I was in this crowd, about 4 rows of people back from the stage. You can actually find me at 3:47 in the original video. Can honestly say this is one of my top 3 shows I have ever seen in my life. The sound quality was top notch, the performance was amazing. I still talk about this concert weekly and it happened 3 years ago! 🥰
Oh yea...one thing you have to know. Wacken has some of the best gear of any live show I’ve ever seen. You will see this, when you get into Nightwish. Most of their best performances are from Wacken as well. So yes the performance is great, but it is definitely with a big thanks to the gear and sound crew in general.
Wacken is the largest metal fest in the world, which is due to the audio being so good. I’m sure it’s just as good in the crowd! When I saw them live it sounds just like this. Their amazing.
As someone who has been at this very concert in that very crowd: it is every bit as awesome live as it looks in the video. Also Wacken Sound guys are on point as usual.
So Jinjer toured a Headlining set (roughly 1h 20min) in Australia 1 week before Australia got shut down due to COVID-19 and used Teacher , Teacher! as their opener ended with a track called Captain Clock. Also they are somehow better live than on track, been attending live metal/harcore shows very regularly for the last 9 years and they have been my favourite of all time.
I usually can't stand death metal.. but Tatiana and this band are so dynamic and top shelf I can't help but love them.. Jinjer is on a whole other level!!!
You right about last song! there was a technical fail in the beginning of show.. In an interview later bass player said that right before going on stage tech staff changed radio frequencies of their instruments to not cross with frequences of another stage. Bass player had other musician in his ear monitor and first minutes was spent on resolving this problem instead of playing. Due to delay they had to play minus one song. The last song should be Sit Stay Roll Over. next songs I recommend : JINJER - Sit Stay Roll Over JINJER - Pit of Consciousness (Live in Kiev)
About the recording quality: Wacken is the biggest music festival in Germany. It lasts three days and each year one of the official public TV stations in Germany reserves the whole nights to broadcast the best performances of Wacken. So yeah - it's BIG and professional as hell. (And it takes place in a tiny country village with just a few thousand, mainly elderly, citizens. ;) "Wacken" is the name of that village.) About their choice for the last track of the set: As far as I remember, they played at 9 o'clock in the morning. (And yeah, THIS MANY PEOPLE, most of them with a severe hangover, showed up for Jinjer) So they were basically heating up the audience for the next band of the day.
11.00-11.45, opening act on this (the biggest) stage on Friday. And it was four days. Wacken is pretty much THE metal festival in the Europe, it's legendary. Four days, more than hundred thousand attendees, god knows how many stages. And because many metal bands are pushing the limits and audiences are demanding, production quality here is really, really high.
I was there, and it sounded amazing! This was actually at 11 in the morning, and i was quite impressed that so many showed up for the show. One of the best for me at Wacken last year.. great live band
Great reaction and finally someone commenting on the energy they bring even on the final track of the set. 👍🏻👍🏻☺️ its amzing she did it so well, listen to how out of breath she is in the end. And kudos for acknowledging that you spoke over a good bass part, rewinded and took it again. Why don't all reactors do like you??
Many of their live songs have become the songs I listen to instead of the studio version just because I like them better. There is no overlap of vocals and they just sound that damned good.
All of their live performances are AMAZING this is just a great song with good footage and sound. Even when the sound system does them no favors they shine through
I heard someone say that wacken is like a live outdoor recording studio because of the quality. When I saw them last year they opened with Teacher Teacher and used Pisces as their encore. Pisces sounds like an odd choice, but when you were there and part of the massive sing along it was perfect.
Wacken always has great audio quality. And this was at 11:00 in the morning when they started. When you look for a live performance, WOA is the place too look for
This is their best presentation live and this is my favourite song by them.. amazing musicianship and Tatis vocals and performance just out of this world
Who's going to be the One, live is, for me, one of the best live performances by Jinjer. And features one of the best bass performances for any of their songs. That's the one I would recommend next.
For Nightwish "Ghost love score" official live, at wacken 2013 is a good one to start with. Another band you should check out is "Unleash the Archers". "Awakening" is a good song to start with for them. They are powermetal / melodic death metal and this video has a good view of them playing their instruments. Oh and keep checking out Jinjer, love it.
