Seems like you need some “Judgment (and Punishment)” in your life. 😊 There’s an official video and a live video from Melbourne that’s great. Pick your preference. About to go watch your Billie reaction because I love her.
Some of the best musicianship from the guys in any song IMO, the weekend this came out I had to stop myself from headbanging because my neck was having issues by Monday. It is some of Tati's best vocal and lyrics too, but my favorite part is the instrumentals. Only issue with the concert performance is Tati's voice is a tad bit low in the mix, but other than that it is amazing. I kinda feel like the official video is distracting and while it fits the meaning of the song, IMO the meaning of the song is a lot deeper than the video can portray. But both are great.
Hey Josh, really enjoying your channel. Just thought I'd throw this in the mix. On March 7th I saw Jinjer live at The Zoo in Brisbane. I am 66 years old, so as you can imagine I have seen lots of concerts over the decades. This concert rates in my top 5...EVER !! They are that good !! This was also in a crammed, sweaty little venue that probably struggled to hold 800 people. Such was demand that they added a second concert on the Sunday night before they flew out to South America. Like Nightwish, this band is totally a sum of its parts, and in this case there are only 4. Really like your critiques and reactions...well done !! 😊😊
Great reaction!! Good place to go from here would be: I speak Astronomy (video) Outlander (failure.color) Just another (video) Scissors (video) These are just a few. It is so hard to recommend a single song by Jinjer because every song and performance is awesome!! If you like the reggae vibe at the end... Judgement and Punishment is a must!!
Wonderful reaction to one of my fac Jinjer song Please consider next from them Home back. I love that song. Is a song full of surprises and also with a strong message. Keep it up withvthe reactions. They are very good.
Loving your reactions... when I saw them in Melbourne, I did the whole meet & greet, and was right in front of Eugene for the set.. if you watch the video from Melbourne, you constantly see my head way above everyone else’s 😂
I saw them the day before in Canberra. Best spot to view Jinjer would be slightly away from the front. Not for Tatiana ( well perhaps a bit :) ), but it gives a good view of Vlad, Eugene & Roman too. Most people around me were smiling from ear to ear, they are so awesome to see live.
The full and deep guitar tone is due to Roman using relatively heavy strings tuned down to drop A. Slipknot uses similar tuning on a bunch of their songs(drop A and drop B).
Nice reaction Josh. As far as Jinjer is concerned, you should react to both Pit of Conciousness and On the Top, both live in Kiev/Kyiv. There are insanely awesome!!! 😊😊🎶🎶🎶🤘🤘🤘
Cheers on this reaction. One of my all time favorites whether live or studio versions for sure. It's always fun watching people try to headbang to that last dirty chunk before the outro. It's like they left out one beat from the measure. It take a time or two before you figure it out lol. Just keep going on the Jinjer music, doesn't matter where you go from here.
Beautiful, live even better! The four of them are brilliant. Enjoying your Jinjer reactions a lot. The quick pauses for some thoughts are spot on. For something diferent from them go for Judgment & Punishement official or live in Melbourne.
Check out Jinjer- judgment and punishment . You should see me in a crown was the 1st video of Billie's I had ever seen. I have a bit of arachnophobia as well. I was about 30 seconds in to the video and I knew exactly what was going to happen with big asz spider.
Glad you enjoyed it, Roman's outro is beautifully done. I love his tone. My suggestions: Teacher, Teacher, very popular for a reason. Heavy, progressive and with deep lyrics. Live footage with studio sound. Judgment & Punishment is fab, official video very entertaining, recent live version also good. Perennial, very moving, official video is beautifully shot and the live version is impressive. I'd watch the video first though, for context. I Speak Astronomy, very catchy riffs, nice video production, good range of vocal techniques (but the video really focuses on Tatiana to the exclusion of the rest of the band). Ape will blow your socks off. Short, hard, very progressive. Cloud Factory - older but absolutely rocks. Good environmental message. Sit, Stay, Roll Over - older but very aggressive - all about freedom and control. Outlander - ancient but great, featuring a 5-piece version of the band. The failure.color version is live footage with studio sound. That should keep you busy for a while!
