I really love how they broke the 4th wall by making the audience being outraged by Ging's behavior toward Gon clearly expressing how we as the audience felt, pure genius. I want to think that one of the reasons Ging was not close to Gon when he was in the hospital was because he needed to keep an eye on Pariston since Pariston represents a bigger menace to everyone.
That and from his PoV it would have been an insult to everything Gon did up to that point because it would come off as pity and him not having faith in Gon's recovery.
I think the thing with Ging is that despite his incredible skills (both physical and mental), people tend to not buy into the hype, while he tries really extra hard to be cool.
No, Ging didn't care much about Pariston at this point. Hell he was ready to almost leaving the elections. The reason why he didn't visit Gon is precisely the reason why he partook in the election for the while he did, and that is respect for the will. He joined the election to further Netero's will anf he didn't go to meet Gon because that's not what Gon would want from him.
lol the irony of Ging sending Gon to Kite because he didn’t want to meet his friends. only for it to backfire as Gon ended up meeting Ging in front of almost every member of the Hunter’s association.
I think Gon's real superpower is his ability to compartmentalize his emotions so well. Morel realizes this very early in his evaluation of Gon when he says Gon gets serious only when he absolutely must. Even grown adults with high emotional intelligence would find this hard to do and yet it comes so naturally to Gon. I think Gon is written in this wonderfully paradoxical way where he is incredibly mature beyond his years and yet he is undoubtably still just a kid who holds on to his innocence and curiosity for life apropos for a boy his age.
Real genius in real life has that duality. They are childlike with a purity of passion, and the single mindedness to get shits done. Nothing could get in the way, that concentration and focus one has when one was a child is carried through to the day they die. All truly talented people have this down to a science. Ruthlessness.
One of the best episodes in the series. No matter what anyone says, that scene between Gon and Ging is wholesome. If Ging really didn't care about Gon he wouldn't have been so thrown off. When Gon said that he should have died, the way he switches up immediately and for the first time acts fatherly is proof that while he is really bad at conveying it, he does care. The important thing about Kite's ability being behind his reincarnation is that it breaks the narrative Gon made in his head that Kite sacrificed himself for him as a result of his weakness, and so he had to atone for it in some way. In reality Kite never "sacrificed" himself because he had a way out. In a sense, Gon was right from the beginning to have faith in Kite, the problem was that it was blind and fragile faith that shattered the moment he saw his corpse, and how betrayed he felt as a result. Basically Ging was telling Gon to not confuse Kite's mistake for his mistake. Pariston shows parts of his true self in this episode, it's difficult to get attached to his character when he's introduced so late in the show, but I think Togashi did such a good job writing his character to be interesting and nuanced with several sides and an emotional core that makes him feel human despite everything. And yeah, the Killua section of the episode is definitely the best. I was worried when over the past few episodes you seemed to agree that Nanika needs to disappear for Alluka's sake. This episode is where we see HxH transcend in its storytelling because a lesser story would have just treated Nanika as a plot device/deus ex machina to help the protagonists and go away when it loses its usefulness, but Togashi is better than that. He wrote both Alluka and Nanika to be *actual* people with feelings and agency, Nanika isn't just a tool that can be discarded once she serves her purpose in the narrative of healing Gon, she isn't just an inconvenience. And I absolutely love that Alluka showed that she was even willing to cut off Killua if he didn't apologize, she is the one who finally broke the chain of co-dependence (which started with Gon and Killua but now included Alluka and Nanika) by having clear boundaries even for Killua. Killua's character arc really continues until the very last moment. This moment kind of mirrors how in real life, some people who belong in a minority think that the only way for them to live is to be separated from the rest of society, which is the same as accepting the arguments bigots use. This is what Killua did here, he accepted that Illumi was right and that Nanika is an inconvenience, so he had to be called out.
