I am ok with itemization tokens (I suspected they would do something like that), it's the only way to accommodate all classes/specs, but other than that, seriously, the game design is simply bad, lazy, disconnected from the world and the playerbase. Our only point of disagreement is instanced world bosses - this gives people who haven't had the chance to do them back in the day or even backer in the day to actually experience the fight - not that they drop anything of importance except the hunter/priest special items and some very generic crap - or some stuff that was added to the game to "assist" classes/specs that are now immensely powerful like shadow priests/locks. Just wanted to give feedback to devs about problems of SoD. First, level bands and not enough content to create a pseudo endgame at sub 60 levels. We don't need level bands again, but if you do just do 1 or 2 level bands, like 40 then 60. Second, the seasonal nature. I'm not against the idea of seasons and I think its great for experimenting and also giving more freedom to develop interesting new takes on classic wow. Some ideas like hero class season, Survival/Hardcore season, a season with completely different type of itemization and gearing where you craft things and place all stats onto gear like gemming/reforging and gear starts off with no stats. The problem with seasons is the lack of clear plans. Seasons also should not be called seasons. It makes people think too temporary and mmorpgs are more long investment. There also needs to be carryover. Defcamp and melderon has a great video idea about this with their multiverse of classic where there is some carryover between each multiverse of classic. I don't think that name is much better either tbh, but I get why seasons is misleading especially when its 12-24 months, but advertised as 12. Classic's normal lifecycle is 1-3 years anyways. Focus on expanding the original game or making people go through the game with a different lens in the same way hardcore wow did. Please get art help for new zones, raids and dungeons. This was the saddest thing to hear. Basically, there has been no budget on any of the new raids??? Re-envisioning existing places can work and so can using outdoor dungeons like DFC, maybe jaedenar in felwood, grim batol, can all work too. Also, use future expansion content. Karazhan from tbc but completely change up the bosses and pacing. Maybe make it more interactive of a journey or something else entirely. Maybe karazhan isn't a raid, but a zone people can go into and has a hub for things. Maybe it leads to mysterious things from medivh. Lore freedom would be great but we can get away with sticking to the canon lore too. Third, class changes. It's probably too much for future classic+ and I'd rather see new classes like a new version of hero class as a class ascendancy system, or dual classing, etc. On the other hand, too little class changes will be just as bad just like SoM. People do want to be optimal and have a place and role with dps paladins, tank paladin, dps shamans, maybe tank shaman, shadow priest, hunter and druids in general, etc. Lock tanks and rogue tanks are not needed. If anything the hero class idea could fill that. Nightelf wardens. Orc blademasters. Nightelf demonhunters. Bloodelf spellbreaker. Runemasters. Tinker class. Keep the original more similar though, too many new abilities is a bit jarring, especially for classes like mage, warrior and warlock.
@@EbonhardtTV I hope you are correct, perhaps they will mention something for WoW's 20th anniversary in November. SoD will be closer to the end at that moment and the timing would be better.
21:14 that “ugh” is SOOOO telling. devs FAILED Chaos Bolt & Lava Lash servers, literally forcing xfers to those “major” realms.. in some cases, TWICE. so cringe. the downplay here is infuriating tbh.
I only have a question about time. why isn't hearthstone's cooldown halved? why isn't Summoning Stones activated? why doesn't the post arrive immediately in the characters of the account? why doesn't the instance have a graveyard right next to it?
If the world loses it's physicality through conveniences like this, it becomes empty as no one is ever traversing it save for people questing, and it loses the sense of the 'world' in world of warcraft and becomes lifeless. You never truly have to make a decision about navigating somewhere with a half an hour cooldown hearthstone, the inconvenience creates a market for player services to be viable, like city portals from mages or warlock teleports to specific locations. All of which really add to the class identity and are part of what gives vanilla such charm and sense of scale. I'd like to see more of these 'inconveniences' be solvable by finding a member of a specific class who can help you out in a thematic way with say a 4hr cooldown and a reasonably pricy reagent, warriors should be able to repair equipment on the spot with slightly greater durability than vendors provide, Rogues should be able to act as a reagents vendor with jacked up prices with a similar cooldown, Warlocks could get a portal with 4 random options to choose from (fel scar locations), there's tons of options for useful stuff like this to keep building up the class identity that would foster player interaction. Stuff which wouldn't be gamebreaking or reduce reasons players have to leave a city and yet still add convenience, but could be clutch for making group play run more smoothly. Inconvenience is how the game funnels players together to overcome it.
