Thank you sooo much. I finally got my machine to stop skipping stitches. Been fiddling with it for days but thanks to your video I got it set in 20 min. And it hasn’t a skipped a stitch yet.
Thanks for sharing this! It took a LOT of trial and error when I was working on mine a few years ago. Mostly error. In my mind I was trying to get the LT & RT to be balanced and equal at the point the hook crosses the scarf, but this made me realize that's impossible because the issue was that extra 7mm travel has to be accommodated. So on one side, the hook cheats a tiny bit early (so a little higher in the scarf) and on the other it arrives right at the last moment before the eye rises too far (toward the bottom of the scarf). I just recently had to reset timing on my "new to me" vintage Consew 99 zig zag (I posted about it on the Facebook group you mentioned, under the pseudonym Juan Diego). This task is simple in concept but really tricky to get just right. I love my Singer 20u33 by the way. In my collection of old domestic and a few industrial machines, it is usually now my go-to workhorse. Very versatile.
Great Video and very helpful in checking everything out Maybe you can help me figure out why the stich is not tight on the back side , no needle breakage or thread breakage gust will not tighten up
Assuming your machine is timed properly you can tighten the spring on the bobbin case or you can loosen the top thread tension. You may want to very carefully clean the spring on the bobbin case and perhaps remove the spring and bend it with your fingers to give it a slight curve. The spring on the bobbin case is just one piece of metal with a little bit of a curve in it held in with a very teeny tiny tiny teeny screw
Thanks so much for sharing these important information on the singer 20U sewing machine... Question, please do a close up video on how to full the bobbin on the 20U as well I'd really appreciate it because I totally forgot how to full it after many years I don't remember how to full it please and thanks in advance 🙏🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲❤️
I recently acquired a Singer 20U and having an issue with it. I load the bobbin and put it in the case and turn the flywheel to pick up the bobbin thread. The needle hits the bobbin case and that is as far as I get. Am using the needles the owners manual recommends. Any thoughts? Someone said the machine is out of timing. It ran perfect when I bought it.
First thing is have you got the side with the scallop facing towards the bobbin hook? Then are you turning the wheel in the proper direction? And maybe remove the bobbin case and verify it is rotating properly then try to reinsert the bobbin case it needs to snap in maybe you're not fully inserting the bobbin case. I hope one of these suggestions will help you. Good luck
Hi, thanks for your explicit video. I really appreciate it. I would like to know what is the maximum stitch width on this machine? some people say 9mm and others say 12mm.
Hello! I’m so glad I found your channel. I just bought a machine very similar to yours. It’s the Singer model 20-13. Would you by chance be able to make a video of how you wind your bobbin?
Parece muy bueno el video, pero estoy en Argentina y no entiendo el idioma, x favor podría poner los subtitulado en español??? Gracias de Argentina 🇦🇷 Cristina juana alvarado

What is the purpose of the indicator plate, with the two screws? Part # 606458, according to the manual.

The bobbin Winder is the mechanism mounted to the table separate from the machine. It's a standard bobbin Winder found on many industrial machines
That was lovely. Thanks
I just subscribed to your channel can you make a video on the 20U on how to set the timing if it is out of time I don't seem to understand that