I personally think the hate Lola and Milena have for Ging is a little bit too much overboard. Yes, Ging is an asshole but Gon never wanted to have a paternal figure and pretty much Gon is like Ging since Gon tends to be heavily selfish in what he wants. Plus of that I consider to be borderline hypocrite how much they condone (to an extent) the Spiders (literal criminals and assassins) but not an absent father.
@@ozzcoremidmx8287 I mean, I don't think it's overboard, it's because Gings flaws as a character are extremely realistic, he's a very realistic depiction of a deadbeat dad, he's not away for a grandiose honorable reason, he's not away because he's an extremely evil person that has an evil plan to rule the world and what not, he's just a garbage dad, he's a deadbeat cause he's a deadbeat and that's it. Don't get me wrong, Ging is an absolute deadbeat of a father but he actually had good advice for Gon there as their first conversation. When you apologize you promise not to do whatever it is again. That's a proper apology.
Gon wasn't magically reset to episode 1. He just said "I have to apologize to Killua" meaning he's well aware of everything and that he does understand what he did wrong now that he is not blinded by anger. However, he also said "I should've been the who who died" meaning he still thinks the same way about Kite's death. He's the exact same Gon from the previous arc but without being angry basically. That's why Ging stops him there and explains it was mainly Kite's fault and not his. And that although he should still feel responsible, the right thing to do is to apologize and to promise to act differently next time, instead of wishing to die in his place.
Gon's headspace and his reflections on everything that happened in the chimera ant arc not being explored, and his apology to Killua being off-screened, are the only objective flaws i have with HxH.
Gon never felt that his father abandoned him, for him it was a test. That's why he doesn't ask for explanations of why he did it and all those things that anyone would expect from such mistreatment, he apologizes for what happened with Kite, I think Gon is on the same wavelength as Ging but in reverse, for him what his father did is perfect, remember that his aunt Mito raised the issue and he got angry with her. Ging managed to make Gon think that way, quite terrifying.
Well first off, Ging isn't Gons biological father and he was never involved in raising him. Gon was raised by Mito, she's his adoptive mother. Ging is his friend and inspiration, not a father figure.
@@crazysundii294 so what? Youpi is a magical beast, an alien with monstrous power and endurance. And Ging is in a room full of cows and donkeys. Killua could take that audience out in half a second.
To think that Lola and Milena at one point believed that Ging was capable of going to the Chimera Ant Palace and jumping off a dragon to help Gon. And now we see him here in front of Gon without even getting up from his chair.
Lola's analysis of how she represents Alluka and Nanika with a message about what trans children experience is fantastic. It is very accurate, Illumi calls her "he" and treats her as if she were a thing for being "different". She is not accepted by the Zoldyck FAMILY.
Appreciate the writing of Alluka in this episode, one scene added so much depth to what was previously seemed like a 1-D character. And let's be honest Nanika is the cutest thing in the verse.
I don't know if this has been discussed, but just in case. Killua ordered Nanika, “Never listen to anything other than me again”, to which Nanika replied "Kay". This literally means that from that point Nanika will no longer be able to grant any wishes other than Killua's, which is why the family has decided that there is no longer any need to keep Nanika locked away.
La escena de Killua y Nanika en este episodio es una de mis favoritas y que me hace llorar cada vez (aunque Meruem y Komugi se llevan el primer lugar). Sus reacciones nunca decepcionan.
definitely Ging and Silva are equally rotten. 😂 they should never have children. But then we would not have Gon and Killua who are diamond and sapphire. The irony. I don't like any dad in HxH. They all suck. Remember Gyro's father? Holy hell. What a nightmarish and ugly reality. HxH is hyper real and closer to life than life itself.
@tng2022 They're definitely not equally bad lmao. Silva is easily worst. I'd prefer an absent father than an abusive one. But good point are there any good fathers in the show haha? Kurapika maybe lmao.
