    #Mandalorian #PlotHoles #Season3
Now let’s talk about seasons 3 of the mandalorian. This season was weird. It had its highs, its lows, and some stuff that was just…well that dind't make much sense. So we asked all of you to send us your plot holes and unanswered questions on my twitter and our community page, and on screencrush dot com. So we’re here to answer them as best we can. Ready Doug?
So let’s do this. At sailor dark Jupiter asks, “how did Grogu catch up to rescue Din? I may have missed it but I thought he had escaped through the hole with the other Mandalorian. The troopers were right behind them the whole time so where/when did he sneak off to go back for his dad?”
So this is one of those things that’s not really a plot hole, it’s just something that happens offscreen. The other mandalorians went through the tunnels to get to safety. I think that Grogu probably got to safety, but then turned back down a different tunnel to find his ad.
Doug in jail: then how did he find him?
Pretty obvious, they have a strong connection, so he used the Force. After all, Leia was able to pinpoint Luke’s exact location in Empire [clip].
Caleb Peterson asks, “What kept Gideon from intercepting Mando and Grogu before they eliminated all of his precious clones?” Well first of all, he didn't know they were going to find his clones. R5 was scomped into the system, so I’m sure he unread all the security cameras and perimeter alarms.
But I’m going to choke this one up to good old fashioned villain arrogance. He only left 2 guards on Din, he just sent his fleet to wipe out all the mandalorians. He thought he won the day, and was probably going off to watch the video of Pershing getting his mind wiped by Kane. heavy spoilers even compared it to this [austin powers clip].
Doug [in prison]: You're ever gonna get me out of jail? It’s scary // in here
Along those same lines, Josh Millman on twitter says, “Opening locked Imperial doors? Impossible Hacking into & sabotaging an Imperial cloning lab? Gimme 5 seconds”
I mean, Josh, is this your first time watching Star Wars? R2-D2 mapped the entirety of a station the size of a moon to find leia like, immediately. Lance Line on twitter pointed out that “A piece of glass prevented Grogu from using the force.” I think what you're talking about is Din being trapped away from Grru. Presumably Grogu could have fought the guards or choked Gideon.
This got me wondering if maybe it is harder to connect to the force through objects-or at least to maintain a physical connection to the force when a physical object is in the way. At any rate, grogu is still a novice force user. And I don’t think he choked Gideon because-after training with luke-we mostly see him using the force for defense, like pulling weapons out of the way.
But Corbyn Red on twitter disagrees with me there, saying, “How did Grogu at the end somehow have ridiculously strong Jedi powers and barely collapse afterwards? Is he already more powerful than Yoda?”
First of all, he pulled the same fire bubble trick in season 1. Granted, there was a lot less fire. He did train with Luke since then, and hone his Jedi abilities. Favreau even implied that he was with Luke for years, which…geez this timeline is weird. I also think that him facing the trauma of order 66 would have helped him to finally unlock greater connection to the force. We see Cal kestis do the same thing in fallen order-after confronting the death of his master, he’s suddenly way more powerful in the game.

They probably get so many questions that they couldn’t answer them all otherwise. I just feel like in our society the way it is people are going to use what means they have to make money. I think an important thing a lot of these videos are leaving out is that Gideon directly said his armor was not pure beskar. When he's introduced in the suit he says it's beskar alloy. Which likely means the imperials were not able to fully replicate the mandalorians metal work. They had to make an alloy instead of working the pure metal, which likely also meant it was weaker than the mando's armor.

The Spear from season 2 is pure Beskar as well as Din Djaren's armor. Your theory about Hux and Grogu makes sense. In fact, I’ve long wondered why IG-11 had the orders to kill Grogu, when all the other bounty hunters were instructed to take him back to Gideon. Perhaps Hux, or one of the other Imperial warlords, got wind of what Gideon intended, and decided to eliminate the “Target” to prevent his plan from coming to fruition? Just a thought

The third seasons content was heavily based on the animated series which sets up Ashoka as well. The initial Mandalorian fans not familiar with the animated series seam to struggle grasping the ark of the season and may do so with the Ashoka series as well.

