Drinker is trying to bury the movie too! He changed it to a TV series and proof of concept when everyone clowned on him! Even going as far as to not talk about it!
I watched the whole thing on a whim, and it was truly an experience. This movie feels like it was written by a 12 year old, who played COD Black ops campaign for the first time and wrote a fanfiction, where he is the main hero. There are little to no words in this world to explain how generic this movie is, it's like every B-action movie in some walmart bargain bin magically fused together in order to form it.
It feels like it should be built into TH-cam as a platform that once you hit a certain point as a "cynical" reviewer, you have to put out something earnest for people to shit on or your channel gets deleted.
Oh my god that first scene! All his years of criticism, and right off the bat he revealed he doesnt know how to; frame and block a scene, correctly edit or understand the 180 rule, how to light a scene, what lense to use, how to utilise appropriately motivated camera movement, how to direct actors and more than anything (especially annoying given its what he largely complains about, and given hes an authour) can't write dialouge to save his fucking life. The only thing I'll give him credit for, because its something a lot of bad movies fuck upand makes them unwatchable, he gets good sound / the ADR is okay.
I feel like I'm being gaslit by the simulation. That this guy makes a movie with every single fucking cliche he makes fun of?. Ryan Drake? Why not Max Killings, or Dax Stringfort, or Jack Bulletings. LOL. Every single thing about this movie is derivative. Two-dimensional european location. Duelling girlbosses with plot armour. Vague allegiances. Isn't this what he's railing against? Is it an elaborate joke?
Ben Shapiro as well. I think that conservatives approach the future while facing the past which is comforting because it already happened and they survived. Fear of living wrong and of death keeps them affixed to the old, the cliche, the well-worn paths because novelty really does scare them. One needs to a) receive reality without so much fear in order to b) make something new let alone good. And they're scared so they won't.
@@UncleMikki I mean, they ARE different thumbnails in that sense. Most people just put the words "TRAILER" and "OFFICIAL MOVIE" to get that difference across, but who are we to question the man's genius?
The moment a big channel like Moistcritikal see it, there won’t be coming back. I feel Drinker would just delete the video and make himself look like a bigger chicken shit cause Charlie went after him.
I watched a few of Drinkers videos in the past and I remember laughing at some of them but you definitely hit the nail on the head that once you watch one of the videos you’ve watched all of them. He definitely has a hard time talking about certain movies when they’re more nuance. Like I don’t know if you ever saw his Midsommar review but it’s pretty bad.
Some of his points on direction and story telling are okay, but he leans in too hard on the identity politics and doesn't help himself with the company he keeps.
He also has a hard time even talking about films in general. The structure of a movie, the editing, the audio, the literarh devices...he doesn't analyze any of this because he's not actually "reviewing" the movie. Every movie he watches is just a launching pad to him going on a rant about the "woke" or some other bullshit.
@ yeah I notice he falls in the same traps his peers do like he has multiple videos on the same subjects like how many videos do you need on Snow White. You are right he feels more like a rant channel than a review channel
I am someone who periodically enjoys his reviews. Don't agree with all, but some are pretty funny. But man is it ironic how bad this movie is. He literally hit every single issue he rails on during his reviews....and then some. I wish to say this will humble him.....but it won't.
Is this "The Critical Drinker" attempt to prove that he can make better films than so called woke Hollywood (which it isn't)? If it is, then he's failed extremely badly.
I think I'm too old to enjoy watching the Critical Drinker. I dont get what im supposed to be angry at. I thought that the world kinda collectively agreed that movies are not real life back in the 30's or 40's or something. I grew up watching 70's and 80's B action movies with Pam Grier and Cynthia Rothrock beating up dudes while saying one liners about how men suck. These subgenres have existed since Hollywood discovered exploitation sells. I dont know why im suppposed to be so mad at females beating up guys? All his reviews are about how its unrealistic that men are getting beaten up by women but he's mad at that in like Star Wars and superhero movies where it makes even more sense? I feel like i should be destroying my old collection of Charlies Angels or something. All i know is im supposed to be really angry at something. Anyways i watched this review and im neither angry or confused so you got a new fan and you guys seem pretty cool and fun to listen to.