The whole band is legit!!! Vlad the drummer makes me feel like I've been a beginning drummer for 17 years😂! Some of my favorites by Jinjer are. Captain Clock Outlander Plus minus No Hoard of value Words of wisdom On the Top Retrospection The Prophecy
Fun reaction. Such a classic song from them. Judgement & Punishment is epic - I really like the live in Melbourne video. Pit Of Consciousness live in Kiev is epic too - most savage growls of anything they've released.
This has become one of my favorite bands very quickly over the last year or so. But you mentioning that you are a bassist, this is the one I really wanted you to hear. It’s pretty killer. But don’t stop here. definitely do not stop here. everyone in this band is so good. I am so freaking glad that this stuff exists. So much good stuff out there. Everywhere!
On The Top live in Kiev, Pit of Consciousness, Outlander, I Speak Astronomy, Sit Stay Roll Over, Judgement & Punishment, Territorial Pissings with Suicide Silence
Nice to see your appreciation for every element of this band and their songs!👍 my request for the next jinjer song would be Captain Clock, there's a live version where Tatiana is wearing a black dress...can't remember where the show was but well worth a watch!! ✌👊🍻 edit: just checked and it's resurrection fest 2018
Another great live is I Speak Astronomy I think in Madrid Tatiana is wearing a hat to get the right one shots of the band are great and they sound as good as the video
Should suss out the professionally filmed live vid of their song "Judgement and Punishment" from Melbourne (they did an Aus tour in the first week of March this year). I was at the gig and it was absolutely insane, hands down best show I've ever been too, they crushed it start to end!
🐐 🐐 🐐!!! I met them. The nicest and most humble people you will ever meet. Love your videos and appreciation for Eugene. I put Eugene tied for 1st in best bassist ever. Next to Les claypool.
IMHO you are one of the best new appearances in the the reaction YT-world over a long time. I like your attitude, include that you let a video like the "special" one from yesterday just online, this, paired with your honesty about your panic, gives a huge feeling of a real authentic guy. Together with your definitely wider angle of view in your reactions than a lot of other reactors makes it fun to watch your videos. Jinjer reactions are the perfect example for this, like I wrote to your first reaction to Pisces - I like that you see "the whole thing" - most are so tunnelvisioned into Tatis craziness that they dont notice that the other three have the same level of skill on there instruments like she has on the vocals. Little story to Jinjer live related to your mentioning of there live energy : I saw them in November here in Berlin and they were the main band, it was an around 600 people club concert. There were three bands before, good til pretty good (I have to mention that I am not a real metalhead, just somebody who hears nearly every style of music and is open minded to new things - like Jinjer was for me) and it was a nice concert so far. Then, not far away from midnight Jinjer entered the stage and it was unbelievable how! They were a complete other level of power on stage than with the bands before, even for me much more thrilling than I expected. It was for sure one of the best concerts I have seen and there are a LOT! BTW - did you looked the playlist from Eugene playthroughs I linked you in the comments for Pisces? To give you something to react between your Jinjer highlights: take a look for "The HU", maybe first the full produced vid of "Yuve Yuve Yu" (----> th-cam.com/video/v4xZUr0BEfE/w-d-xo.html ) - they are also something special - a Mongolian "metal" band... Keep on going, avoid spiders, again best regards from Germany - I hope my English isnt to horrible to read... 😉😉
I’ve taken a screenshot of this in case I ever feel down, thank you so much! I haven’t watched his bass play through a yet but am very keen to! Thank you so much!
Hi Neo Plan, your written English is better than many native Brits who live in the UK. I'm a retired teacher and I've seen some painfully mangled prose. Your grasp of grammar is good but you make the same mistakes that English people make - because our language makes NO SENSE at all. "Too", "to" and "two"... crazy. We even have verbs like "cleave" which have roots in different original languages, in this case with opposite meanings. I kid you not, "cleave" means to split apart (to cleave a log) and it also means to stick together (the family that eats together cleaves together). What hope do people have? Madness.