Yeah but from a universal point of view, as a human, if you can't take care of a child, you should not have the child to begin with. 😂 Doesn't matter where you're from. As a human anywhere, not having a father is not the end of the world, but the children of single parent are definitely different from children with mom qnd dad. Just a human angle. Either way I agree that having single parent or no parent do not determine your life. Some people can still grow up beautifully and sensibly. But in the case of HxH where we see a lot of examinations of what a family is, or different methods of rasing children, I think Togashi is very intentional in his social commentary and critics. It's important to note that Ging is portrayed as a guy who is not meant to have children. 😂
It should be noted that Gon no longer has Nen. Nanika only saved his life by removing the corrupted Nen and rebuilding his body. That's why in this arc he stops being the protagonist of HXH.
Despite winning Pariston eventually lost in what he intended to do, extend the election as long as possible furthering Netero's will. So in a way, Cheadle lost the battle but won the war, anf later also won the battle after Pariston resigned.
Pariston never care if he wins or loses. To him it's all just passing time. He has bigger fish to fry. He was just trying to provoke Ging and in all front Pariston is one step ahead of Ging in the election, and 2 steps ahead in the expedition to DC. Later on Ging and Pariston team up because they only have eyes for each other, and only want to do DC with each other, no one else. 😂😂😂 It is a little perverse but I think Pariston and Ging get a hard on from each other.
@@mrstarkerYep, Cheadle didnt win shit, Pariston already completed all the preparations needed, so he didnt need to be in the hunter associstion any longer. He just did a last troll to end up all cause he has no bussines left in the Hunter Association.
If I'm not wrong they didn't talk about pariston in the discussion right? usually i get disappointed for reactors that didn't talk about pariston's character at this episode because i really find him interesting and yet reactors didn't care that much so that contradicts my pov. Now the thing is even if LM didn't talk much about pariston i still love these reactions because of their emotional intelligence, they're more on love and friendship in this HxH reactions which i see them as the most genuine reactors in all of the reactors I've seen.
Tbh we still don't know that much about pariston or anything at all really outside of some sides of his personality. He was clearly being set up for future arcs ( i don't know if he appears later i haven't read the manga past the anime ending ) but sadly i guess we will never know.
@@Zura-Janai I did read the manga and yes he appeared. Pariston is such a cool character. This arc has him serve as a central antagonist yet it was basically just a character spotlight into how he operates. At this point in the story we know basically nothing about his long-term goals, we know nothing about his Nen abilities, and yet already he’s a well established character.

People forget that despite Gon's actual breakdown happening in the stretch of some 30 eps, the entire scene happened and ended in an hour. Nobody suddenly changes into the thinker because of that especially not a kid. I would have definitely preferred Gon's conversation with Ging to be more serious than goofy, considering how badly it affected Gon. 2011 also turned his later scenes too cheery and childish for some reason, manga Gon post CA felt more apologetic and mature.
Folks always talk about Komugi and Meruem's death making them cry but the Nanika and Killua scene always makes me ugly cry. I fucking love familial bons in media, that shit hits different dude.
Another super emotional episode with the bond between killua, alluka, and nanika. Such a beautiful episode and leads into another that is probably going to make you both (and me) cry LOL as always it was so amazing seeing your reactions
Even if Ging knows what to do in that situation what exactly is he going to do? Gon was crying and talking non-stop in front of everyone. If they were alone Ging will response differently
Before World War II, Japan had a patriarchal system, and the father was an absolute presence in the family. That doesn't mean he was necessarily a tyrant, but there's no doubt that he flaunted his dignity to a certain extent. Even so, it has been said that in Japan, "history is made at night," just like Shakespeare's Macbeth. In other words, there were many families where women were in control. After the war, the patriarchal system was abolished, but ironically, because of that, the number of families where fathers were bossy increased. It may have been because the system no longer protected them, and because Japan lost the war and the dignity of Japanese men fell to the ground, so they had no choice but to be bossy. I don't know if Togashi's father was like that, but I think he was probably from that generation. In Japan at that time, it was said that "it's better for the father to be healthy and away from home." By this standard, Gin would be a convenient father. (If he bring money to his family) As an unnecessary addition, Westerners say that Japan is behind in terms of gender equality and LGBT, but there was no time in Japan when homosexuals were put in prison just because they were homosexual. I think that in many cases, activists who complain about gender equality are just making a business out of it. I think that Japanese society has been pretty balanced for a long time. Otherwise, we wouldn't have many unique works from male and female writers. Sorry for always using automatic translation.