"I don't get what I'm supposed to be mad at" and "I thought we agreed films aren't real life" this right here sir, is exactly what I think most of the time I'm met with a critical drinker review and channels like him, thank you for putting it into words for me
You need look no further than TCD's recent video covering the new Netflix film "The Six Triple Eight". It was clear that he'd not bothered to watch the film, but attacked it because it was pointless and uninteresting due to its subject matter - a regiment during WW2 who's job was to sort the mail. Oh, and they were all black women (had the real-life regiment, and therefore the film been about a regiment of white men it would've never shown up on his radar, but then his point was that Netflix would have never bothered making a film about a bunch of white guys). He's clever in that he'll offer up suggestions as to what Netflix should have made instead; example - why not make a film about the Tuskegee Airmen - "see I'm not racist because I'm suggesting a film about black pilots!" (ignoring the fact that there are a few movies of note about these airmen, including the George Lucas produced "Red Tails"). You were right in how the discourse filters down to his viewership - cue many comments declaring "The Six Triple Eight" a disgrace because it dishonours the (white) serviceMEN who fought and died in WW2. I'm not even sure why I watched that one, because I unsubscribed a long while back and have barely looked at his content since. I wish I hadn't. Whether he believes in the politics or not, he's gotten rich and relatively famous out of it, and that is what matters to him at the end of the day. I'm glad his film sucks. As a "filmmaker" myself I was pretty down on my short film (it's on my channel) and my abilities as a director. But then I only had £1,000 and now I don't feel so bad. Nice review - made me laugh a lot, thanks!
Ryan Drake sounds like what you come up with when you have to think of a fake name on the spot. Not a name you fit to an original character you’ve written meticulously.
I've said it many times before, The critical drinker is not a critical thinker.....with that being said even if I don't like his content I do admire someone that mainly does youtube having a go at making his own film, It's just that said film is terrible and definitely needed a better script
That’s not a lot of money. For example Jack Ryan cost $8 million per episode. Between Netflix, Amazon and such they pay $5 million to $10 million per episode for their shows. You tell me a show has a $500,000 budget and I’m thinking cheap show. You tell me a movie has. $500,000 budget and I’m thinking cheap Tubi movie. Seriously think about it. How much of that went to all the actors? Then you have costumes, vehicles, props, film crew, ect, ect.
Rogue Elements having a small budget doesn’t mean much when movies like Halloween, Mad Max, Paranormal Activity, Evil Dead and The Blair Witch Project had budgets of less than half a million dollars. Difference is those movies are great and did so much more than whatever Rogue Elements tried to be.
15:17 this ! THIS ! Made me laugh uncontrollably for 15 minutes 😂😂 “we’ll lose night time cover” i hated and loved this moment soo much. ironically of course lol
I'm shocked Rogue Elements hasn't been reveiwed more. It deserves a lot more scrutiny. I couldn't believe how bad it was. Apart from some passable fight scenes the rest was sub student level film making. Half a million in the right hands will go a long way, but this is so creatively unambitious you wonder what it was that sparked and drove the project in the first place. A TV exec with be looking for something unique in the story telling or some original directional flare. This has neither.
@fulcrum6760 what's stupid is if he just owned up to it I think most would be forgiven. Writing is hard (I know. I'm trying to finish a novel as we speak) I can't imagine screenwriting and producing a film. He could just admit that it isn't up to standard, that he learned a lot through the process, and intends to keep improving. Burying it only makes him look like a coward phony
I remember on the Efap subreddit that people were wondering if Mauler would talk about the film and his fans mentioned on a gaming stream that Mauler said that he won't cover Drinker's film "because he be too biased" to critized it. This is despite the fact that before he talks about how "Objective" he is and that he would tell his friends of their opinion on something is wrong before, so him avoiding saying anything about Rogue Elements is an indication that he doesn't want to rock the boat with Drinker and if he did watch, probably doesn't like it enough to recommend it. Which is funny since he made a comment on Drinker's trailer saying that "This pleases me greatly".
I watch a fair bit of his content, the algorithm recommending me this is hilarious. Enjoyed your takes, I feel like it didn’t even achieve ‘so bad it’s good’
Critical Drinker's lack of skills show in small things like that flash forward cut, a good film producer would have had the victim of the torture get a specific scar or something that, once it cuts forward in time, would be visible, like a scar on her face or something on the neck maybe. It could have been so easy to establish that the cut was forward through visual elements but he did not make use of that because it never crossed his mind.
This is true, we are always lamenting the fact that woke hollywood took the urine look away from us. Modern films are too afraid to drench every frame in urine.