@@tribaltalker1608 Many thanks for your feedback. I am aware of some of the traps English has - for me the to-too-two is indeed a minor one, I struggle more often with the use of "if" and "when".... And if we talk about hopeless traps for non native speakers, German has also some nasty stuff: The sentence "Den Mann dort umfahren!" has two complete different meanings, only by pronunciation. If you put the emphasis on the first syllable "um" it means "Drive the man down"/Drive into the man", if you put it on the second like "faaaahren" it means drive around him... Finally an explanation why your feedback is really important to me: I was a very bad English learner in school 40 years ago and I started to reactivate it in the early 90s with movies and today I am a mostly passive "user" by seeing movies, videos and reading online articles in English. My only active use - beside commenting on YT - is around gaming but there English is in nearly all cases the smallest common denominator with other non native English speakers, most of them with a less good grammar and pronunciation than me... 😂😂 So, thx again, stay safe, stay healthy!
@@neoplan6116 Thank you - and what an interesting example! I don't know any German (took French and Spanish) but it looks very interesting. Hey great analysis again by the way! I forgot to say that. And it is the analyzing most of us want at this point. I am personally tired of watching the "oohs" and "ahhs" of other first time channels reacting to mostly Pisces. If I didn't mention this already, there are literally only a handful of others who are on your level to critique material, musicians also. But you are right up there among the very best, and your manner is relaxing and yet somehow also you bring that anticipation to every video. The Jinjer fans love that I think.
IMO Ape, Outlander and No Hord of Value are the most underrated Jinjer tracks, but lest be honest they literally do not have a bad track so there is a massive library to choose from.
@@michaelbarnard3732 I hear you, I haven't heard one that's not at least listenable. One that comes to mind is LainnereP, but it's still listenable. It's got kind of an orchestra like vibe to it, and I like orchestra. I was hoping to see them again at Welcome to Rockville, but that obviously fell through. At least I got to see them headline back in October, the show was awesome. I just wish my buddy who turned me on to Jinjer had made it, especially since I paid $126 a piece of my money for scalped tickets. That's okay, someone I didn't even know got to go with me. Sorry, still bitter about that one.
WOW I'm in NE Florida as well, 😆. I was going to skip them at Rockville as I was able to reserve Meet-n-Greet tickets for their show in Atlanta, that was slated for next Wednesday. Hopefully I can arrange work schedule around their new show whenever they are able to reschedule it.
JINJER - Pit of Consciousness (Live in Kiev) | Napalm Records JINJER - Judgement (& Punishment) | Live in Melbourne 2020 JINJER - On The Top (Live in Kiev) | Napalm Records
Guitar tone is coming from a mesa rectifier tho he’s recently converted just using a helix with the onboard amp sims and a coffee cabs 2x12. This tone is more of the “old school djent” vibe, emg pickups and a tube screamer. So early slipknot, periphery, all have that slightly pushed mids and tight low feel.
Pit of consciousness (official video OR live at Kiev) Ape (official video) Retrospection (official video) Fyi: Saw in an interview with Euguene that he thinks "Retrospection" has the best bassline/arrangements that he has ever made. Perhaps you would appreciate this more than any average Joe. Any of these tracks though and you won't have a bad time.
Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU for talking so much about the whole band. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Tatiana, but the entire band is SO good, especially live. This whole band commands the attention of the crowd. I was supposed to shoot them (photos) this summer, but COVID effed me over. Keep it up man! I subbed!
Jinjer Cloud Factory official live video × 100 and Kreator Live from Chile 2018 opening Mars Manta / Phantom AntiChrist. Enjoy your station and your station just hit 60 been beating on skins since I was 9 me and my '65 Ludwig. Oh one last thing watch Buddy Rich pick one of his live performances go early 70s late 60s playing 5 piece -snare/tom /2 floor tom / floor bass/cymbals 3 you can do a lot with a little. Knew a girl from back in Jersey she use to say it's not the size of the it's how you use the magic it that it has!!!! Thanks Jimbo60AusTx
If you're interested, there's a bass playthrough of this song on their YT channel. There you can see all the craziness Eugene does. : ) And since you talked about Roman so much, there's a bunch of guitar playthroughs there and also a few on OD Guitars YT channel.
I absolutely love everything they have ever done but Outlander is my suggestion for the next reaction. It is from when they had a 5 piece band with a different drummer back in like 2010 or so and it shows that they were on top of their game back then as well and should have been worldwide much sooner in my opinion. Their video for Sit stay and roll over was the first video ever but it is not live, but still awesome in my opinion.

Hopefully I can arrange work schedule around their new show whenever they are able to reschedule it.
saw them live in Gothenburg last summer,... awesome! :)
Roman doesn’t have a lot of crazy leads, but when he does they’re great. Good vid.
