Just got this setup, put it in my scx10.3 Gladiator! Thing was a beast before now it’s unstoppable!!! Love the control and power variant on the 3300kv!🤙👍🏻 keep it up bud love the content!!

Never really got into crawling BUT i really like how SCALE this rig acts on the terrian i will %100 give it that awesome aspect! I would deff try crawling with something as realistic as possible how the suspension and body roll reacts while crawling pretty cool brother👍 i have my Rcmax 55 ans 80cc for goin FAST and now my 8S baja 5B too! Nothing for exact realism like this i like it!🤙👊👍
Nice to see this rig back in action. Your Gen8 videos on USTE made was one of the things that got me my first crawler. Now I might consider getting the second version...maybe with this latest Axe also perhaps? 🤷🏻♂️

I got the hobbywing 540 and 550 using a raw 500 on both rigs and I’ve never had motor/servo interference

That looks like the new power system for my trx4. The axe system has been out of stock forever!!
Actually that servo is pretty good, I run it on 7.4 volts of a bec, it's quite strong and fast. I got a jx ecoboost 36kg and 0.1 sec, that is almost the same from feeling when driving. And it has a wider steering angle than the jx.

I have been running the OG 3300kv 550 AXE in my Gen 8! The body falling off is one of the reasons I changed to a Creep body!
LoL yeah but man in some ways it’s kinda neat if it happens at the right time.
I had a problem with the same setup when I went to the 3300kv. No problem with interference with the shorter 1850kv. Running Savox SW121. Used a piece of sheet metal on servo to fix.

Seems to be almost identical power and speed of a stock trx4 Sport. Which is niiiice! Love the look of it!
@Ty Little I love my Sport, honestly as far as 1/10 scale with a full body and not a full on comp buggy the trx4 Sport is king! The motor in it in this particular video seemed to be power wise like my Sport was stock.
@@ponypwr No. Trx4 Sport is Like The 2100kv 540er Axe Foc. 2700/2800 and 3300 have way more Power and Topspeed. But also great Low speed Control.
@@runnerbaba Only going off what I see in this video. My Sport is ALOT lighter than this gen 8. You are correct as far as specs on paper and the power of the motor itself. The power of this motor in a heavy gen 8 "looks" to perform like the power of a stock 21t in a light weight Sport. My Sport stock would wheelie from a dead stop, this gen 8 with a more powerful motor... not so much. Now that motor in a Sport would be sweet for sure. I was comparing apples to oranges. Apples to apples the stock motor in fhe Sport has nothing on this motor. My 12t is more like this motor as far as kv.
@@ponypwr i have the 1800kv in the sport, it is a bit slower than stock. the 2300kv is a bit faster.

Hello bro, yesterday i got same combo the 3300kv Axe. The motor box included a pinion ..the pinion fitted perfectly into the Gen 8 trany. But i wonder if there's better pinion for this reg. Any recommendations? Thank you from a follower from Spain 😊🙏💪💪💪
Well we haven’t seen this kid come out and play for a while, glad to see it and hope Vitavon will make our axles for it. I know you’d have to get them Joe. You like Vitavon the same as I do to there high quality. You don’t have any Vanquish do you Joe?

That's a monster. Did you keep the stock pinion (17t) and spur gear with this axe system upgrade?
Same size pinion but this motor has a 5mm bore so I had to use a different one. Still 17t

I was surprised they didn’t bring the 2700kv 550 R2 out first as that seems to be the most popular version. I was considering this for my TRX4 Sport and was wondering if the 3300kv is too much or if I’d still get good control?
Control is there no problem. I just ran the 2100kv in my Sportish and man it did great!! I hope to have that one up tomorrow.

BTW there is no need to turn ESC off and on again after programming, you just need to click on disconnect button in the app ;) But I also realized it after 2 long months with AXE :D
I tried that with this one and it simply didn’t drive at all until I turned it off and back on. I’ll try again and see.

Redcat needs to get the price on the Gen8 v2 down to $299. Even with the crazy Traxxas price increases, $329 doesn't make the Gen8 that much better of a deal than the TRX4 Sport. I'd own a Gen8 if they were still $299 but at $329 it just doesn't hit the mark for me. Bummer, as I'd like to try one out..

I’m considering ordering this system for my wendigo, do you think this system will work well with stock gearing and will solve the cogging when on rocks, I also have other smaller 5mm pinions down to 14t if needed

What is the life span on one of those motors? Regular use, bashing, no water or mud, easy crawling and trailing mostly. Ball park, I know there are a lot of factors but a ball park

I can but the difference will be simply more torque and speed on the 3300kv
Is the ESC able to be setup & programmed without using computer, phone, or laptop???
It will plug in and drive but if the rotation is reversed you’ll need to connect to it. There may be a way with the remote but I don’t know that way.
What pinion would you go with on that I’m putting it in my gen 8 too
Well you see the 17t. Heck I’d probably my do a 20 and see how that works out.
I just got this hobbywind axe for wendigo i am turning it in to a crawler l should have enough power to turn them 2.2 tires what gear did you put on the 550 can you said the stock was a 17 did you put the same 17 back in ?

Yes, the punch is stronger and it can do normal drive/brake/reverse.

Wonder is they put less "twist"(stagger)in the rotor to pick up power?
I know they staggered the crap out of the first AXE systems which really reduce torque by destroying the magnetics. The Fusion doesn't have any twist to the rotor and they cleaned up the start-up by actually doing more tuning.
I haven't taken this one apart but its supposed to be staggered like the first axe motors.
Is it waterproof so I can take it through water crossings.
The system is but water will get into the axles trans and tcase. You will have to service them afterwards.
