I just love how the guys from mastodon just don't take themselves too Seriously. Fucking hilarious and talented dudes. I'm so excited for the new album.
“This is coffee and beer that statement...it doesn’t make sense at first, but it’s quenching and ok in the end” That’s quite possibly the best analogy I’ve heard in a long time.
Been using that for the last 4 years. Im pretty confident in claiming that this analogy alone has brought me to having a 7-figure job, beautiful wife, 4 kids and a two time wrestling championship
Few bands fascinate me like Mastodon. From their backstory (meeting through Matt Pike live) to their ability to release fresh and unique material - never had a less than stellar album These guys get it.
Axl Rose as....on a spraycan as jesus ? on top of the amplifier. An Opeth logo under Sanders' left arm. An Iggy pop action figure next to the books on the right behind the interviewer. My little sisters guitar and keyboard in the corner Pretty much looks like my bedroom
It's an axle rose saint candle. very big among mexican catholics. but without axl rose. usually catholic saints. not a fan of nick-nacks... but that is awesome. i'm a bit jealous. I kinda want the whole series. anybody know if they make a Dave Mustaine one?
Dude I fucking love mastodon so much, their musical style and technicality is so good and without a doubt have the best singer-drummer I think I’ve ever seen in my life. And not to mention after seeing videos like this one, they all seem to be genuinely cool, and easy to get along with individuals
There 1st practice on my birthday 2000 ..cool always liked brent uused to see him around the bars in bham grew up not far from him very proud of him theve done great
I love how the interviewer says "CHAR-VEL" as though since he's never heard of Charvel nobody else has either and we should make fun of this obscure brand nobody's ever heard of.
The deadpan on this man is insane. Also, little side note, anyone living in Philadelphia/able to travel to Philadelphia (this doesn't include me unfortunately), quick PSA for you guys: I came across the mother of all gigs the other day: Mastodon, Opeth, Gojira and Eagles of Death Metal with Devin Townsend Project and Russian Circles opening for them. Wish I could've gone, but don't let my downfall be yours too!
I was wandering around youtube and found More Than I Could Chew. It led me here and this guy seems to be very generous with Graham. Watching this video makes me want to go find more music of his. This happened to me too with Ghost. Never heard of them until someone added "He Is" into a video tribute of Till Lindemann. Now I'm a fan pf Ghost. So,I'll see how I feel about Mastadon after listening to some more songs of theirs. :}
I'd say the chances are higher, now that Greg is free from Dillinger commitments and Max already finished the releases for Cavelera Conspiracy & Soulfly.
I think I'm obsessed with this band haha after hearing all of crack the skye last year, there's not one day I haven't play their music since! The last baron is a masterpiece same with the czar!
@@velvetrogers4721 oh I definitely listen to all of em. Love the hunter, empower of sand, once more round the sun, all em. I usually cycle the album every week haha
I jus saw them in pgh, absolutely fantastic show, everyone was great, energy was insane, such talent but also really funny too! Had a blast and I wish them the most success!

I expected him to be a sarcastic asshole but he's actually really cool, down to earth and articulate. He threw in a little sarcastic humor, but it wasn't in an obnoxious or annoying way.
Bill and Brann are from my neck of the woods in western NY. I learned about Mastodon from a friend in college, "Hey, there's this really awesome band I think you'd like. Two of the members are from the Rochester area." I just thought, okay, I'll give them a listen. And I was hooked.
I still remember when these guys stayed at my friend's house in Memphis. Legion of Divine Punishment was the band whose house it was; Gray Morgan, Adam Able, Lev Hughes, Richie Wood, and Bad Doug, whoever he was. Lev, Richie, and I had played together in the unfortunately named "Gutter Bitch" (Rich's insistance). Brann played me the drum line from TITD's "Honor" on request and later that night Troy (I think) asked if we all wanted to hear some new stuff they had been working on and broke out either a tape or cd and pressed play. Out of the stereo came some crunchlord riffing and overall amazing stuff, and as the last notes died away he said with a smile, "That one's called 'March Of The Fire Ants'." Fuckin' awesome \m/
Troy Sanders is the guy who could talk absolute nonsense articulately.
Troy is such a calm and witty guy but such a beast on stage, absolutely love the man.
Todesnuss yeah he's awesome, on stage at mingle wood hall Tennessee he shouted me out on stage (the reason why is because I'm 10)
They do get that wrong sometimes
They do, ya know...
And some other times... they get it right
No they don't

