I suppose with any mod, you need to consider whether it’s for functional or aesthetic reasons, or both. I’ve seen trucks with both a tonneau cover and sports bar, you just have to get the right sports bar. Keep up the content Rob!

Works if you want to haul a tall item like refrigerator. Can add under and upright tucked away storage if made from c purlin and allows for rear window protection, side bar tie off to bars, tarp cover cargo. The Tacoma looks whimpy in the rear without some modification

There's no reason for that kind of damage during shipping. That's just careless. My Diamondback bed cover was properly packaged and arrived without incident. Regarding the bar itself, not a fan. Its at-a-glance appearance it good, but it looks like it was adapted from some other truck and that's why it doesn't fit better. It unnecessarily takes up most of your side bed rails. Now I'm not suggesting you take it off or anything, it doesn't matter what I think as long as you like it. That's the beauty of the Tacoma, they don't all have to look the same. 😁 Oh, don't cut any wires on the OEM 3rd light, just remove the bulbs.

Good morning Rob! I think it looks great as is! As for the tonneau cover, mine is factory and honestly, I could take it or leave it. It basically made my long bed a short bed, so if I hall my quad or anything big, it's got to come off. Never had one before, only good thing is it does keep things dry if it's raining, and as most say, you can lock it.
I hadn’t thought of the space loss with the long Bed! I bet it’s a drag having to mess with the cover😬
@@RobMotive It is an inconvenience! It takes the I'll just throw it in the bed factor out .. without pre planning. That's what I dislike the most!
I highly doubt 90 pounds is going to affect the towing capacity let's say the max towing cap is 2000 pounds so you can't tow if the gross weight is 2090? Give me a break throw it in an go it's a truck 90 pounds isn't going to matter

You could also turn the bolt around and have the bolt head exposed instead of the nut end.

I guess the Sport bar is ok if you don't want a tonneau cover. I prefer having a tonneau cover on my truck, to protect anything I put there, plus I can lock it. I read where there is a bulletin out for some brand of Chevy truck Sport bars, for wind noise, and I think rattles?

Don't like sport bars. Do like black diamond back hard Tonneau covers. The storage box is in another teaser.
These are non-problems, and most can be avoided by purchasing a vehicle-specific bar. Might cost a bit more, but it's doesn't find weird
You should get a color hard lift cover. You don't haul anything anyway

I've only installed those on the channel. You're best bet is to contact the vendor directly.
Maybe you can put a blue vinyl wrap to cover your 3rd brake light instead.. to blend the color 👍
