I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada, and the delivery center definitely let us examine the car as long as we wanted before we accept the car. This was the same for a couple of friends of mine, too. Sucks to hear that some places just want to accept it before you see it.

We just picked up our MYLR this past Monday (12/12) also at Irvine and at the same parking spot #157. Nice! It was raining a bit but we still managed to get our inspection checklist completed.

Hey Chris keep the videos coming. In Australia you have to pay for the car 2 days before delivery day so they can then register it in your name before pickup. Funny how different countries have alternative processes.

When I got my X in Aug. they didn’t take payment from my account until 2 weeks later. I basically drove off the lot with a $100k+ car😊. They finally called me and asked if I could pay for it now. 😂

@@EverydayChris Every Saturday morning, opens at 8:30 although some cars line up before in the parking lot. Located at The Outlets off Vista Hermosa exit on the 5 south. Dogs welcome, lots of them, I am there with my giant black poodle, Murphy, every week.
At 10:06 ... that is so true! I had Tesla service attempt to flush out the door handle and window trim on my right rear passenger door... After a whole day of service. The trim is still not flush, the door handle still not flush, AND that door doesn't even open from the outside 🤣 ... beside that everything with my MY is amazing though... alrighty put 2k+ miles on it after 1.5 months of owning the car

When I got my model x , I had no problems scheduling a non regular pick up day. They seem to make exceptions for model x and s buyers. When I arrived , I was only model x pick up. As well, they let me look on my own time no rush before paying. While , I did noticed model 3 owners where kind of rushed out.

Congrats on the new car Chris! That's the same delivery center I went to for my car. I parked at the exact same spot too then found out delivery parking is on the otherside. It really is too bad tesla does such a horrible job at quality control and 90% of the time they pushed it on their buyers only to be slapped with the statement, "It's within spec. "
Is it really worth it to be treated like crap when you’re paying that much for a vehicle? Just so you can be trendy and save on some gas?

Great video, thanks for sharing your Model X delivery experience. Those are disappointing issues to have at delivery on any vehicle...let alone a 100K vehicle. We just took delivery of our Model X and it has many issues, including a rough rumble that resonates throughout the cabin at all speeds, and is especially concerning at highway speed as the steering wheel vibrates. Not good! It's headed in for service this coming Monday, 8/21.
Sounds like an alignment or balance issue! Hope it gets fixed
My grandma got a long range in blue with white interior, she also got the five seater because she obviously doesnt need 7 seats, especially not for an extra like $2500, on top of that she got FSD

My new car had the same speaker vibration. They applied lubricant apparently and told me to monitor it. But it's no different. I really don't think I'll get another Tesla until they sort out their customer service and build quality. My sister got a new iX and it's flawless. Not the prettiest car but nor are Teslas imo.

Hey Chris how do you feel owning Tesla model X since 1 year and do you see any issues with falcon doors
Any other issues? My 22 model x LR has been in service center more in the first 3,000 miles than any of my previous vehicles combined. So many loose interior panels, clips coming loose, and the front door seals have come off 5-6 times already. The drivetrain and driving itself has been great but everything else has so far been a nightmare

Hi Chris, thank you for sharing this, really helpful as I’m planning to order MX, just a quick question, how do you find yoke steering wheel, I’ve seen now that there’s an option to choose between traditional steering and a yoke, please share your experience with the yoke, thank you.
Good question. I love it. It’s unique but not annoying. Wouldn’t go back. Will do a video on it soon

You have to inspect it like this if you spend more than 100k on a car it should be flawless 💯💯💯
Having purchased a brand new Nissan, 3 Hondas, and 2 BMWs, I can assure you there is no such thing as a flawless new car.
@@SpottedSharksBut Tesla X has more flaws and gap un-alignment irritation, and with that price tag, a lot of quality steps have too much toleration acceptment.

Im still waiting for my model y, my delivery was set for December 22, just got a message that it will not happen this month and they offered a different used configuration but im just going to wait.
I just to the same car, 6 seat configuration. You can put the rear seats down, just not the middle seats. I'm sure that's what you meant :-)
That’s a nice Model X. I came from a Model Y and loved the technology. However I would leave it charging over night and would leave me locked out with the charger still stuck inside the charging port. The range also is way off as advertised. Needless to say I got rid of it and purchased a brand new Toyota.

I can’t tell if this is sarcasm or not because as someone who owns a Tesla and a Toyota I would have no clue why if you can afford it would pick a Toyota over a Tesla
How did you handle the VIN issue?
Hey Chris, Congrats on the new model X. Actually I have a question about car washing model Y. Since I live in Toronto, Canada, Winter is cold and messy especially the road with tons of melting salt and dirt. Do you recommend to wash the under bottom of the car through touchless car wash or coin wash to remove the salt and dirt bottom of the car. Touchless automatic wash usually has an option for washing bottom. I am worrying about battery damage if water and soap soaked or sprayed the bottom.