Just watched it, totally agree with you guys, my inner cliché meter was off the charts. It felt like, you know when in films where the character(s) are watching a film, and in this case, an action film, this would be perfect, because it's pointless as a real film, but for the background, on the TV, it's perfect, because it looks like a generic special ops film, and that would be perfect. I also agree with Alec...who cares about all of this? so what? why does it matter to Ryan that all this is happening? Such bad writing. Well said, guys. BTW, I read one and a half of his books, out of morbid curiosity...they're just as bad, if not worse. lol.
YES! An in-movie action film that characters are watching is the exact vibe you get from this. While I wasn't expecting much from the writing, I was still surprised at just how lacking it was. I know budget can be limiting in action movies but there were so many basics that were not executed well at all, and have nothing to do with the budget. For someone who likes to appeal to movies like The Terminator, Aliens, and Die Hard so much he really took all of the wrong lessons from those movies.
I'm glad the world outside of Friday Night Tights circle are criticizing their projects. A funny rabbit hole is the Rippaverse comics meltdown. The owner Eric July criticizes everything but can't take criticism over his comics. Epicverse studios will probably be garbage too.
The best thing about Rogue Elements is the end credits; it’s clear Will Jordan was pretty chuffed with himself by the end of this so why not drop a few grand into blockbuster graphics AND a Farquaesque generic rock song to leave the poor souls who paid for this abomination of a short ‘film’ in no doubt about how far their dollar went. I mean with one of our preeminent authors on the project no need to drop a few grand on somebody who can actually write dialogue, huh? Thoroughly enjoyed watching you boys thoroughly enjoying how god awful this abortion of a pilot was. 300K, crowd sourced… I mean just think, Primer was made on a budget of 6000USD, and even adjusted for inflation that’s a great feature length movie that stands as proof that no amount of money need be wasted polishing a turd. It’s all about the writing and this was derivative drivel. COD wants their next single player campaign script back too, Will. 😂
'Primer' is indeed a great feature and let's not forget that plenty of decent movies have been made for the same budget as 'Rogue Elements' like 'Victoria,' Mad Max,' 'Badlands,' 'Jericho Ridge,' 'Conversations with Other Women,' 'Don's Plum,' 'Sylvia,' 'Blue Jay,' 'Strays' (1997) or for even less than 'Primer' like 'Cosmos' or 'Suburban Wildlife.'
@@Geronimo_Jehoshaphat I mean, the word is being used correctly, isn’t it? @@MetastaticMaladies Well I have to make some assumptions about what you're trying to sell then. Sounds to me like your thesis is adding to a truly deceitful narrative. And that insidious ingenuity to squash by slander is the glib grift. Because you're intentionally skewing a publicly accessible case of organic growth on a free social platform, by merely being applicable to confronting overwhelming counter trends reflected in the curated popular culture by a hivemind hegemony of gaslighting gatekeepers - whom with frequent and cavalier abandon have brazenly succeeded in often censoring and silencing the voices of many common real pragmatic people from calling attention or debating the merits of mandates under unsolicited thoughts crime initiatives. Which unto themselves provoke relevant commentary, contention and emphatic note. There's not a scam at play every time you don't relate with someone's base of popularity. No one is swindled by having a simpatico affinity with a point of view. You don't suddenly become a con man when a lot of people appreciate the prism you form your takes through. The hustle is when you want to persuade the idea that art is insulated from culture, and culture from politics. But of course, you don't devoutly hold to that axiom; it's only used when convenient, so long as it's any person who doesn't conform to the same passive contentment with your oxymoronic "progressive" world view's proliferation. Pernicious dealing out of the "grift" card label upon anyone whom dare connect certain dots of fashions being overly influenced by controlling powers with ulterior interests than just telling compelling stories. And this attitude of sniffing out the stench then attract support from fellow constituents whom share the perspective applied in earnest as a viable opinion on their shared love of Cinema that's also informed by noticing broader trends of coerced thought beyond the pretend parameters of just movies spontaneously existing to be singularly seen in a vacuum - rather than created by committees in context of the zeitgeist and norms it may feed to pervasive detriments of further untenable decay -- which perhaps agitates the sensibilities of those who haven't totally surrendered their conscience and rationality to mainstream media brand brainwashing agendas to topple the pillars of Western Civilization with revisionist subversion. Oooh, if you read me just now, and even comprehended a fraction, I bet you're clutching those pearls and gnashing them teeth in vehement denial! Let's see if TH-cam even allows such articulations of vocabulary to get past the almighty al-gore-rhythm. Not likely.
