      It’s more core work tbh. However you should still get one! 😂
      Thanks for watching 😀

    Nice Video, loved the playmobile explanation!

      Highly technical playmobile Segway 😂
      Thanks for watching though, I love your videos. I have a lot to learn from you

      @@TheGrayExplorer Thanks, very kind of you to say. I was mega envious when I saw your 2nd angle from the other boat, I'd kill for that! 😂

      Tell me about it. Finding actual interesting angles to film from consumes me 😅. It gets kinda weird throwing your camera at someone begging them to point it at you 😅

    Great video! I'm planning a little paddle upstream and back again from Chollerford and wondered how much flat water there is before the rapids section please? Thanks

    • @TheGrayExplorer
      @TheGrayExplorer  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A lot. Tbh except one rapid none of them were particularly bad anyway. I think you'll fall into the other problem which a lack of water more than rapids to be honest

    the fishing season finishes long after October depending what your fishing for, theres now a charge to use access at the george hotel, no more freebees gates locked

      yer the new manager has locked the gate a was up there fishing and a was told not to leave the gate open, love to do kayaking but not fit enough mint@@TheGrayExplorer

      @@kopynd1 I’m far far from fit. It’s more endurance than fitness. On a river like this video you could just sit and float tbh and you’d still make your goal.

    Since it's made for it, you should take that boat on whitewater

    • @TheGrayExplorer
      @TheGrayExplorer  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shame the paddlers a right fanny 😂
      It’s been on white water, just nothing too scary, once I can get back on the river there’s some proper good stuff coming up

      @@TheGrayExplorer Na man, I've seen people who think they wouldn't have the skills or nerves for it become really good. Good thing about WW is the learning process is fun and it's addicting. Get that Katana cutting some rapids

    Great video John, I’m just waiting on delivery of my first kayak and was hoping to paddle the Tyne between Wylam and Newburn at some point, is that an unwritten rule about not paddling in summer so not to disturb the fishing? New sub by the way 👍

    • @TheGrayExplorer
      @TheGrayExplorer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s quite an established rule I’ve found. However wylam is the tide mark. After wylam no-one owns the river so your free from there, I’ve been desperately trying to get to wylam all winter long 😂
      Thanks for watching though 😀

    • @mrjole5407
      @mrjole5407 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the info John glad there’s no restrictions past Wylam 👍 hope you make it there this year ha 🤞🏻

    • @SeaKayakingNorthumberland

      @@mrjole5407 I've never really had any bother from the fishermen. I've paddled it year round, usually when the sea is too big to get out, Newburn to Wylam and back is a nice section of the river and there are usually a few rapids towards the bridge at Wylam that can be used to practice breaking in and out of moving water (useful for tide races in a sea kayak), you can push into these as far as you feel comfortable, just make sure you have a helmet on, it's pretty jagged around there.