“Teacher, Teacher” was their opener when I saw them in September of last year. There’s a partial clip of their song “Outlander” from that show. Shitty 1:19 second clip from the pit with my phone in portrait mode, but that’s as raw and real as you get. (You see a bit of Eugene too, since I was right in front of him.) th-cam.com/video/jnq89boVobU/w-d-xo.html
Great reaction !!! You should try: Jinjer - Captain Clock (Official Live at Resurrection Fest EG 2018) JINJER - Who Is Gonna Be The One (Live) | Napalm Records JINJER - Just Another (Official Video) JINJER - Sit Stay Roll Over (Official Music Video) JINJER - Words of Wisdom (Live) | Napalm Records
I am so happy that you talked about the fact is the last song. And still how amazing she sounds. Lots of people do not even realize that. Amazing reaction as always.
@@Roguenjosh yeah. She sure is. Happy to see that people recognize her talent and the band's talent. They are amazing and for us, reactions to their songs are fun to watch
I love seeing reactions from ppl who truly appreciate musical talent and get excited about great musical quality jinjer is amazing on all fronts great with everything they do keep up the good work my friend much love to you and jinjer
My son, then aged 20, went to "Wacken" in 2010. It's a 72 hour long Metal music by night/ Viking events by day 'festival concert' type gathering in northern Germany. In 2010 it had been going for 25 years!!! People gather from all over, especially up from Germany and down from the Netherlands. He loved it, to say the least. His German was limited, but everyone was really helpful & friendly. He even won a "First Blood" event, during the day. Said he walked into the centre of the circle, they count in 1, 2, 3 & he just punched the guy straight in the nose. Won a copy of Led Zepplin III, vinyl LP, still in it's original plastic wrap. You should read uo on it. It's legendary!!! I must sound like a terrible mum., but it was his first OS trip. Managed for 16 days on his own. I was really proud of him for that. 😎💖
I Speak Astronomy is a good song, same album as Pisces. Retrospection is another amazing song. Both of those get stuck in my head for days at a time. Great melodies.
I agree. I absolutely love that break down after the build up at 3:00 and I think they could've repeated that in the end as well. It would make me go crazy.
Great reaction. These guys are even better live! Check "Who's Gonna Be The One (live), "On The Top" (Live in Kiev) or "Judgement & Punishment" (live in Autralia). Keep up the Jinjer train!
If you want to see(and hear) the crowds perspective go to 14:15 in this video: th-cam.com/video/cWZZy06uD3Y/w-d-xo.html Not the greatest quality recording but you can see that there’s very little done in post.
1. In your previous vid you said "shes screams and sings in studio versions, so shes probably choosing which one to do in the live versions" - As you can see from this performance, no, she switches on the fly. 2. "How is the recording quality so good for this live performance" - cause its Wacken.
Mayhem 55 I will say that from bootlegs, some of the layer from THIS performance were added in post when the video was uploaded. That or it was extremely faint in the live mix. Even still, the bootleg proves her immense talent
I've watched an interview about this with Eugene, he explained that they have a 3-way split on the snake that sends to FOH, in-ear monitors, and also to a multi-track recorder. So after the show, they have all the raw tracks of the show, which Max Morton re-mixed and dubbed over the Wacken video. So it's a different mix than what the audience might have heard on premises, but coming from the same actual performance. They always play to a click, there are some backing tracks for sound effects and harmony vocals coming from the laptop the Vlad has next to him. But it's live, nevertheless. I've seen them in a club and we could hear the same backing tracks.
Wacken shows are often recommended because Wacken sound engineering is legendary. And these main stages let tens of thousands of people, up to over 80000, see the band at the same time so bands often put out their very best. For an European metal band performing at big Wacken stage is a huge milestone.
I dig your reactions, and this one was no exception-keep it up! And a few other commenters have suggested checking out “Who’s Gonna Be the One” as a next track, and I gotta agree. Because that’s a fantastic. And as for Nightwish, I think that “Ghost Love Score” would be an excellent first track to listen to. You’ll love it. PS I’ve noticed that you’re a fan of keyboard shortcuts, and as that goes-if it may be of interest, you can also use J to go backward 10 seconds, K to play/pause, and L to move forward 10 seconds.
This was requested by everyone because it is maybe the best all-around live performance, though not the most dynamic one. There is a little bit of everything here with great Wacken audio/video quality that portrays how good Jinjer can be live. What next? Too much to list between older/newer, live/studio, pick one that looks interesting to you as every track is different in some way.
Planet Hell was my first Nightwish song and I reckon that'd be great! Also has their first singer, Tarja, so you get a feel for their original sound Check out the End of an Era performance if you do that one!
I'm really happy I found a bass player to react to jinjer music. Eugene is a big part of the band and you should check the song Dreadful Moments (Live). Its freaking awesome.
