I thought the original boss music of generations was generic and boring, It needed an awesome rock song emphasis that sonic has been standing strong for, well generations, that he had good times and some slip ups, but now he stands strong up against a 3 monsters who want to erase it all, it's now or never. And sonic youth would have been the perfect song for that final battle
That's because with Time Eater's theme, it's a fight With Super Sonic's theme, its a victory lap That's the thing I love the most about Sonic OST as a whole. Yeah you're not gonna die as super sonic if you're good but thats not the point, because the super sonic fight itself is not the challenge, getting to it is. The final boss in sonic games, unlike basically all other game franchises, is a celebration of the game as a whole because Super Sonic is _supposed_ to be unstoppable
You know, adding a game to this song makes the song itself one of those "So happy it makes you wanna cry" type deals. Sort of like it's saying "This isn't the end or goodbye. Just a longer see ya later."
I miss when sonic final bosses had badass uplifting rock music. It always felt less like "ooh big scary final boss" and more like "sonic is gonna kick your fucking ass now"
If Generations ever gets a port for current gen consoles (Albeit made by Sonic Team this time) they should definitely make this song the main theme. It fits perfectly - it was made to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Crush 40, just as the game was made to celebrate Sonic's 20th anniversary.
This song has to be in the remaster it would help out so much, the fight still wouldn't be perfect but at least it'd be in line with the rest of the series
This Song plus the 2 Sonics fighting a monster eating the timeline is really emotional it's kinda so rad, and god imagine like an orchestral version of this song for the game it would be so Rad

It should've been the main theme of Generations.
It fits perfectly. The game is celebrating the history of Sonic the Hedgehog, and the song is celebrating the history of Crush 40.
It's funny how a simple soundtrack change can transform a normally mediocre boss into something that's actually kind of fun to watch.

A bit of a misconception, only the 3ds version was made by dimps, the console and pc versions were a Sonic team game
