Bike is made to comply to A2 european standards, it's supposed to be limited to that speed. Thinking of getting it as my first bike, it looks like a good option for something fun that's not a bigger but limited bike.
You are doing great don't listen to the haters. Telling you that you can get a higher top speed downhill is just people trolling the ninja 500 for being a beginner bike. You only need to post a newer similar video if you want to.
For those comparing to the N300: The Ninja 300 has the same top speed but it takes significantly longer to reach that speed. It's not only about the maximum speed you can achieve, but also about how quickly you can accelerate to that speed...
Don’t forget how comfortably you get to top speed of a gear too especially when needing to pass much better I assume for this bike. I had a ninja 400 and it was awesome how much it could pass on the freeway/highway
definitely should. if you do though you have to upgrade the clutch because they left the one that was used on the 400 in the design which has a tendencie to get to hot and start slipping. i suggest watching the channel 2 wheel dynoworks for more info on it and a sight on some of the dyno gains from being remapped.
How is it the same as the Ninja 300 I had?... I guess this must have a lot more torque. Some nicer features and design too. Love this series of bikes - 250, 300, 400, 500 twins are all great
It is easy to understand. They limited the rpm, and hence the top end power. So the top speed is low. Ninja 300 will have similar top end, but struggles at the low revs. Better to stick to the 300, unless you can opt for a 650 or 636.
I've been looking at all their bikes trying to pick one out, first it was a ninja 400, then 500, then 650. Then I found how awesome the [tuned] ZX-4RR is and my god. Even at $10K everyone loves it. 399 in-line 4 while all the other bikes I mentioned are twin cylinder, and it smokes them all. I have enough to get one, but if not I'd get the ninja 500 for sure.
Most of the people making critical comments will never even top it out. The bike makes more power than the 400, and has the same aerodynamics. A couple of small changes and you can get the top speed, if you really want it. We've had a couple of 400's, and just got a 500. Thanks for posting this vid! Rare to find a legit Ninja top speed video. The Ninja 400 top speed was the stuff of legends. People reporting top speeds on non stock bikes, irrespective of rider weight, downhill, wind, US or A2-rest of the world version etc. The EU Ninja 500 has no more power than it's predecessor, according to Kawasaki at least. The US one does get more power than the already more powerful Ninja 400 they had. The A2 Ninja 400 had a true top speed of roughly 180km/h and the new one should be there or thereabouts. People need to get over it and no one cares what they saw on some TH-cam video without context of some Ninja doing 200+.
This Ninja 500 SE is completly stock, no flashed ecu or anything. I think it´s a ledgit top speed but it was a bit windy. Maybe some day 200 who knows...
@@atrapfare I could tell yours is stock mate, that's how it's done. Kawa speedos are pretty accurate too, not much positive error. Sure you can hit 200 on a downhill slope, some help from the wind etc. I had a Renault Megane, it had a top speed of 187km/h and a long overdrive 5th gear. One night on a steep downhill with wind pushing me I hit 217km/h on the speedo, was flyin baby
@@christosswc I have a 400 from 23 and I Drove on the Same rode, as atrapfare, 197 and thats My top Speed too, but I was on almost empty tank and atrapfare was full tank, so I think both have the same top speed
nvm about that too much. Just try to stay around 4-6.000 rpm if you want smooth gas, higher rpm (7-10.000) results in "harder gas" (didn´t find better word). When the bike sputters, you should shift in lower gear, but you will get a feeling for that. Really simple, as long as you don´t think too much about all that and just focus on riding safe and on your surroundings 😜 (sorry for bad engligh, im german)
No offense but where's the power? And my 2019 Ninja 400 Tops out at 127 MPH That bike is restricted big time. A 500cc sport bike should top out above a Ninja 400 (110 MPH stock) and below the ZX6R/636 (170 MPH) So it should be hitting 150 MPH. Or at least should have the ability to do so, I think it's governed or has a power restrictor. Hi. First of all, the Ninja 500 only has 450cc, not 500, and because of EURO 5+ you can´t compare it to a bike 5-6 years ago :(. My friend has a 2023 Ninja 400, top speed was 197kmh (with slip on). The Ninja 500 isn´t a faster bike, it has more power in lower rpm because it has more torque than the 400. So you are right, I think that it´s restricted in power :(

Lets say you fit a race exhaust, air filter, retune the bike, you MAY be scrapping at 55hp. You will barely get a 125-130. The bike isnt DESIGNED to go fast. It is designed for beginners. Let's clue you in. A ninja 400 has the SAME POWER (-0.4hp) as the ninja 500. Their top speeds will be practically identical, if anything the 400 should be higher since it has a higher rev ceiling. This is because the 500 has been TUNED (not restricted) to have a broadspread of power. If you compare the two bikes on the dyno, the 500 makes considerably more power and torque EVERYWHERE except at the very top of the rev range. The result is a bike that feels much more punchy. Unless the only thing you are interested in is spending excessive amounts of time at 100mph or over, the 500 will be the far better bike.
my 2023 Ninja 400 also tops at 127 on straight, 125 going a bit uphill and 131 going a bit downhill. only mods are taller windshield and a slip on. no ECU flash or anything else
@@atrapfare my friend has stock 400 it goes 180kph on straight 190 on slight slope. It is pretty much the same as there is no power increase due to the increased displacement. The only thing is the 500 has better torque down low

look up the TST dyno horsepower charts where they compared a 400 to the 500. Top speed might be similar but the 500 will definitely get you there faster
There's also a different top speed video of a cf450sr doing only 193kph top speed I think it's because of the wind that's preventing this bike from going beyond 192kph and also take not that the ninja 500 isn't actually 500cc it's still a 450cc sport bike.

The problem is that this person is shifting too soon giving a false sence of Kawasaki reality, 4th gear gets about 92mph which is 148km/h, this rider shifted into 6th at 137km/h which would cause the bike to be lugging for more then ever,,,,,, it may never reach top speed and you will develop a spun bearing over time, one cylinder will overheat then people will blame Kawasaki for user error. 8,000rpm is torque 10,000rpm max HP.😅😅😅😅😅😅
Wait I'm confused. What's wrong with accelerating from 85 mph in top gear on a beginner bike? Isn't it better to be lower in the rev range than higher. If he was too low wouldn't he have stalled? What? Why? How? I'm saving up for a similar motorcycle as my first bike and really want to understand. Can someone please help me out. Is this guy on to something or is he crazy?

I am 6’2 have back problems my zx4rr will hit 130 mph without me tucked and I weigh 200 lbs with a gear to go in 5th. Yes it’s tuned.

I am a new rider and have this motorcycle since 22 april 2024, when should i shift gears (at which speeds)? Im scared i destroy the engine.