21:28 Really? You loved this movie? A 12 out of 12 for Rogue Elements? The moment that I thought, finally someone is calling Drink's "proof of concept" for the bland mess that it, he somehow still managed to be graded on a curve. It really bothers me how internet creators are given so much leeway and forgiveness when they put out mediocre product even when critics try to justify it with the "it's so bad it's good" line of reasoning. But when it comes to something like Star Wars Ashoka these same people would relentlessly be unforgiving to the point when they are clearly being bad faith. Is this really about quality or is this about being anti-establishment just for the sake of being anti-establishment? Sorry, but post-Rogue Elements I don't what hear Drinker, his fans, or anyone for that matter complain about Star Wars or Marvel or any other major studio production ever again, if something like this is given a pass.
And just to clarify, none of us would ever call rogue elements “so bad it’s good“. It is boring trash that we would never recommend to anyone. We love watching trash, but that’s because we are little trash goblins. We didn’t want this video to get bogged down with us talking about how little we like the critical drinker, and tried to focus on the film itself, but none of us are fans of his (at least at this point) and I (Alec (the guy on the left)) would say he is emblematic of everything wrong with modern film discourse. The ratings are a bit of a running gag on our channel. They are meaningless and meant to be a joke about how you can spend 30 minutes talking about how much something sucks but all people pay attention to is an arbitrary number tacked on at the end. For reference The Rise of Skywalker, The Exorcist Believer, Ant Man and the Wasp Quantumania, the 5th Indiana Jones Movie, Locked Down, and Halloween Ends all got 12/12 space eggs. It is confusing for sure, but we normally don’t have new people in our littler corner of TH-cam
Space Cop may be our white whale, if we were making content around the time it came out it would have been a very hard review to do. We have talked about going back to it, as most of us haven't seen it
i actually use to watch and follow the Critical Hack back in 2021 all the way to 2023. because at that time i thought he was sarcastic comedy channel, then i realize he was just a right winged political piece of narcissist that doesn't actually review and criticize movies, but whines, nitpicks and complains about Hollywood as if he knows how to make better piece of entertainment for the people. after watching that snooze fest " ROGUE ELEMENTS " by The Critical Drinker, any movie is a masterpiece. even the ROCK's " RED ONE " is 100% better than anything The Critical Drinker can manage to regurgitate as an excuse of a movie. in short The Critical Drinker is a massive hypocrite and walking contradiction and people are calling him out for it.

It's cheaper to plan smart. Cut the fat, use your limitations as an opportunity for artistry. Be purposefully sparse as a statement, rather than fail to be arbitrarily busy. Focus on pace and narrative momentum. No evidence for any of that in this project. The experience of watching Rogue Elements was like watching some other dullard from a distance in a static suspension of flat innert mundanity, grind their teeth listening to music on headphones only they can hear, while they fixate on some unknown process that you never see, but hear them grunt repetitive explitives under their heavy breath about how enthralling it all is for half an hour. Except less intriguing and more obnoxiously ineffectual.
It will always be funny that all those guys owe their careers to Rian Johnson. At least finally the kids who were smooth brained are growing up and getting slapped with reality…. They are calling out trash when it’s trash.
I haven't seen the film, but to steelman that criticism, I'd say he means that the Girlboss is a character that has little to no flaws, is superior to every male around in ability, and faces little struggle. If that's what's portrayed in his own film, I'll agree with you.
Jack Reacher is more based on the old TV series "Stingray". Think about it - military veteran goes off-grid, roams the land without a purppose, helps people in need frequnetly, can only be contacted via newspaper add, is a specilist of some sort. "Stingray" makes it even more a mystery of who he is. We'll never know his true name. AQll we know about "Ray" is: he served in Vietnam and killed a possible robber. But "Stingray" and here's another similarity to "Jack Reacher", was pretty much un-american as the character not only failed in some episodes - don't worry, he gets the bad guy - by not be able to save certain people but also in it's crticism of cultural aspects. "Jack Reacher" does the same thing, look more close and you'll see it: the bottom line of all "Reacher" outputs so far always criticise aspects of society. So don't flop in "Reacher" here. ;) Anyway, "The Critical Stinker" could have made the whole ordeal of watching this - just 20 minutes short of a movie - film almost wholesome with one little trick. Final scene before Volkov (russian spy) gets shot. Volkov: "I don't care if you kill me. All we wanted was Drakes face! (points at a hidden camera) Now you got to get a new one. Maybe you got more luck with a girls face." and smiles pleased looking at Anna. Great payoff for boring film.