WOW they swirled it. holy cow 😆 I've told delivery managers if they "wash" it, they going to pay for a paint correction. they universally leave the plastic wrap on

I am wondering if your car has a Vin of a plaid, do you also get plaid dollar when you trade it in say to Carmax. You might end up on the better side if that's the case.
I want to know how much do you pay if you have a battery installed at your house. What is the monthly fee?
Congrats on your new Model X delivery Chris! Glad everything went pretty smoothly at the Tesla. Your wife seemed so happy -- almost giddy -- when examining the X whereas you were so serious with the inspection. 🤣🤣Anyway, you gotta let us know how you're liking the Yoke after a few weeks. I considered the X but the Yoke was a deal breaker. To me, it ridiculous, but if you can handle the yoke, then enjoy your X!
Yoke is fine. Took less than two days to get the hang of it, then very easy, relaxing.
Looking at the Tesla website, you can get a Model X with the yoke or wheel, your choice, at no extra charge. So, you're not stuck with the yoke if you want a Model X.

The x is on a different software so they don’t have that feature! It sucks! It always gets in the way. I’m sure eventually

Hi Chris, we experienced the same thing with so so many phone calls, especially with them wanting us to take the car before quarter end. We're doing the 5 seater too - we actually already sent the down, but that doesn't mean we accept anything right? We still have the financing check to give them. We want to examine too. Hope we can do so.
Should be good! Just be firm about inspection but usually all is well

when i took delivery, they didn't let me open the door, so I could only inspect the exterior of the car, so You don't know how well the doors close, etc.

I was possible looking into purchasing a Telsa. Nevertheless this video was a eye opener for me. I was led to believe that Telsa Vehicles was the pinnacle of all electric vehicles. That Telsa is the Gold standard. I didn't think or know that there be possibly so many flaws with a vehicle upon taken of ownership? The way you had to expect the vehicle was really a let down for me. I know vehicles can come with flaws. I didn't know Telsa vehicles would have so many defects and flaws, possibly up front. And I thought the service center, you are picking up the vehicle rrom would have inspected it thoroughly when it have arrived?
You said that you are very happy? And overall the vehicle was in good condition? Is this the lower Quality standard that new Telsa buyers have to expect from the company?
You spend so much money on a vehicle,and especially now a month later they drop the price up to 15,000 When you calculate discounts and tax rebates. You should be given a higher quality standards than this.
Don't get me wrong the vehicle looks and sounds great. But I think I will get a one of the new SUV. Hybrid Mercedes-Benz. And give Telsa more time To become more consumer friendly. And raise their quality of standards to a higher level.

I also got the 5 seat MX 2022 for cargo space with flat seats when lowered, dog space, and suspension lift for dirt roads. Not thrilled with need to lift so high into the cargo space (your wife will relate). Dog loves heated second row and panoramic view. Mine did although pre-delivery was filled with anxiety and very poor communication. Love the mX
Have your wife lift a 40 lb suitcase into the back. Or even full grocery sack.
What did you do about the paint dimple? I rejected mine today because it had multiple paint dimples and the only fix was for them to take it to a body shop to repaint!!!
I just left it. Didn’t want them to sand and repair the whole thing

I ordered a model y performance in MI just a couple days ago. Tesla texted me saying MI state law is that the car has to be totally paid for before it enters the state?! in addition, needs to be paid as soon as the VIN is assigned. I need to look into this more, but has anyone heard of this before?

Yeah I spent almost 2 hours there on delivery day. Why you ask. Because I got a big F U when I complained after about issues for the delivery of my first tesla. Lessons learned
@@Adobo121 what issues did you have? I bought a 21 M3 and just took delivery last week of a 23 MY. The M3 was delivered in my driveway and was very clean. The MY I had to pickup at the delivery center and they said it was just washed but inside had grass and smudge prints. Nothing that didn’t wipe of but kinda surprised to see. They said they stoped doing delivery because they have too much volume and maybe that’s why my second car wasn’t as clean but neither had any real issues.
He’s doing the right thing. When I got my 3, the undercarriage had damage on one side. I didn’t notice it but I had taken it to get wrapped the next day and that guy did, I have to fight with Tesla to get it fixed.
If I'm spending all that on a new car. Yea. I'ma make sure the seals and paint is perfect.
They’re not a salesperson. They’re a CSC (customer service cashiers). The products sells itself. Their duties is simply to provide a demonstration for you, answer your questions, take you out for a test drive, perform the transaction if you want to buy it, & handle complaints from existing customers that walks into the building.

I heard the 2023 Model X has a much improved rear seat screen where they eliminated the bezel and increased the resolution. Did you notice this on your X?

I'm surprised you guys bought a Model X instead of the Rivian R1S. The cost of the model X you guys could have gotten a pretty well configured R1S with your vehicle's purpose of road tripping.

I've had over 20+ new cars, I've never had to go over the car on delivery with a fine tooth comb like this. It's such a shame Musk allows such fit/finish flaws on $100K+ cars. From many Telsa owners comments it really does feel like owners are just numbers to him and there's little done to improve upon the quality output.
This seems like a lot to deal with and put up with to own a new Tesla. Everyone says their customer service sucks but there’s still selling so many vehicles. Lexus has the best customer service in the car industry but they’re losing customers. Tesla has some Shoddy build quality all the while asking for $100k. Is it really worth it just to save money on gas and be trendy?