@@carlm2181 I agree with you, I also think they should not change the Classic Era and Classic Hardcore servers. But I was talking about SoD and that change is very necessary there.
@@hamir9652 I'm also talking about SoD, I see SoD as vanilla with rebalances to make every spec have a viable role in the endgame. But at it's core it's still vanilla, just with more respect to player time investment. I don't think a 30 min hearthstone cooldown would benefit the game personally.
@@carlm2181 In America there is certainly more respect, but in Europe I think the expectations are more. There are too many new abilities, it will take a long time to balance, especially with a small team. Actually, the heartstone can be 1 minute if you enter a Dungeon and leave the team. It's just another detour, so it would be better if the heartstone cooldown was at least 30 minutes long.
Yea they really dropped the ball. Super disappointing they keep talking about the art team the art team. I can put commands into ai and get art etc code within minutes. Not really sure what the fuck is going on

Disagree. It takes 10 mins or less to get anywhere which is fine imo. Summ stones will create an extremely empty world. The bots will just stand at summoning stones and sell them non stop. Bad for the game, just like LFR or LFG tools
@justinfrye9588 if warlocks sold summons non stop I would pay them! Problem is there isn't and we stand around waiting for people or for a warlock to make a stone. I bet 10-15% of my /played is pure waiting game, and I just hate it. But everything else in SoD is wonderful :D

Eeeeexactly. This is lterally *blackmail* - you have FR or you are dead. Like, it's MC man, people are supposed to go in the with lvl 55 greens semi-afk-ing while watching something on their main monitor and still clear the raid. Everyone saying Phase 4 in a big W are living on another planet, i don't think the servers emptied out faster in any other phases BG queues are not starting before late in the day... tells a lot and few try hards clearing MC isn't a good measure.
Honestly I think the only thing that’s gonna work, is re-making g the whole game from scratch. Taking everything they have learned from D2R and Classic Wow/SoD, and retail - and make something really good. Trying to fix a broken game is just gonna be impossible, and we will always be let down.
Can't send us to a fresh vanilla server? Sure they can.. it's called free transfer to a new server (alternativ to a burning crusade server) but remove all runes/patterns/gear that isnt available in normal vanilla servers. Lets us keep profession progression, quests done, reputations, gold etc and just give all Characters transfered a standard pre-raid gear set. Sure it's not the same as SoD but atleast we can start a journey towards the future expantions with the Characters that we made on SoD as a starting point.
Nah. A lot of people have grown to like how their characters work and it’s reliant on runes that wouldn’t be available. Imagine telling a warlock tank he’s gotta change roles and spam shadowbolt forever.. what a slap in the face.
for context a handful of hunter nerfs that did not even address the problems need reverted. you fixed melee hunter by adjusting the melee spec rune, all the damage nerfs beyond that were overkill. you fixed frost traps by adding a dr, you need to revert the other nerfs now. melee hunter did 500 more dps last phase than it does in pres bis this phase, that is not acceptable. why are you picking on the one class that recieved the least innovation for this project?
oh and for god's sake nerf the crap out of shaman, why are they top tank top dps top heals? they can perform 3 roles from a single spec successfully, what are y'all smoking?
Aggrend is a total basket case. I don't understand how blizzard pays him to destroy a game and waste ppls time. He knows full well what ppl want, he decides to troll us instead

I'd like to ask them what's going on with Xalatath this phase? I predict we'll see her in AQ40 but it's kind of weird that they just dropped that storyline for probably like 6 months.
Phase 4 has of course been as lack luster as the whole of Season of Discovery. Final boss of MC 😂 I wonder who came up with that flaming bogey so artistic 🫠 SoM raids? Lazy. Forcing players to wear FR in some cases not the gear they are looting from the end game raids 🤔 Stupid.
@10:40 He's 100% talking about making the AQ event instanced.
Felstriker on reals when?!? 47 runs in and no luck!
Awesome job
Nice interview, keep it up!
SOD TBC next plz. But only after a scarlet crusade and karazhan crypts raid
ERA FRESH WHEN ? 🍦🍦🍦
I wouldn't be surprised if after SoD ends
@@EbonhardtTV I hope you are correct, perhaps they will mention something for WoW's 20th anniversary in November. SoD will be closer to the end at that moment and the timing would be better.
21:14 that “ugh” is SOOOO telling.
devs FAILED Chaos Bolt & Lava Lash servers, literally forcing xfers to those “major” realms.. in some cases, TWICE. so cringe. the downplay here is infuriating tbh.