Dude, the "corrupt San Francisco vice cop, that was moved to Milwaukee for "just a while, until things settle down" seven years ago" look hits hard in this one 😘
Hey guys, director of Rogue Elements here; thanks for watching the film. I noticed in your takedown of it that you wanted to learn and grow as a filmmakers. Well, if you ever want to chat, I can tell you the difference between filming something with just you and your crew and having to work with producers, unions, agents, city bylaws etc. It's a vastly different beast. Last thing I'd like to point out that while the production is perfect by any stretch, it was good enough to bring in Jon Cassar in the post-process
Hey Travis! Thanks for checking out our video, hope we didn’t come off as too insufferable. We would love to chat with you if it’s a genuine offer! The road to making a movie is often way more winding and complicated than it can seem just watching the finished product and we would be super grateful for any insights you’d be willing to share.
Great review guys. I use to enjoy the critical drinker until he started to become a grifter and weaponise anything that he see's as 'political' laughably from a guy who claims is 'apolitical'. All for what, following the money. I know youtube push this in the algorithm on criticising the 'bad' but he just takes it to a level of toxicity and under hand nastiness that gets bleed through to his many supporters that they make stupid claims like people on the left are just 'sheep' who like Hollywood slop when there are many people on the left who dont like the slop being funnelled through. And he doesnt take any personal responsibility or try things to mediate to his fanbase because either 1. Hes a coward 2. He actually likes it 3. Doesnt care about it So seeing your guys reaction and calling out his ego on this dead parrot of a project showing hes good at giving but not good at taking. Just further highlights how disingenuous he is as a 'film critic' when it shows in his work he doesnt know anything about film. Its all about politics.
I have no idea who you guys are but i appreciate you being the only reviewer of drinkers film that isn't someone has a giant hate boner for him. I believe the film probably sucks but I appreciate hearing from people that aren't just him but on the other side of opinion.
Drinker is the epitome of a Hollywood *wannabe* His bitterness & resentment is on full display in every one of his videos. He's admitted that his first dream was becoming an actor but he failed at that. Then he turned to writing & frankly I was shocked when I found out that he was a published author. He's amassed over a million subs on TH-cam, yet he's nowhere near any best seller lists, yikes... His ultimate dream of becoming a Hollywood elite keeps failing. It's no wonder he's turned to mindlessly tearing down other accomplished writers works in order to build himself up. He wouldn't get any attention any other way. Even his most die hard fans have labelled his books as bland, cliche, & predictable. When his short film ultimately fails & no festival wants to screen it, I fully expect him to blame it on "wokeness" lol
I forgot about this film, ill have to check it out. Im a casual Critical Thinker viewer and I agree with most of his criticism. I have found some real gems through his Drinker Recommends series. When it comes to criticism of modern Disney, i cant tell if you disagree with the messaging, or deny it, or accept it but look past it. But it IS there, and you can tell its there, because it disappears, or is altered when the same film is released in other territories. I dont personally mind if It actually serves the plot, or is tastefully handled. The HBO Last of Us was an excellent example. Im not some right wing troglodyte by any stretch, but box ticking on the nose social commentary takes you right out it. Good vid.
While we definitely wouldn’t mind more views, I honestly couldn’t care less how many we have in comparison to any channel. We make these videos mainly for fun, and have been doing so for our small community for years. Nope, his movie was just genuinely dog shit.
We prefer "kirkland brand RLM". We saw how successful people like the Critical Drinker were ripping off of Mr. Plinkett, that we decided we would copy their super original format of talking about movies in a room together.
Eventhough the shortfilm isnt good, some seem to forget thatthis does invalidate his critiques about other movies. Sorry if he dunked on your favorite Disney movie but his book being badly adapted into a "movie" changes nothing about his critiques.
drinker was fun at first when thrashing on bad movies like you do. But it got grim and cynical (and political), I think he is a lost cause now. But you shouldn't lean into the other extreme. Do you really think an abomination like The Acolyte would've been possible with profit in mind? I don't even think it's Disney's execs who certainly only think of money who are to blame, but just listen to the twisted minds of some of its makers like Hedland. A sensible viewer should recognise there are lunatics on all sides.
You're right about the film being terrible, you're wrong about there NOT being an agenda in Hollywood. You're already seeing companies abandoning the agenda in recent months. Even Disney themselves have realised their movies have been failing as a result. Everyone just wants movies without politics, instead of the in your face nonsense we've suffered for the last decade.
