Some additions: 1. Difficulty: When start a game preferable have a plan for what items to craft in what order, particularly on hard. 2. Hooks: Prioritize materials according to the plan. 3. Research Table: Reject items already put in, along the list shows what is missing (and needed) for learning something. 4. Smelter: Need to be researched with a Dry Brick, Wet Brick (sand + clay) does not. 5. Shark & Foundation Collection nets can be fortified. Breaking unfortified triangle (with axe) give all resources back even if damaged, square the half. 11. Raft expansion: Utilize building up. Keeping a small foundation in early game save resources and easier to fight off a shark since short to move. Only a few items/devices have to be put on a foundation (4x4); Anchor (3x3), engine, water collector, paint drum. Use half pillars, give resource back along can be used for floor as "shelves" or making stairs. An anchor can have some collector nets as part of the needed foundation. Also 12. Interior options/tricks: Items can clip into others, if do not mind the esthetics. Also only a part is needed to be in contact with the raft. Some stuff have the options to be placed on walls or hung, or on floor. Carpet can be used to clip certain devices through a floor/foundation.
Bought raft at christmas about a year ago. Didn't play it because it confused me and I couldn't get the hang of it. Thank you for making this video it was very helpful!
Man I remember when I was a total newb to this game and struggled to get scrap and stone to build up my collection nets I couldn’t figure out how to get metals and the like but I could SEE the materials underwater. I finally figured out that I was supposed to pry them off the ocean floor with a hook and I felt so silly. Needless to say survival was made easy with the bigger grill and water purifier. 200 hours later now I teach my friends how to play raft. I call myself raft mom haha keeping kids fed and make sure they have water
You skipped over the fact that islands disappear from underneath you if that initial 4 square raft gets too far away. That one even got me and I play on peaceful.
11. Diving Helmet from Island Shop - don't waste your waste. it's just decorative equipment like pirate hat and has NO effect on underwater exploration. wearing it underwater is same as just holding your breath. bummer.
Hey one question, if you set up collection nets in a straight line like in the video, what can you do to ensure your boat is facing the right way and the wind doesnt make the line go straight into the trash?
anyone know how to find the four beginning foundations? I'm just realizing that after expanding my raft that my nets wont even be useful if I don't know where the four foundations are 😅
I named most of the animals in my Playthrough. Shark= Barbara Seagull= Steve Screecher= Scary Terry Warthog= Pumbaa Goat= Pamela Clucker= Cluckles Llama=Kuzco
The game world is tied to your Raft. Meaning if you stand on an island and just let your raft float away, eventually tge island you stand on will "poof" out of existence
anyway, it was amazing experience. really feel like journey where I'm lost in ocean and trying to survive there. thnx for the tutorial, like the raft on world loading chapter)))
You wish you knew exactly what is written underneath the difficulties in the menu? Like its literally right there before you start the game. And telling people that they can throw the hook upwards for a longer throw? Bro tell people to remember to breathe while you're at it.

when did they change this ?
i just fortified a 10x10 on Hard with full metal not knowing the change and too scared to find out
I think it was always supposed to be this way, him attacking the center pieces was rarer and janky looking
Bro i remember this it was so annoying
I lost 4 beds, 1 water purifier, 2 grills, and 2 research tables to Kyle (my shark)

Same thing happened to me with the ocean floor materials. I felt like a silly goose when I finally put two and two together
As a beginner, I didn't know you can kill the shark as it lunges at you. Most useful tip.

Wow, this was long but helpful
Hi Alidove, you are one of my favorite raft TH-camrs and I love your videos. I just started my first world and is on the second story location. ❤❤❤
I've been playing and watching alidove for a long time, lmk if you need someone to play raft with! 🌝

The shark is called Bruce. It tells you that on the Radio Tower

Ur really the only person I go to for tips on raft thank u for the tips and tricks ur amazing 💯🔥🔥

Well that’s your fault for not anchoring your raft 😅
@@genie3531 Yes, when I leave my boat in real life my island also despawns.
Fun fact, if you do a jump-crouch, you can actually get into the trading post, leaving you perfectly safe from screecher rocks
11. Diving Helmet from Island Shop - don't waste your waste. it's just decorative equipment like pirate hat and has NO effect on underwater exploration. wearing it underwater is same as just holding your breath. bummer.
that's good to know, just started and saw that and wanted it.
Very helpful video, even for me an experienced raft player, I did not know everything, thanks
Got stuck for 5 hours before realising that you can dry bricks to make smelters. Accidentally threw 5 wet bricks over the side as well
Watched 7 videos on Raft basics and this one is best.
I prefer Peaceful now for my 'learn how to build a raft. Because I want to learn before I want to move forward. Then I'll be moving up.

Sunken land…on water/underwater,boat building, pve only. Lots of base building and furniture to craft. ✌️😎
Great video! My rafts always want to go backwards or sideways. Do the 4 starting squares have a front and back that effects direction?
What I did not know and I wish I knew when I started is that you can actually fish without a bait.
Is there any way to find out which of my 4 starting blocks are the centre of my raft?😅
anyone know how to find the four beginning foundations? I'm just realizing that after expanding my raft that my nets wont even be useful if I don't know where the four foundations are 😅
There's a mod that does it
on veruna point in the boss rooms are 16 openings with air and some of them contain golden heal stuff
Wait… How do you get this in third person? I didn’t realize there was a setting for that.
I named most of the animals in my Playthrough.
Shark= Barbara
Seagull= Steve
Screecher= Scary Terry
Warthog= Pumbaa
Goat= Pamela
Clucker= Cluckles
Llama=Kuzco
4:45 shark- I’ll be taking that ( look closely at the shark before the next part)
Hi!
Could you make a vid showing you main survival world?
Thx a lot, but it's out of dated already. If you put armor on all side platforms, shark in my game starts to eat next one from inside. Hate it
Both Passive & Aggressive

I just kill the puffer fish with a spear, didnt even ocurr to me using a bow underwater.

Why do you call him Geramaia??? His name is Bruce!