Wacken is one of the world's largest metal festivals. Every live performance they post have great sound and camera work. Not sure if there is any post production, but it is standard for a Wacken performance to sound great and well mixed. I have seen a crowd cam version of this 30min set and it still sounded good from a phone recording.
They usually open with 'Teacher, Teacher' from what I've seen...and leave 'Pisces' as either a mid-list break or as the encore song...this wasn't supposed to be the last song...and there is another video from a different source for this concert and this song specifically...I do not have the link handy though.
From what I heard there was a small amount of work done in post on this video, however I’ve seen a video from the crowd and it still sounds absolutely phenomenal
Took my son to the concert here in Radelaide. We were both blown away they are just so good, so glad we got to see them before the world lost the plot. Great video BTW, just subbed. You should also check out the Nirvana cover they just did whilst in Isolation. \m/
Yes Josh, we've been waiting for this and you didn't disappoint! Another song to check out (from their earlier years) is 'Outlander' (official vid). Always good for huuuuge goosebumps and a grin in your face!!
Their last US tour they were opening with Teacher Teacher, and closing with Cloud Factory. Pisces encore. However, they do not do the standard drawn out ending to a song/ set. They play their music exactly as they are recorded.
The first Jinjer video that BLEW MY MIND is the one for "I Speak Astronomy". Can't pass it up! As for Nightwish, be aware that their older material with Tarja can be considered as standing separate from the current era with Floor Jansen. I'd strongly recommend watching/listening to BOTH for context and contrast. That being said, Floor's performance of "The Poet and The Pendulum" (live at Wembley) would be a great jumping off point!
This video is a great way to show that they can hold up live and especially that Tatiana can perform these growls and switches even at the end of a gig still as solid. All in all, it's always super interesting to see people with different musical backgrounds react to them as everyone always points out nice small things and just how tight they are. In regards to Nightwish... I think Romanticide might be a great introduction for you. They got a huge variety of really great songs too though. Maybe you see some other recommendations for them but these would be alternatives to get into them: "Wishmaster", "Endlessness", "Wish I Had an Angel"
Wacken is always a good quality because most of the festival is shown on german tv as live stream. Plus they have a lot of experience due the history of this festival... Therefor the audio performance at the festival ground/infront of the stages is very good aswell.
After you check out Nightwish take a peek at Unleash the Archers song 'Awakening'. Being a musician you will love everything the band does with their guitar work, especially the bass riffs ... and the drums ... bruh!!!
My favourite Jinjer song is Outlander there is a live version from when they competed as The Ukraine’s best metal band 2013. Also Pitt of Consciousness from there last album is kick ass.
3:21 - "Checkout that crowd." Yea, it's packed because they performed on the smaller stage, which I don't understand. Band with this much talent should be a headliner at any metal festival. Especially in 2019 they were already widely known. 3:54 - It was an amazing performance dude.
Best songs to react to by Jinjer; Perennial (music video), Ape, Sit Stay Roll Over, On The Top, Cloud Factory, Who Is Gonna Be The One (Live) and I Speak Astronomy!
Great reaction again!!! Jinjer is so amazing in every performance that I have ever seen!!! There is alot of live performances Jinjer out there.... anywhere from cell phone video to the better quality that wacken is known for. Who is gonna be the one live is a very good one. If you want some crowd footage of them look here.... th-cam.com/video/ynvUui1vYjM/w-d-xo.html And here th-cam.com/video/D1ad613iQR4/w-d-xo.html And no worries about mispronouncing wacken....lol!!!
@@Roguenjosh haha thanks, but i have actually never heard of buttrock/buttcore before. the name is quite a few years old and a reference to 2 german guys who went under the name "We butter the Bread with Butter" some fans called their style buttercore. if you are interested, here is one of their first songs, original album release was in 2008 th-cam.com/video/0NG_vvQVk78/w-d-xo.html
Wacken records most of the artists and broadcast them live in tv (here in germany). So yes the productionvalue is quite high. But you have to remember Wacken is the biggest metal festival in the world. So in fact all of the concerts are in that quality. The mentioned Nighwish "Ghost Love Score" was also shot at Wacken so if you react to that as well you will see it!
Watch as Australian Francis from Malcolm in the Middle talk about Jinjer.
You HAVE to watch “Who is gonna be the one live”. There is a small lesson in finger tapping from Eugene.
Once you've watched that, there is a bass playthrough that Eugene does of that song as well. Fantastic!
Agree with "Who's Gonna Be The One (live)"
Yes! That live performance is epic!

