I have finally persuded my old guy band to cover this. I'm a drummer. This tune is fun to play and it's even better when you nail it. Hushed and Grim is a classic imo.

CTS came out my senior year of high school and instantly became one of my favorite albums of all time, and I still firmly believe that it's one of the greatest albums ever made.

I turned it off at exactly 1:00, there was absolutely no reason for me to torture myself any further, but I'm 100% sure that the live sound was tremendous! I'm a bit older axeman & sound engineer, and I can tell u that it used to take 2 completely different & separate sound systems if you wanted to kick ass both live & on the TV broadcast. I think it's much,much easier, better & 'ass kickier' now to crank up both @ the same time, but it's gotta be expensive, too! So if I was on a tight budget, I'd go 'all in' on the live experience, too! 🤘

@@mgtkmg So nothing like Metallica then 🤦🏻 Not to mention Mastadon are completely different genre of metal. Metallica are predominately are speed metal/thrash metal Mastadon are prog metal, stoner rock and experimental metal. The song you just listened to, is prog metal.
It would have been nice if Brent's guitar was actually in the mix, Sound guy or gear fail either way this video is awful and does not do the band any justice imo.
Live they are great, audio engineers have always had a hard time getting these guys to sound right on live recordings, but I promise you if you saw them live, it would be like you’re in a studio except waaaay louder lol