"Another L"...this anime is flawless and it's not necessarily a mistake, he was happy when he heard it from Kite. Hearing it from his father himself hit him again, it's very reasonable @@DisProfundis
@@eraldocoil9051 Nope the anime is simply not flawless. And the manga is superior to the anime, in writing aspect. This part is redundant and doesn't make sense for Gon to be act so surprised when he already knows about it, there's no need defending it.
If someone like Pariston looked at me like that and said "I'll get serious about toying with you". I'd fall to my knees. I'd fake my death. That was more intimidating than Hisoka, Illumi or Mereum.
Ging said the word “多分” (probably) when he was talking about Kite’s survival. So Ging was just theorizing it with the little information he had. (Kite was captured, Kite has exclusive roll that will only come out when facing a serious threat, etc) It’s the pretty much the same as him thinking that Gon won’t die because Gon has a number of reliable friends. Ging never directly stated that Kite’s Crazy Slot has a conveniently similar power to the Chimera Ant Queen’s phagogenesis ability. I’m still in the camp of Kite’s brain was simply consumed by the Queen. a Nen user’s brain is highly valuable. There’s no way a Royal guard like Pitou would pass it up considering how it would benefit the King.
what if it's both? His crazy roll somehow protected his personality while his brain was consumed, idk. Because he was born with his memories intact, him being protected from being turned into meruem food etc.
Gon's trauma will end here, having no more Nen and having lost Kite, Meruem's sister is only his reincarnation, she is not the Kite who knows Gon. His goal was to find Ging, nothing more, nothing less.
She knows Gon. She has Kite's memories and feelings. But Gon is definitely in a good place now. Free of goals. Now he can really focus on what he wants for himself and what to go after when he grows up. I love that Gon and Killua have time out after the CA arc. They need some rest and reflections. And some childhood. Children should be children. Even though I miss them a lot, I'm happy that Togashi let them rest for a bit before they come back into the game.

Ging and Gon are similar in that they are both Hunters. That is it. 😂 The rest are day and night and moon and sun. Gon is a much more loyal and devoted friend, and he has Killua and Kurapika and Leorio. Ging can never have a friend like Killua. 😂 forget it Plus, Gon was raised by Mito so he is much more emotionally intelligent. Also Gon is way more talented than Ging. When Ging was 12 he sure was not as capable as Gon.

The amazing art skill involved in turning this creepy mask-like face into the cutest, most heart-wrenching expression is commendable. Nanika really is baby
Nanika with her black eyes and lips are adorable. It's always so innocent. Nanika's smile is so pure.

Pariston is such an interesting character
Pariston is definitely a great hunter, he also plays with his preys like a sadist. He is one dangerous foe and valuable ally.
They never talk about pariston
The review is all about gon and gin hahahahah
Don't get me wrong, Ging is an absolute deadbeat of a father but he actually had good advice for Gon there as their first conversation. When you apologize you promise not to do whatever it is again. That's a proper apology.
Except when Ging said "there's this rule, do you know it?" Gon should've replied "No because you weren't fuckin there to teach it to me" 💀
literally peak fiction.
just finished showing two friends hxh a few days ago, glad more people are witnessing this masterpiece.
Lola hitting the wall with the pillow made my day! 😂🤣
@@rikudou947 it wasn't off screen wtf
@@faustovii1085 lmaoo
Ging: "Yeah."
"Is that all you have to say, you idiot?"
With that delivery has to be the funniest line from the audience.
@@grimscarWdym? Who is his biological father?
When ging said I'll take u all on he meant it, he is actually capable of clearing that room by himself 😂
that's nothing to brag about. Killua was zapping Youpi and no one knows about it. 😂😂😂😂

Lola Low Brow trying to pronounce negligent was comedy gold.