Not only an amazing singer, she's a great performer too. She owns the stage when they play out.

up

Roguenjosh you're doing it right, man! It really should be mandatory. 😉
I'll keep my recommendation to a single video/song: "Ape" official video.

Tatiana is an angel, demon duet rolled up in one person.
They sound just like the cd live. Seen them 13 times. Best shows hands down

Pit of conciousness is my favorite, theres an official video and a live video, both are great
This is their best presentation live and this is my favourite song by them.. amazing musicianship and Tatis vocals and performance just out of this world
Cool technician Agreed and I think On The Top live in Kiev is on par with this one.
Song of 2012. Very cool.
"Jinjer - Scissors (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO)"
Sit, Stay, Roll over - Powerfull, technical, fast, and she is on fire, do the official video, its good
Who's going to be the One, live is, for me, one of the best live performances by Jinjer. And features one of the best bass performances for any of their songs. That's the one I would recommend next.
Oh Man, i love this Sweet little Demon called Tatiana! ♥️♥️
Love this song Jinjer always delivers 😁👍👍
For Nightwish "Ghost love score" official live, at wacken 2013 is a good one to start with.

Definitely Ghost Love Score!

what Corin said ;)
Noo,
Definitely do Ghost Love Score but not first. Planet Hell first and go the End of an Era 2005 live version
You'll appreciate seeing their first singer first I reckon!
This band made me love metal, pure and simple. They are shockingly good.
“Teacher, Teacher” was their opener when I saw them in September of last year. There’s a partial clip of their song “Outlander” from that show. Saw them in Philly last year.
I'm so upset I didn't go see them the other month. A driver at work went, but I hadn't heard enough of them to know how amazing it would have been!
Yeah and now who knows when there will be shows again!!
Bernadette Murphy I had tickets to see them a week and a half from now, but it was postponed. 😕
I also have tickets to see them. Who knows when now 😭
Great reaction !!! You should try:

JINJER - Just Another (Official Video)
JINJER - Sit Stay Roll Over (Official Music Video)

“Who is gonna be the one?” by Jinjer is the live song that outshines Perennial😁
Not surprised at the quality of a Wacken recording,
It's such a massive festival
Check out their performance of Judgement ( & Punishment) Live in Melbourne 2020. This is another great live song.
As for the Nightwish song you have to listen to Ghost Love Score love from Wacken again. Enjoy.
Agreed 🤣🤣👌👌

Best starter for nightwish is gost love score at wacken 2013. Made me cry.
If you want another good live and a song from an older album, who is gonna be the one (live) is a great example! Really shows the showmanship
Best 4 person band Ive ever heard
The recording is so good on this, super talented band. Totaly hear those butterlfy effect vibes aswell. Keep the vids flowing

I was so gutted I couldnt make their Melbourne show back in march :(
I wish I knew about them when they were here!

I would say Jinjer- Who gonna be the one "live". It"s a very popular request.

You need to check out Who is Gonna Be the One Live. It focuses on the bass for some of it, and shows what Tatiana can do.
Yes Josh, we've been waiting for this and you didn't disappoint! Another song to check out (from their earlier years) is 'Outlander' (official vid). Always good for huuuuge goosebumps and a grin in your face!!
I was there, the sound was top notch 👍
They sound good as fuck live I have seen them 6 times every single show is as good as the next absolutely my favorite band!
I highly recommend watching Jinjer - Pit Of Conciousness live in Kiev
2:25 Thank you for acknowledging that, most reactors just straight ignore that.
You should check I speak astronomy live and who is gonna bé the one live too
Their last US tour they were opening with Teacher Teacher, and closing with Cloud Factory.
Their live videos for the most part are all great who is gonna be the one and Judgement and Punishment Melbourne next please
Being a musician you will love everything the band does with their guitar work, especially the bass riffs ... and the drums ... bruh!!!
You just witnessed musical perfection.
Definitely I speak Astronomy by Jinjer next and someone has already said Ghost Love Score for Nightwish live
My favourite Jinjer song is Outlander there is a live version from when they competed as The Ukraine’s best metal band 2013. Also Pitt of Consciousness from there last album is kick ass.
3:21 - "Checkout that crowd."
Yea, it's packed because they performed on the smaller stage, which I don't understand.
Butterfly effect came back last year 👊👊 bass runs in this remind me of Karnivool

And no worries about mispronouncing wacken....lol!!!
i was there live, sounded awesome af from the crowd
Awesome, and nice name, I was just talking about buttcore in my newest breaking Benjamin video
@@Roguenjosh haha thanks, but i have actually never heard of buttrock/buttcore before.
the name is quite a few years old and a reference to 2 german guys who went under the name "We butter the Bread with Butter"
some fans called their style buttercore.
if you are interested, here is one of their first songs, original album release was in 2008

Butterfly Effect was incredible. That was fun to hear you talking about!
Parkway drive - Wild eyes (Live at Wacken)
OUTLANDER
I’m always shocked that I have to look for this recommendation
Well it wasn’t on the list yet so I’ll add it!
who is going to be the one live next bro. nice reaction. i like your incite as a musician
There's a video where Eugene, their bassist, talks about making a recording of this. If needed, will be glad to translate it.
