I’ve asked my local hobby store about this new R3 set up…they haven’t heard of it yet… Great review and answered all my questions…..I pre ordered one to save some money ….seems like a great price for a 1/6 scale set up.
So I am building a 1:10 10x10 based on TRX parts. Would this be a good motor/ESC for that heavy beast, as I am expecting there to be some unavoidable binding issues? I was considering the 1700KV, not the 2000kv.
The level of Hobbywing is so high that even if the new one are better for sure also the old one are still very good. I appreciate not to throw money because something becomes old as a new one comes out. Ciao!!
I think the advantage is this motor and a different sizes that it Hass can be used on many different categories of cars, and there will be no compromise.
The Hobbywing Axe 550 3300 kv on 3S is my go to for all my 10th crawlers (excluding hardcore comp rigs) & trail trucks. Amazing low speed control and crazy wheel speed when needed. Easily connects to app to adjust settings. I’ve got 10 of those systems in various platforms. My first was in the Redcat Gen 8 Axe edition. It’s been ABUSED for over 6 years including being submerged & mudding all the time and it’s still going strong!!
That’s my favorite combo I’ve beat the hell off mine on my tf2 the past 3yrs. Unfortunately my set button somehow broke an after I updated my esc i couldnt calibrate it so I had to order a new esc other then that not one issue.
@@RCReviewChannel thanks! Oh, I know it. Good value I believe. I went with a similar level Radiolink and have been happy with it so far. But I allways pay attention to what comes up. Flysky has some good stuff.
I’ve been waiting for a review on the AXE R3. Was gonna get the other for my TRX6 but now I’ll just wait till this is out lol. Also, any chance the bigger motor will fit in the TRX6?😂😂😂😂
So instead of actually improve cooling, they just made it larger? On my comp crawler I have a high kV outrunner 10x smaller geared down on a 20g 6s quad esc, it snaps axles like nobody's business and ripps loose on all mediums. It even bunny jumps from standstill. Why would one use a heavy brick motor ontop of your crawler? Down gearing is more efficient than lower kV motors since the electric losses are way higher than the gearbox losses. The best way is therefore to have more precise gearbox with lower ratios matched with a high kV motor.
This ESC works with the new bigger motor, but it also works with the existing 550 motor and 540 motor. Cooling is really not much of an issue especially with the very little fan. The compatibility with 2S-6S batteries is a huge deal.
Hands down the best reviewer in my opinion. Crucial to the hobby. 💯and the builds are amazing to see them in action too. Great job

Great product for scx6. Fusion se made me a believer.
I've just put the 2000kv 4274 R3 combo in my SCX6 on 3s.
The low speed control is pretty bonkers, just as shown here.
That looks about the size of the SCX6 motor. What ya think the top speed would be in the 6 on 6s?
Love the auto drag brake on my r2 system. Might be time to upgrade
Finally a proper crawler combo for my Traxxas Summit 😍🙏
Castel had This system in many years now…
I use it in 2 Of My Crawlers🤷🏽♂️
Mamba X WP 1406Series Slate 2850kv Crawler Edition…. 2S-6S….

I wouldn't see how you could fit that in a crawler that thing looks huge I wouldn't think that it would work that great in a 1/10 scale
The video is out now, and the performance is incredible from crawle speed to 20 miles an hour.
@@RCReviewChannel i have a 11lb sttel caged crawler that has gone 37 mph with the r2 (:
I'm looking Forward to see a Test on a scx6
Have you found any other than Exocaged?

Yeah, hobbywing is really so far ahead of the game.
@@RCReviewChannel Right! Thanks for answering appreciate.
Can’t think of too many applications where I’d wanna run 2-6s but I guess more options is always good

1/6 scale?

Can this be used in on road cars like arrma infraction ?
Is it better than the fusion pro for a 1/8 heavy cross rc emox 4? What do you think? Great review as usual anyway.. ❤
Need to see this combo in a 1/10 scale
So sick I’m going to have to get one
Wonder if it'll fit in a 2021 Bronco TRX-4???
I would like to see this motor in an scx6 please make this happen.
That would be nice
Super review! 🙏🙏🙏
What radio were you using for the review, Francis?
Cheers!
For this review, I was using a Flysky GT7 radio. Not expensive or a special radio but it works OK.

Wow hi. Is it fitt to vs-4 10 phoenix?
Wow, Axe R3 here we come 🎉❤😂
Enjoy! I thought it was not needed but they really have addressed the needs of the bigger scale market.
In your opinion, would the fusion pro all in one, 2300kv be too small for a 1/8 cross rc emo x3?
Awesome ❤
Hello, buffet combo please. Just don't know what rig to put one in first😂
Right? You almost have to buy a new RC that can take advantage of the power of this motor combo
How would if fit existing 1/10 crawlers when it's that much bigger?
The have this big motor, a 550 and 540 motor in the same family
Its a nice combo, but not feasible for any current 1/10th scale crawlers... Too bad...
There's a smaller one also in 550
@@just-in-time6069 Oh, I did not know that!!! Going to have to check it out!
Absolutely. I think the 550 will go 4S now, They have 540 size motors too for this Axe R3
@@RCReviewChannel Thats good to know! I may have to grab one!
@RCReviewChannel their website shows the 550 as 3s and 540/540L as 2-4s
When are these combos being released? Can’t find any info on the website
My preorders shipped already
Can the new big motor fit the trx4

It's awesome, enjoyed the vid thx 😂👍
Be cool in a Losi LMT Monster truck ,Think I'll build one 🤔
Need one r3 😍

Damn and I just bought a r2 combo for my wraith yesterday 😒
Oh man, exchange, that esc. The new r3 ESC will work with your motor.
Do you think I can use it on a maxx V2? I’m planning to make a trailer type maxx.
Next level! Awesome
Glad you think so!
Insane!
