Retail had a lot of rares with dedicated drops, some of which are hard if not impossible to solo. With war within and SOD being out I realize now that retail is closer to a perfect version of classic than classic is. The main issue is rolling back heirlooms, level boosts and queue spam for leveling. All possible if they did another seasonal retail thing

Nice Ideas my man. I’d love to see some exciting quest chains leading up to battles with these world bosses, creating an epic storyline along the way.

If they gave faction leaders loot tables theyd have like 5 bosses right there, they all have unique mechanics. This includes jaina and rexxar. Theyd have to do something about dishonerable kills though.

I'd love if they added more level up world bosses. Some of the coolest moments from leveling is when you're randomly questing, and you run into an overpowered enemy, so you ask in general chat if there's anyone around to help kill it. Maybe you'll get a nice blue item or maybe even a low/mid-level epic item that will carry you for the next few levels.

This is very much to ask for since we got almost ZERO in P5... Either they have given up on SoD or we need new devs that actually plays the game, cuase the lack of content we get VS like a PServer like Turtle wow is insane

I was suggest the dwarf starter dungeon _The Excavation Site_ is more likely to have been where the Gol'Bolar Quarry is now, rather than over in the second zone. There's a large cavern with a single entrance, and a rare spawn. This would make more sense when compared with where the other 5 starter dungeons were supposed to be located - all inside their initial zones. _The Gold Mine_ may have been intended to be located where Jasperlode Mine is rather than FargoDeep, as this only the one entrance, as appose to 3 entrances. There is also a rare spawn here. This also lines up with the orc starter dungeon of _Skull Rock_ which is off the coast east of Orgrimmar. This cavern system has a single entrance, mob levels at the high end of the zone, and has a rare spawn chance. The forsaken's dungeon _The Monastery_ is likely Scarlet Monastery as you say, mu guess would be the external part of the dungeon is today. If I recall correctly, there may even be a rare spawn chance in this area. The tauren dungeon _Razor Fen_ was most likely supposed to be where Brambleblade Ravine is now, Again there is a rare spawn in the area.

Blizzard just needs to hire the team from Turtle WoW, what they doing is the closest to classic plus in my opinion.

I think Classic+ should have Outland, whether it rethinks/redoes TBC or accepts most of it as it is, is up for debate, but Outland is a natural place where you can have more content! Same goes for Northrend and the different Isles that were already in Warcraft 1,2 and 3.

If you make the comment "I like classic more" you will get the label classic boomer and a "muh nostalgia" argument. I always thought the arguments of players who started post-Cata, but liked classic more when trying it, had the most weight. After talking to quite a few, the following reasons were the appeal for them. 1 - The world was more immersive/felt bigger/was more dangerous. 2 - A lot more player interdependency (often erroneously called "more socialization") 3 - A slower pace (some just prefer it to the fast pace retail got over the years). 4 - Questing was the game content (as opposed to what feels like an obstacle to the "real game") 5 - Special things feeling special (If everything is special, as in retail, nothing is) While even the most die-hard retail fans often agree with the first, the other 3 are highly subjective, so their appeal depends highly for the type of player. For every praise for those there was just as many "it's too slow" or "I don't like dealing with other players" or other such comments. I found criticism of the speed to be the most common, usually said by people growing up after fast-paced games became the norm, or people with the retail mindset wanting to reach Molten Core to play the "real game" (Which considering Molten Core, no doubt led to disappointment). Those going in looking for "an adventure" were often satisfied with their experience. I joined in TBC, friends finally convincing me after ~2 years since Blizzard added free trials. TBC was an interesting era since it did still retain a fair few classic elements, but it was also when the seeds of many retail aspects were planted ("End game is the real game" comes to mind, and embracing e-sport aspects, whether via arena being the "real PvP" or catering to top guilds who race in PvE). I constantly swap between retail and classic. I recently have been playing retail a lot more, but mostly since I RP, which retail is better suited for due to having a larger option of races to play, gear looks to use, locale to visit (though a common sentiment with RPers is wishing they could RP in pre-Cata Azeroth), I haven't had interest in doing dungeons and raids in a long long time though. I do prefer retail for modern combat, not in the sense of steamrolling mobs, just that there is always something to do, not all, but a lot of classes had loads of downtime in classic combat. My ideal WoW would be classic with retail-pace combat, but that would probably appeal to nobody besides me, so that would never happen. Regardless, it's all an interesting topic.

Classic is great because leveling isn't an afterthought. In retail, leveling seems like a rushed, obligatory step to get you to the level cap. In classic it's immersive, full of varied content, and of course nostalgic too. Beats the pants off leveling 1-60 in a single zone in a matter of hours. You're not skipping the game, you're actually PLAYING it!

I think the Forsaken were always meant to be the Forsaken, but the devs were just calling them Scourge since in WC3 they were rebel Scourge that used Scourge assets. I remember in an interview with one of the original devs (Probably the same one you mentioned in the vid), he was reminiscing about how most of them were retarded when it came to the lore and Metzen was *constantly* butting in to say "Well ackshually" about certain things. The examples listed were that "The Scourge and Forsaken are different", ""Night elf tigers can't be orange, they have to be purple or white", "Only the black dragons are evil, the other ones are good." which is why you can find orange tiger mounts in the game code, in vanilla they just just swapped out dragon colors, or made non-black ones either corrupted or guardians of something (though it seems those blue ones in Azshara slipped through the cracks), and it was obvious the Forsaken _weren't_ the Scourge by the time you were playing one considering some of the earliest quests are about killing Scourge undead. One of the more famous ones Metzen was overruled on was Night Elves being allowed to have female druids and male priests which they added a sort of "Oh the NEs were dragged in to the modern world in the 3rd war and needed all the help they could get so they allowed it" sort of mention.

Shobek hit the nail on the head with the game needing to be balanced around pvp and RBGs/Arenas NEED to be in classic plus. (With personal rating.) However I disagree with taking add-ons out of the game. I like the customization options. And gold buying? Sorry but who cares? Just put the wow token in the game.

I could see Grim Batol being a low level dungeon. Kill a couple red whelps, build a mechanical red dragon to sneak past the elites outside the gate.

Interesting to hear that the nelf starter dungeon became BFD. I would've thought the confusing barrow den area in their starting zone would've been the open world starter dungeon, analogous to vanilla's Fargodeep Mine and the eventual Skull Rock cave.

This a really stupid decision, HC is popping off and has been for months, the economy is fine, the playerbase is fine, we do NOT need a fresh. What we DO need is Fresh Classic progressive. A re release that rolls into TBC and Wrath again years down the road.

The copium is intense. Your interview seems to have given you some false confidence. This is the classic dev team we are talking about. The only thing they’ve created is weapon stats for like less than 10 new weapons. Everything else they just stole the previous developers work. Let’s look at new things they’ve added to the world. 1: Demon Fall Canyon That’s it. That’s all the new we got. Any of this content you’re talking about would take work. Someone would have to design the dungeons in their entirety. Classic devs will not do that. If it’s not something they can copy/paste from some other dev from some other point in time they simply won’t do it. Classic plus is going to have a huge start, just like SoD, but it’ll probably fall off harder when everyone realizes it’s just a SoD patch and not actually something new

WoW Vanilla, back then, was an incomplete game, that, was kinda of finished, only whend TBC came out. If WoW Vanilla had more time to develop and didn't change development teams so many times, probably the WoW we have today, would be way different than the one we actually know.

I would bet the Tauren dungeon was the area in Mulgore to the southeast just before the path goes into the Barrens. That section has a bunch of quillboar in a Razorfen like setup.