How sad the final scene of Killua asking Nanika not to go out again, for fear that Illumi will hurt her. It breaks my heart. 😭😭
Why is everyone talking about the Ging and Gon scene lol
Alluka and Killua are the most beautiful siblings.
an absent father is better than a bad father.
definitely Ging and Silva are equally rotten.
An absent father is a Bad father.
we were not different from the zodiac family. We also judged nanika for what she looked like...
Please read volume 0 (Kurapika's memories) it's very short.
Yeah but from a universal point of view, as a human, if you can't take care of a child, you should not have the child to begin with. 😂
Doesn't matter where you're from.
Man, this man Pariston has crazy aura, you just never know what he's thinking
It should be noted that Gon no longer has Nen. Nanika only saved his life by removing the corrupted Nen and rebuilding his body. That's why in this arc he stops being the protagonist of HXH.
Pariston is genuinely one of my favourite characters in this show.
It is a little perverse but I think Pariston and Ging get a hard on from each other.
Given the events that are about to transpire, the election was always just a sideshow, a tribute to the chairman.
Pariston intended just to troll so he didn't lost at all because he had his fun while showing and successfully done his tribute to netero.
Election is just shitshow. He didn’t won neither lost but he definitely humiliated Zodiacs showing that this is just a fraction of his power
The build up right now is crazy: Ging vs Pariston, Kurapika vs Princes of kakin and there's also the troupe and hisoka, zodiacs, mafias and many more interesting characters. Pariston is such a cool character. This arc has him serve as a central antagonist yet it was basically just a character spotlight into how he operates. At this point in the story we know basically nothing about his long-term goals, we know nothing about his Nen abilities, and yet already he’s a well established character.
147 is the last opening of the show, btw.

Ah the episode the audience is truly spoken for😂😂. i Knew yall would go crazy over Ging vs the Crowd😂, the fact that hed rather kick everybody’s ass than be a father always gets me
Imagine meeting your father for the first time since he abandoned you when you're a baby and the first words you say are "I'm sorry I turned your friend into a little girl".

Another super emotional episode with the bond between killua, alluka, and nanika. Such a beautiful episode and leads into another that is probably going to make you both (and me) cry LOL as always it was so amazing seeing your reactions
Pariston's voice actor is the same as Hisoka's voice actor in the original Hunter Hunter from the 1990s😃
Even if Ging knows what to do in that situation what exactly is he going to do? Gon was crying and talking non-stop in front of everyone. If they were alone Ging will response differently
Pure kind reactions i just can't believe this you both awesome.
Dear god ladies we’re almost done the series, I’m breaking down all over again 😭
(If he bring money to his family)
As an unnecessary addition, Westerners say that Japan is behind in terms of gender equality and LGBT, but there was no time in Japan when homosexuals were put in prison just because they were homosexual. I think that in many cases, activists who complain about gender equality are just making a business out of it. I think that Japanese society has been pretty balanced for a long time. Otherwise, we wouldn't have many unique works from male and female writers.
Sorry for always using automatic translation.
30:28 when he heard "again" it stood out to him because he didn't know that Ging knew that Kite had hit him

This one came early, not complaining tho
Just two more to go :)
so excited for the next one 😭😭😭😭😭
Ging said the word “多分” (probably) when he was talking about Kite’s survival.
So Ging was just theorizing it with the little information he had.
(Kite was captured, Kite has exclusive roll that will only come out when facing a serious threat, etc)
It’s the pretty much the same as him thinking that Gon won’t die because Gon has a number of reliable friends.
Because he was born with his memories intact, him being protected from being turned into meruem food etc.
plssss read hxh manga on video plssss
4:50 LMAOOOOOOOOOO
9:20 So am.i supposed to pretend that i didn't hear a JJK reference? You doing it?!
wait how was that a jjk reference?
peak x peak
What did you think about Ging before he was featured?
It's literally Kite, all his memories are there.