I love jinjer!!!! Have you done an Epica reaction vidéo? That is other of my favorite bands
Listen to this without the vocals. Yes, Before I forget. Unreal.
JINJER - Pit of Consciousness (Live in Kiev) | Napalm Records
JINJER - Judgement (& Punishment) | Live in Melbourne 2020
JINJER - On The Top (Live in Kiev) | Napalm Records
Pausing Death. Unreal Jinjer song
More Jinjer, yes!
Would love to see you check out some Trivium. Lots of great songs by them. Shogun, In Waves, The Sin and the Sentence...
As a bass player, you should totally check out beyond creation
MOAR JINJER
judging by what you like Roman doing at the end, you'll be swayed by "Cloud Factory" (live from Napalm)
I love when people pay attention to the bassist! Eugene is a monster! Home back is a killer song to check out, although there's no MV for it!
Ape or Pit of Consciousness.
Pit of consciousness (official video OR live at Kiev)
Ape (official video)
Retrospection (official video)
Fyi: Saw in an interview with Euguene that he thinks "Retrospection" has the best bassline/arrangements that he has ever made. Perhaps you would appreciate this more than any average Joe. Any of these tracks though and you won't have a bad time.
Great reactions! Please do "Judgement and Punishment"
Massive kudos man, great reaction! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 subbed immediately
Thanks Henrik you legend
PLS listen to Home back!!
Its my favourite jinjer song.
If you like the funk and jazz parts i would suggest you listen to baggers dance.
That's Reggae at the end. The outtro
100% I couldn’t think of the word!
@@Roguenjosh yeah they have reggae segments in several of their songs
Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU for talking so much about the whole band. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Tatiana, but the entire band is SO good, especially live. This whole band commands the attention of the crowd. I was supposed to shoot them (photos) this summer, but COVID effed me over. Keep it up man! I subbed!
JINJER - On The Top (Live in Kiev)
Captain Clock (live AT Resurrection FEST -18) for them is dope too :D
"Cloud Factory" (Official live video)) \m/
You should take a look at the Bass Play throughs that Eugene does on youtube. He even puts tabs in there too
Oh wow do I dare even try and play one of these bass lines?! Hahaha
Roguenjosh yes! You should try!
BTW, if you love the mix of Regae, check out Judgement and Punishment, live in Melbourne. I was in that crowd and it was awesome. 🤘😎
I would be very happy with a reaction of the song Dreadful Moments (live)
Great song but depression af. Tack the outro from King Of Everything called "Beggars Dance" to the end of it to cheer up again. ;)
JINJER - I Speak Astronomy (LIVE at Summer Breeze 2018)
The riff right in the beginning sounds a lot like Shepherd of Fire by Avenged Sevenfold. Awesome song and performance!
Captain clock from resurrection fest. This one has a really raw sound from a live performance.
Dreadful moments, ape and pit of consciousness my favourites
Jumbo from Texas! Thanks heaps for the recommendation!
I meant Jimbo, auto correct hahaha
At the beginning, you mentioned mudvayne. They are one of eugines (bassist) favorite bands
See I knew I loved that guy
As soon as you said Mudvayne you got a thumbs up from me! haha
You’re a legend
If you're interested, there's a bass playthrough of this song on their YT channel. There you can see all the craziness Eugene does. : )
And since you talked about Roman so much, there's a bunch of guitar playthroughs there and also a few on OD Guitars YT channel.
You should reach to I Speak Astronomy and On The Top
If I start another band it’s for sure going to be called I speak astronomy
You should watch Arch Enemy live in Japan with Angel Gossow if you haven’t seen it. Angela has one of the biggest voices.
I haven’t heard that one before!
@@Roguenjosh yes yes yes, she is a beast
Roguenjosh , personally i love Blood is on your hands, from Japan.
@@Roguenjosh especially ravenous!
CgGoil Nemesis is my favorite from that set, the energy is just off the walls. But anything with Angela is awesome.
their bass player is probably top 3 in the world, thoughts?
Thoughts? No my friend, those are facts!
The guitar tone is similar to dime bag Darrel of Pantera "walk".. and this is the best metal band since Pantera in my opinion.. and even more dynamic
"What timing is this?"
Yes