You mean the handshakes?
I just love how the guys from mastodon just don't take themselves too Seriously. Fucking hilarious and talented dudes.
I'm so excited for the new album.
arthur trajano So now that I’m reading this two years later, was it worth the wait for you?
@@rnbtheadventuresofrhettbri1933 And what about NOW, 2021 November?
YO THATS SO TRUE, they are really funny and talented band
Forget Morgan Freeman, Troy Sanders will narrate the span of human existence.
Underrated but great comment. It deserves more likes.
He does have a lovely voice
I support this
😂😳
Yes,you got it

yeah, you take what you're served
Troy is such a down to earth guy. Met him once when I was 15. One of the coolest guys ever
I met Greg Puciato and he signed my carton of almond milk.
You so shit lucky
Lucky you both
Troy’s gotta be one of the funniest guys in metal. Nearly every interview I’ve seen of him cracks me up at some point. Witty dude
And he keeps his face serious at all times which makes it even funnier.
#HandshakeFromHell \m/
That shit was awkward
kinda funny too
Loudwire Anyone pumped for Mastodons tour with EODM? I am!!! I'm going!🤘🏻🤘🏻
Loudwire pls do his brother one day. its kyle sanders would love to hear frome him! pls pls pls
Henry Matteson oh hell yeah I did not know about that.
That beer and coffee metaphor! I'm gonna use it

Troy is awesome. Great dude.
Troy just being absolutely vexed by the last question about the "cut concept album" is amazing.
Saruman is a metalhead great to know
Christopher lee actually made a metal album. He has also worked with several metal bands.
Troy and Graham are both fucking dope. Great interview. Can't wait for Mastodon's new album! I hope it makes me break shit.
HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE HIM
“Ever order a coffee and they bring you beer” that’s my favorite line
Brent would have been more suited for this kind of awkwardness.
Towern Portugal is the shit. And agreed for Bill. Or even Brann shit.
That would require Brent to remember even half of the shit he's done.
I think Troy is perfect for this kind of thing. No wonder he's friends with Josh Homme. They almost have the same style of going with the flow.
Get Mike Patton on the show damnit
Axel Bergström his already been on this show like a month or two ago.
+Lizzah L Ummmm no, he definitely has not. You're probably thinking about Mike Portnoy.
Good luck lmaoo
Why? He's just gonna deflect the questions and eat an apple again...
look at crack the skye in the background
megaman exe my fav album!!!!
theres also the logo from opeth underneath it
would ya just look at it
I wrote my novel to Crack the Skye. Their music really does facilitate creativity.

John Prather Joe duplantier of gojira, his signature guitar is a charvel

I'm lucky to live 30mins away from where the creator of charvel started, and have one from the early 90s

Troy, what a beautiful magnificent funny beast he is.
So is Killer Be Killed not a thing anymore? He didn´t mention it. It´d be a shame if they did end the project, they were a great group of musicians.
Daniel Rodriguez he's making a new album with mastodon right now. Probably only has time from mastodon right now.
I'd say the chances are higher, now that Greg is free from Dillinger commitments and Max already finished the releases for Cavelera Conspiracy & Soulfly.
Neigh Slayer Yup Max said in a recent interview that he's starting work on the new Killer Be Killed album.
Some magazines affirmed Killer Be Killed second album was to come in 2016. I'm guessing once Max and Greg finish their tours, it'll be finished.

I believe that's either Mark Morton or John Petrucci.
I want my life narrated by Troy Sanders.
SHINING!!! Nice shirt, Graham!
still waiting on a Marilyn Manson fact or fiction
Saw them For the first time at Rockville in Daytona Beach Florida I was very impressed
Awesome video, been waiting for this one!! I think Graham needs to do less talking over the guest, just let the man speak!!
This is the second time I have heard the Coffee and Beer analogy this week.
It is Tuesday.
Of all the bands these days, Mastodon seems like they have the most fun.
Fact or Fiction; Mastadon played in front of me, my bass player, and about five other people in Athens, Georgia in a garage in early 2000's
Like a fine wine...Mastodon gets better with age. Especially their earlier pieces, if you will.
Troy is the man.
I can't believe how even more in love I am with him. 💜
He's a good dude.

He reminded me of Jeremy Clarkson when he was talking about beer and coffee. Funny guy
ahahahah hilarious interview! Troy is the man.

Troy and Mastadon kicks ass! My first bass was a Yamaha RBX 250. My second bass was a Euro made Spector bass.

I wish these were longer.
Who of them is not willing to shake hands? I can't see it, although I feel that Troy is willing.
ahahaha the hello kitty guitar in the background
this might be the best FoF yet
Killer video I just got into these guys again recently!
Great episode. Just saw Gone is Gone at the Troubadour. Uh-Maz-Ing!
Is that a With Our Arms To The Sun hoodie he is wearing? Great Band!!
The dude looks like a caveman, but one of the most eloquent speakers I believe I’ve ever heard. These guys are great
My first bass was a Fender Precision bass. Sadly, I don't play bass anymore, just guitar & ukelele.
That was pretty funny what Troy did in the end there. What a fucking awesome bassist, that writes my most favorite music ever.
