I just bought my mic and it worked perfectly fine I could hear but nothing would go through, I have a microphone where you plug it in to where you talk through by the ear piece. I just unplugged it and plugged it back in fully and it worked!
Hey if it’s still not working…hold onto the PS button on controller and the quick menu will pop up. From there got to sound/device and uncheck “mute game voice chat” 😅🤘🏾🤘🏾

I’ve done everything in this tutorial and more to make sure my headset is connected up correctly but adjust microphone level section is still greyed out. It’s the first time I’ve tried to use the microphone on a new set of A10 headphones and I’ve never had a problem with the audio coming through the headset but the first time I try use the mic I can’t seem to get it to work. And I’ve owned this headset for over a year now. Are used to have the exact same headphones just an older model and they worked fine for streaming with no problems with the mic usage so I’m not sure what’s wrong 😢

got it to work. Click the options bottom on your controller when you’re in a game. Go down to the menu option and click settings. R2 to Volume and scroll down to Voice Chat. Make sure voice chat method is on OPEN MIC. Should work now.

@american236 Bro, Does your Headphones have 2 jacks? If so, you need to connect both of them to connect Mic and Speaker with your PS4. If you connect only one, then you will only get either Sound or Mic.☺️

I tried the mic on the ps5 and it worked but the ps4 it won’t work on any controller I tried two different controllers and it won’t work (btw I had my ps4 fixed the entire power board because it exploded so could that be an issue too?)
Mine isnt greyed out. It recognizes every device i plug in .it just wont oick anythinb up!!! Like ive plugged in 6 different mics and it recognizes all 6. I go to adjust mic level and it lets me click it but theres no sound . I can not hear myself

I have a slightly different problem mic works perfectly but when i plug it into the controller it doesn’t and if i go to try the voice test I just hear a beeping noise and that makes the bar go higher and lower but it’s not me talking can someone help please
@lamarkhamashta3814 is there a setting somewhere that we are missing that actually mutes the mic.? Haven't had an issue until this last system update.
Found one issue that could be it. Hold down on the ps button and go to sound and devices and it will read mute game chat or all microphones. Not sure what happened but solved my problem.

Manta-qj1tv Bro, It’s because your Headsets Mic is not connected to your PS4. If there is 2 cords, one is for earphone another is for Mic, so both needs to be connected if you want talk and listen at the same time.☺️

I had a problem with trying to talk to friends in a party I bought a new mic thinking mines was broke and it didn’t work then bought a new controller thinking it might have been that and it still didn’t work when I went into the party settings to try listen to myself it was still silent and nothing was working I watched 100s of videos and sat for hours in my settings and still nothing was working at all but I managed to fix it my self I went into my settings and I can’t completely remember when it was in the settings but you can set all settings back to default and I did that and it worked but when you click it you will need to sign back into your account so you will need all your passwords and it will make you set your play station back up as if it was new you will need to connect back to the internet with your password on your modem and need to fix some settings you might have set for yourself like to automatically connect to internet when you turn your play station on and maybe other settings you may have had After I did all that I went into the party and tried it again and it worked fine went and tried all my mic and controllers I had and they all worked so hopefully people read this before going out and buying new things and save a bit of money If it helps let me know

Your aux port might be damaged or may need to be cleaned, give it a blow and see if that helps

If someone has a similar issue and have all settings correct. Hold down the PS button and go to 'Sound and Devices' and uncheck 'Mute Game Chat' and 'Mute All Microphones'.
Edit: Wild that they dont have this in the main settings PS settings.

got it to work. Click the options bottom on your controller when you’re in a game. Go down to the menu option and click settings. R2 to Volume and scroll down to Voice Chat. Make sure voice chat method is on OPEN MIC. Should work now.
So under where it says open my it says microphone activation mode and has a lock next to open. Mike, and I can't even click on it. Can you talk me through that, please?

The mic volume is not grayed out but when I change the volume it says it doesn’t read my voice because the bar won’t go up how do I fix that?
Niceboy-rw2ye Bro, Have you checked if there is any mute button for Headset itself? Sometimes, it can cause this issue if accidentally turned on. ☺️
This still did not solve my issue. I can hear audio, but I cannot be heard by other players.
@american236 Bro, Does your Headphones have 2 jacks? If so, you need to connect both of them to connect Mic and Speaker with your PS4. If you connect only one, then you will only get either Sound or Mic.☺️

For some reason i used like 3 headphones with mics, but none of them are shown in the sound bar whenever i speak. Does someone knows how to fix?

I tried the mic on the ps5 and it worked but the ps4 it won’t work on any controller I tried two different controllers and it won’t work (btw I had my ps4 fixed the entire power board because it exploded so could that be an issue too?)

Mine isnt greyed out. It recognizes every device i plug in .it just wont oick anythinb up!!! Like ive plugged in 6 different mics and it recognizes all 6. I go to adjust mic level and it lets me click it but theres no sound . I can not hear myself

I Can Hear But Not Talk
I have a slightly different problem mic works perfectly but when i plug it into the controller it doesn’t and if i go to try the voice test I just hear a beeping noise and that makes the bar go higher and lower but it’s not me talking can someone help please
@lamarkhamashta3814 is there a setting somewhere that we are missing that actually mutes the mic.? Haven't had an issue until this last system update.
Found one issue that could be it. Hold down on the ps button and go to sound and devices and it will read mute game chat or all microphones. Not sure what happened but solved my problem.

Manta-qj1tv Bro, It’s because your Headsets Mic is not connected to your PS4. If there is 2 cords, one is for earphone another is for Mic, so both needs to be connected if you want talk and listen at the same time.☺️

I had a problem with trying to talk to friends in a party
I bought a new mic thinking mines was broke and it didn’t work then bought a new controller thinking it might have been that and it still didn’t work when I went into the party settings to try listen to myself it was still silent and nothing was working
I watched 100s of videos and sat for hours in my settings and still nothing was working at all but I managed to fix it my self
I went into my settings and I can’t completely remember when it was in the settings but you can set all settings back to default and I did that and it worked but when you click it you will need to sign back into your account so you will need all your passwords and it will make you set your play station back up as if it was new you will need to connect back to the internet with your password on your modem and need to fix some settings you might have set for yourself like to automatically connect to internet when you turn your play station on and maybe other settings you may have had
After I did all that I went into the party and tried it again and it worked fine went and tried all my mic and controllers I had and they all worked so hopefully people read this before going out and buying new things and save a bit of money