Modas Karkun upgrade/quest please
Interesting they are getting some shared design resources. They must be turning some heads at the corporate office
did they say anything about hardcore mode in SoD, or what was the tease they mentioned at the end? havent got to listen to whole thing
Just use the hardcore addon in sod
I’d be fine with SOD era tbh
all we want is classic feel with retail QoL idk why its so hard to figure out
Hopefully we will get to work with the red dragonflight in BWL like we are with hydraxian in MC
The Classic Team needs to uphold the integrity of their realms and put an end to those abusing the free transfer system.
Great interview 👍🏻
So still no answer for new raids? They were showing Karazhan Crypts as a raid? But no news yet?
they better not make a classic + based on this shit!
At the end they mentioned that they teased what is to come. I didn’t catch every second of this does someone know what they’re talking about
Once a player gets full tier 2-3 etc. what incentivizes them to return to the raid ?
Besides being a good person and helping oit guild memebers
There are no 'good' players in sod, it's literally the most garbage community that's ever existed in wow
SOD failed miserably P3 onwards - Lazy asf Devs
I only have a question about time. why isn't hearthstone's cooldown halved? why isn't Summoning Stones activated? why doesn't the post arrive immediately in the characters of the account? why doesn't the instance have a graveyard right next to it?
"but but but the meaningful journey" /s /jk
Whats and “A-ti-ash”? Agrend keeps mentioning it.
Atiesh is a legendary staff that teleports you to Karazhan.
What's the 'larger than life' encounter he's alluding to?
Thunderran?
I personally have a few theories, but I'm not sure what it would be exactly. Cooking up a video or two about it.
I'd guess Green Dragons. Something will need to be different around the incursion areas.
@18:00 Did you give us a guild bank yet?
Ironfoe on Real vendor when?
Incursions are FANTASTIC as a daily activity. Horrible as repeatable content. Lessen the rewards as well. Make it just a fun activity for leveling
shutting down BRM dungeons 50% of the time for PvP is painful when leveling or trying to farm gear
Lets be honest 11th boss in MC is real disappointed ... fire ball that is called molten core , really ? After 12-14 weeks of p3
Yea they really dropped the ball. Super disappointing they keep talking about the art team the art team. I can put commands into ai and get art etc code within minutes. Not really sure what the fuck is going on
The look on his face trying to come up with a defense for the dumbest boss ever.
Please activate summoning stones, waiting 15-45 min for a group to get to a dungeon is the worst feeling ever. Iv had so many times where i just shut down my PC because i had a member in a random place to "turn in a Q" and then they need to waddle their way to a dungeon...
This would definitely be a good feature to have for sure. No point leaving them disabled, would kill a lot of Warlock summs tho lmao
Have Warlocks be able to sell and craft a 1 time use closet that last for 10 min when purchased. Only can be used by a sum stone.
Disagree. It takes 10 mins or less to get anywhere which is fine imo. Summ stones will create an extremely empty world. The bots will just stand at summoning stones and sell them non stop. Bad for the game, just like LFR or LFG tools
@@waynereicherter5098this is an amazing idea
@justinfrye9588 if warlocks sold summons non stop I would pay them! Problem is there isn't and we stand around waiting for people or for a warlock to make a stone. I bet 10-15% of my /played is pure waiting game, and I just hate it. But everything else in SoD is wonderful :D
So we aren't going to classic Era after Sod like SOM (to lazy to auto correct items) and they have literally zero idea what they are doing with them? Everyone better say good bye to the fun times now cause you know what happens will be awful.
👏👏👏👏👏💥💥💥💥💯💯💯💯💯👍🏼👍🏼
Ye it make perfect sense ...No need for fake artistic info about boss just say we did not had money Microsoft did not give us so we take literal molted meat core ball, like what can get wrong lol Even dev itself try not to laugh when he speak about it i mean just great xDD
Ikea Meatball = Limited Resources
phase 4 has been a big W
Quick dev team meet with as many creators as you can phase 4 didn’t impress 😂😂
As a returning player I want to play, but the idea of going all around the world to get my runes is just too much, I would love it they could be bought with reels or something like that. Along with being collected in the world, so you have the option of both
This is actually a really good idea. I think letting runes be purchaseable for Reals is a very solid idea.
@@EbonhardtTV This is a good middle ground. Buy an account-wide item that allows you to purchase a rune of your choice. This is not *entirely* alt-friendly but it is at least *something*.