I would actually say I have seen too many Critical Drinker videos. None of us ever said that he doesn’t “break things down in minute detail”. It’s that many of his criticisms come from a very specific lens, and he hyper focuses on dumb culture war shit that should be banished from film discourse.
His critiques are as deep as a puddle. Nearly all of them are the same - whining about the same tropes he used in his Rogue Elements garbage, ironically - and it's clear that he's more interested in pushing his own message (all the time, ironically, while whining about "the message") than providing actually informative movie reviews. He's utterly talentless.
It's easy to talk the talk about screenwriting but not so easy to walk the walk. TCD makes a lot of solid points about the current state of Hollywood. That doesn't mean he is the man to do better. On the other hand, he's being slammed mostly because he's perceived as conservative and right wing, not because he wrote a bad script. This isn't fair, since TCD doesn't criticize writers or filmmakers for being liberal or left wing. He criticizes them for writing bad screenplays and producing bad TV and film.
None of our criticisms of the film are about him being right wing. We discussed how none of us watch his content anymore because he panders to the culture warrior crowd, but at no point do we appeal to that as to be a reason to dislike the movie.
@@UncleMikki While I don't disagree about the pandering thing, the fact is much of TCD's criticisms of contemporary Hollywood product are valid. It just so happens that Hollywood's questionable choices play directly into the hands of incels. The suits cynically tried to profit (tax-free) from wokeism, and this further degraded the quality of Hollywood's output. Criticizing that inevitably triggers claims that critics are merely "haters". TCD does and has praised some unlikely material, eg Wicked. The guy gives credit where it's due.

I don’t know why I keep laughing at Jack Elements
Hes trying to bury this and its so funny to watch his minions tie themselves in knots trying to make this pos seem credible
He dropped the ball on Annihilation too
He also has a hard time even talking about films in general.
Definitely woke lol
Yes Hollywood is woke , and Drinkers movie is an utter garbage. Both can be true at the same time.
@@Eat_Your_Lifecan you define "woke"? I'm old and out of the loop
Yo shout out to Cynthia Rothrock, lady is a total queen, she is to action what Barbra Crampton was to horror in that era. She rocks. Good taste my man
"I don't get what I'm supposed to be mad at" and "I thought we agreed films aren't real life" this right here sir, is exactly what I think most of the time I'm met with a critical drinker review and channels like him, thank you for putting it into words for me
He should have made a satire... it would have matched his brand... him making an ACTUAL Hollywood movie just proves what an arrogant narcissist he is
You need look no further than TCD's recent video covering the new Netflix film "The Six Triple Eight".
Glad I found this channel, you guys got the RLM crew energy while doing your own thing
I've said it many times before, The critical drinker is not a critical thinker.....with that being said even if I don't like his content I do admire someone that mainly does youtube having a go at making his own film, It's just that said film is terrible and definitely needed a better script
$500K and he couldn't even come up with a feature length film for his Modern Warfare power fantasy?

Oh my god, jesus, i hadn't even thought about them. I havent had the energu to even haye watch anything thing with any of them in it for like 2 years.
It could have been so easy to establish that the cut was forward through visual elements but he did not make use of that because it never crossed his mind.
i don't know what you boys are talking about i love blown out highlights and a urine soaked colour grade

Well I have to make some assumptions about what you're trying to sell then.

So don't flop in "Reacher" here. ;)
Anyway, "The Critical Stinker" could have made the whole ordeal of watching this - just 20 minutes short of a movie - film almost wholesome with one little trick.

Doesnt care about it

Drinker is the epitome of a Hollywood *wannabe*
His bitterness & resentment is on full display in every one of his videos.
I dont personally mind if
It actually serves the plot, or is tastefully handled.
The HBO Last of Us was an excellent example.

So this is an RLM knock-off channel?

We prefer "kirkland brand RLM". We saw how successful people like the Critical Drinker were ripping off of Mr. Plinkett, that we decided we would copy their super original format of talking about movies in a room together.
@@UncleMikki "... while pretending to be drunk." Stay true to the brand!
@etme1000 oh shoot, were we supposed to be pretending?
These guys have never seen a critical drinker review He's broken things down in very very minute detail before
I would actually say I have seen too many Critical Drinker videos. None of us ever said that he doesn’t “break things down in minute detail”. It’s that many of his criticisms come from a very specific lens, and he hyper focuses on dumb culture war shit that should be banished from film discourse.
And he still gets the criticism wrong, because he sucks!