I'm glad you showed that Clones Wars clip. Because that episode shows you where the myth about the Darksaber granting rulership to Mandalore came from. In that episode, Maul became ruler of Mandalore because the current ruler was imprisoned, and Pre Vizsla had not yet been anointed as Mandalore's ruler. Almec told Maul of a Mandalorian law in which Pre Viszla's army would be born and to serve Maul if Maul bested him in combat. Maul killed Pre Vizsla and Maul became the legal ruler of The Watch and the owner of the dead man's personal effects; and he took the position of rulership that the dead man would have soon had. Evidently, people afterward associated the Darksaber with Mandalorian rulership. And that makes the whole myth finally make sense to every thinking person who noticed from the beginning that something didn't make sense regarding a tradition associated with a sword that has only 1 owner. The Darksaber didn't make Tarre Vizsla ruler of Mandalore neither did it unite Mandalorian people; Tarre Vizsla did those things. After him, the sword was kept for 1,000 years by the Jedi in a sort of museum. Apparently, rulership became associated with the sword because of Maul taking rulership over Mandalore at the same time that he just happened to become the legal commander of The Watch and in possession of an artifact belonging to the Jedi Temple, stolen by the dead man.

Paz only ever said in regards to the Darksaber that it was forged by his ancestor of house Vizla. To Paz, it's a family heirloom.
His exact words to Din when he thought he had won the blade were, "Fate has brought this blade back to my clan."
Paz says nothing about using the Darksaber to Mandalore.
The Armorer is the Spiritual leader and historian of her clan. She gets the significance and history of the Darksaber, but doesn't revere it. The Armorer and The Children of the Watch put more stock in walking The Ancient Way, the Creed, and The Songs of Eons Past. In BoBF, the Armorer says, "Bo-Katan Kyrze was born of a mighty house, but they lost sight of the Way. Her rule ended in tragedy."
It's only when Bo-Katan says she saw the Mythosaur, and walks the Way, that The Armorer gets behind her unite the Mandalorians and retake Mandalore.

@@bomafett The Children of the Watch are not Death Watch.

@@lteelana correct, they are the CHILDREN of the Watch - probably literally the children of one of the warring factions, given that one of them is a Vizsla, the Armorer has horns on her helmet, and some of them even have the DeathWatch sigil on their armor.

15:40 "I don't think that Gideon KNEW that Din escaped"
Gideon absolutely, unquestionably, undoubtedly knew that Din escaped. At the episode's 6:16 Gideon says to a stormtrooper: "But the Mandalorian has escaped" (as he's watching the exact hallway schematics of Din and Grogu running around, knowing exactly where both of them are)
Unfortunately the Clone room destruction was bad writing. I'll forgive it because of how little there was overall. But that was just a terrible plot point

    • @LastDrebinGameing
      @LastDrebinGameing ปีที่แล้ว

I think Gideon new dinn djarin escaped but he wanted to take care of djarin himself. So as stupid as it may sound to some but I really think Gideon didn't expect djarin to get to his clone and/or even find his away through the base. Gideon in his suit felt undefeatable and made many bad calls.

    • @caddyboi7347
      @caddyboi7347 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@LastDrebinGameing I respect the fun way of rationalizing it but I don't think we should cater to the bad writing. The more fans cater and make up backstory/character motivation, the more we're going to get lackluster writing. The Sequels and subsequent content are a prime example of this phenomenon. Fast and Furious is an example. Recent MCU is an example. Etc
I love Star Wars, I will not stop watching it. But the fans themselves play a major role in deciding the quality of the Star Wars content that is put out. If it is stupid, call it stupid. If it is great, call it great
He can see where they are and the direction they're going on the map scan in the dialogue scene I referenced. Even a villain driven by stupidity and rage could make the logical deduction that Mando is going in Direction X. If Direction X is in the same direction as my clone lab, maybe I should stop him before he comes to the clone lab
Again, it's all good, the episode was good enough for me to look past it. (Side note, Screencrush even acknowledges that Gideon knows Mando escaped in the video released directly before this one. I'm guessing they recorded these out of order and slipped up)

    • @bomafett

One other thing about Gideon crushing the Darksaber: I’m willing to bet he’s wearing modified Mandalorian Crushgaunts (shuk'orok), which augment the wearer’s strength to an extreme degree.
In the Legends continuity, Boba Fett and his Mandalorians used shuk'orok to great effect against Yuuzhan Vong vonduun crab armor. Fett later sent a set of crushgaunts to Han Solo during the Second Galactic Civil War as part of a “here’s something to help you kill your Sith Lord son” care package. Jagged Fel later used that same set of crushgaunts to kill fallen Jedi Alema Rar.
So yeah. I’m willing to bet he crushed the Darksaber because he was wearing crushgaunts.