You and hammerdance put exclusive in your title but multiple people have interviewed these same two people about the same shit in the last 24 hours lol
Layers make server faction balance almost pointless. I refuse to believe that is still into affect anyways. There is no balance on crusader strike u.s.
I live for PvP, but 1 vs 150 every single time I go to black rock mountain isn’t enjoyable. Especially when im just trying to do a dungeon and the most braindead busted class of all time is around every single corner. Shamans alone killed sod pvp. Everybody agrees on this except the shaman themselves, wanna know why? Because they never have to play against it since it’s horde exclusive. That just the salt in the wound
Lmao almost like being horde and having to play against a bubbling chicken shit pally. Can’t beat a shaman? Get better fam
Demon fall canyon is literally recycled assets with no lore, no quests, no reason to go there really
Sod is dead you decided to focus on the 1% raiders with x2 raids a week and with no new pvp gear pvp is dead unless youw ant to get farmed by the x2 a weeks raiders.
rand 10 wont matter and pvp is dead.
Bring back 10 man raiding
SAD that fire res gear is required to this extent. All my BIS healing gear is useless when progressing in Heat level 3. I would prefer if bosses just scaled with difficulties
No it's not. Get creative
For heat 3 it is, heat 2 isn't terrible with help from enchants
@@claytongiampaolo7848 wrong
@@baalfrit You can get 75 fire resistance on gear from enchants from various reps+librams. Add on the 27 resistance that Improved Mark of the Wild gives and you are at 102, assuming no other fire resistance on your gear at all. This means you can reach the Heat 2 cap using literally any combination of items in the game.
@@baalfrit yeah what seinglade said, suck it
The world is the main character. Yeah right. Lets do incursion. Bullshit
Heatlevels were actually really disappointing its okay to make a fireresist requirement but they should also ad some difficulties otherwise
Eeeeexactly. This is lterally *blackmail* - you have FR or you are dead. Like, it's MC man, people are supposed to go in the with lvl 55 greens semi-afk-ing while watching something on their main monitor and still clear the raid. If I want "challenge" I can go to retail with the toxic sweatlords. This just bad game design, plain and simple.
Everyone saying Phase 4 in a big W are living on another planet, i don't think the servers emptied out faster in any other phases
BG queues are not starting before late in the day... tells a lot and few try hards clearing MC isn't a good measure.
Not really a lot of creative changes in SoD, it’s nice changes but missing the mark.
Honestly I think the only thing that’s gonna work, is re-making g the whole game from scratch. Taking everything they have learned from D2R and Classic Wow/SoD, and retail - and make something really good.
Trying to fix a broken game is just gonna be impossible, and we will always be let down.
Oh, and also do what Blizzard is good at and copy other games that did something right and make it polished and add it in.
Imagine telling a warlock tank he’s gotta change roles and spam shadowbolt forever.. what a slap in the face.
whoever is in charge of balance over there needs a serious wake up call... probably replaced entirely...
for context a handful of hunter nerfs that did not even address the problems need reverted. you fixed melee hunter by adjusting the melee spec rune, all the damage nerfs beyond that were overkill. you fixed frost traps by adding a dr, you need to revert the other nerfs now. melee hunter did 500 more dps last phase than it does in pres bis this phase, that is not acceptable. why are you picking on the one class that recieved the least innovation for this project?
oh and for god's sake nerf the crap out of shaman, why are they top tank top dps top heals? they can perform 3 roles from a single spec successfully, what are y'all smoking?
Aggrend is a total basket case. I don't understand how blizzard pays him to destroy a game and waste ppls time. He knows full well what ppl want, he decides to troll us instead
Interview had 0 substance to it
14:30 it is still INSANE to me that the devs added effectively Mythic Molten Core to classic…. At least the devs know what NOT to do in a real classic + environment now right? Like that is so anti-classic its not even funny
I'd like to ask them what's going on with Xalatath this phase? I predict we'll see her in AQ40 but it's kind of weird that they just dropped that storyline for probably like 6 months.
WTB Ironfoe. Add it to the vendor for 100 coins or raise the drop rate.
Sod still a thing haha
Phase 4 has of course been as lack luster as the whole of Season of Discovery. Final boss of MC 😂 I wonder who came up with that flaming bogey so artistic 🫠 SoM raids? Lazy. Forcing players to wear FR in some cases not the gear they are looting from the end game raids 🤔 Stupid. So far Demon Fall Canyon is the only decent new thing that’s been added, and decent is a very strong word for it imo.
