God used this song to minister to me when my dad committed suicide. I must've listened to this song 500 times. No matter what my earthly circumstances are, Jesus is enough. Thank you for such a beautiful and Biblically-accurate song...❤
I am now Dan. I have no control over what is happening to me. My tears could fill a lake. But God! His showing in my suffering makes me want the crushing
Please pray for reconciliation of my marriage My wife is exercising her biblical right to divorce and is filing with the judge next month Our 3 daughters don’t want it and I’m asking for those of you who fight these battles on their knees, please do
John, I pray our Father wraps you in his love and your precious daughters as well. I pray for Gods will in your marriage and your family and your spirit. I just remarried my ex husband on June 9th of this year, which was 10 days ago. I gave up on a husband of 22 years, although I loved him I felt nothing could make him happy and I didn’t want to live my last 20-30 years with an angry pagan who didn’t believe in God. I never stopped loving him but I accepted that I would grow old alone. I filed for the divorce but he wanted it too, I just initiated it. He came to Jesus and I am more in love with him than ever. I have a good Christian man who I love spending time with. I have respect for him that was not there before. I have a new and improved best friend. Even though we were both hurting during and after the divorce, we remained kind to each other and still talked every week and that was so hard. But I just surrendered to God and told him, Your will not mine. It is a miracle but that is just everyday stuff for our Father. I am 65 years old in two weeks and have never been happier. Tell him, his will not yours. I wish you love, joy and everlasting peace. 💕💕🙏🏻👑😎🌵
Let God preach to you. I am truly sorry for what you have had to endure. I hope that you have been able to find peace and comfort in the Lord. Mat. 11:28 "Come unto me, all ye who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." It's unfair and it's horrible, but there is also grace and comfort in the Lord.
This song. The God we serve. I lost my dad to cancer on November 28th, 2023 - The road has been so hard but also full of endless mercies each day. Thank you Lord for the assurance that this suffering is doing something - For my good and His glory!
My cousin David was fighting cancer, a particularly agressive brain tumor which migrated to his spine causing paralysis. During this time, I felt God teaching me something about his suffering. The intimacy with Christ's suffering and the dependency on God it creates. I can only imagine the depth of his walk with God and immediate family through the ordeal. When I heard this song during that time, it was the only thing that resonated. It's impossible to fathom how to be in the place to utter those words, like Job did, but that is everything. To praise Him no matter what.
From 2018 - 2021 I lost my Daddy, my 13 year old English Bulldog, my mentor, my husband's mentor, my 25 year old Texas tortoise, my big brother (he was one of my best friends). Then in 2021 after 28 years of marriage (32 years together) I lost my Lover. Last Saturday my oldest sister died. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 brings life when the devastation hits my heart the hardest.
Oh my ….. what a beautiful, beautiful song. He works all things for our good. It’s so hard to remember that in our despair but may we always praise Jesus in our trials. That is real love and gratitude. Thank you Father, thank you. 💕💕🙏🏻😎🌵
Such a beautiful song, and how true. The suffering is not meaningless. I pray those who have not realized this truth yet, will soon and praise Jesus in their pain. The Lord is our comforter, He is our Physician, our Father.
I come, God, I come I return to the Lord The one who's broken The one who's torn me apart You struck down to bind me up You say You do it all in love That I might know You in Your suffering Though You slay me Yet I will praise You Though You take from me I will bless Your name Though You ruin me Still I will worship Sing a song to the one who's all I need My heart and flesh may fail The earth below give way But with my eyes, with my eyes I'll see the Lord Lifted high on that day Behold, the Lamb that was slain And I'll know every tear was worth it all Though You slay me Yet I will praise You Though You take from me I will bless Your name Though You ruin me Still I will worship Sing a song to the one who's all I need Though tonight I'm crying out Let this cup pass from me now You're still all that I need You're enough for me You're enough for me Though You slay me Yet I will praise You Though You take from me I will bless Your name Though You ruin me Still I will worship Sing a song to the one who's all I need Sing a song to the one who's all I need
Absolutely love this song. So much truth in it. If you don’t have a theology that allows for suffering in the Christian life then you don’t have one. But we know that Gods uses suffering and trials to turn us to Him and to rely on Him. Growth in the spiritual life!
Beautiful Truth in these lyrics ... Real surrender to God's Will - walking out whatever comes, with faith and deep trust in The Living God ... "He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them - He remains faithful forever." Psalm 146:6 NIV
'The Glory of God in the Sight of Eternity' is the sermon (July 16, 2013) and he also has an Ask Pastor John on this and it's titled, 'My Suffering Feels Meaningless, What Can I do?' episode 1538 All can be found on Desiringgod.org

I'm being slayed right now and I cannot help but worship. When the lord is the author of your salvation you cannot see any different

Amen🙏🏾 for my present suffering is not worthy to be compared to the Glory that will be revealed in me through Christ Jesus
Amen amen! All my suffering sifts out the world and leaves behind the unmasked, unveiled love of God in its place.
Amen sister.
Amen.
I discovered Shane and Shane this morning. And have binged all day!!❤🕊🔥🌹💔😂😭🙌🔥🙏❤🔥🕊🔥🕊❤🔥❤🔥💔🌹

I come, God, I come
I return to the Lord
The one who's broken
The one who's torn me apart
You struck down to bind me up
You say You do it all in love
That I might know You in Your suffering
Though You slay me
Yet I will praise You
Though You take from me
I will bless Your name
Though You ruin me
Still I will worship
Sing a song to the one who's all I need
My heart and flesh may fail
The earth below give way
But with my eyes, with my eyes I'll see the Lord
Lifted high on that day
Behold, the Lamb that was slain
And I'll know every tear was worth it all
Though You slay me
Yet I will praise You
Though You take from me
I will bless Your name
Though You ruin me
Still I will worship
Sing a song to the one who's all I need
Though tonight I'm crying out
Let this cup pass from me now
You're still all that I need
You're enough for me
You're enough for me
Though You slay me
Yet I will praise You
Though You take from me
I will bless Your name
Though You ruin me
Still I will worship
Sing a song to the one who's all I need
Sing a song to the one who's all I need
Thank you. Thank you, Jesus. Too grateful for words.
This is such a beautiful song. It reflects the Job mindset we can all benefit from; though it may SEEM God hurts us, He disciplines those He loves.
A real blessing to me. Hurting right now.
Same brother. How are things now?

Anyone know which piper sermon this is?
'The Glory of God in the Sight of Eternity' is the sermon (July 16, 2013) and he also has an Ask Pastor John on this and it's titled, 'My Suffering Feels Meaningless, What Can I do?' episode 1538 All can be found on Desiringgod.org
In addition, there's a version of this song on YT where there's a cutaway to John in his chair delivering the words he speaks.
Peaise Jesus!!
Any one here know the Piper's preach name?
John piper
I guess you could say that all the suffering is THE DRIVING FORCE FROM GOD 🤔never crossed my mind in that way
