Unpopular opinion, probably: I wish that Subaru would quit with the giant screens that encompass drive modes and aircon. Some things just need knobs.
Very happy with the knobs and buttons on my 21. Who is demanding touchscreens on everything?
thats my opinion too and one of the reasons I sold my 2021 Outback. I much prefer tactile buttons and dials over touch screen everything.
Facts.
Not that unpopular. I own a current gen and I have the same opinion.
THANK YOU!I don’t want ALL those screens. Seat heaters and X mode and temp NEED to be physical
Had to do a double take because from the front it looks like a rental car Ford SUV...
Subaru is never about the looks anyways
😂 I was going to say it looks like a Ford Escape too
Yeah the front leaves a lot to be desired.
I thought so too.
Bingo. Pass on this one. Just another boxy SUV clone.
The 2025 Subaru FordExplorester
Gonna be honest, I think the previous years looked better!
You said it! Agreed. I don't see anything I like from a styling perspective. Kinda Blah.
I like the front more and back less.
I own the current gen Forester.
@@johng.4959 I think the generation back in 2015-2016 was the best looking. It just got progressively uglier each generation.
@haydenallee4579 this one looks a lot more masculine. Last one has a rounded shape which looks very dated.
I'm convinced Forester designers went blind around 2007. After the SG they lost the plot
So glad I got my 23 FW. I'm sure the design will grow on us, but mannnnnn I just love the aggressive look that the 23 forester / outback and rav4 all have
Right there with you Thomas.
Aye, just bought a 24 OBW and love it!
This looks identical to the 2023 Honda Pilot but smaller.
We got one too (about 5 months ago). We also love it. Actually glad we didn't wait for the newer models.
glad I didn't wait
So it's a smaller ford explorer comlpete with the blue oval? LOL! Or if the pilot and explorer had a kid. Not saying it's a bad car, just the styling looks like a copy of other cuvs.
I like it from some angles, especially back and side, but I'm not a huge fan of the front. Too Explorer like. Just seems to lack character. I like the bronze accents on the Sport and black headliner. I think the Sport would look pretty decent in a dark/medium blue. I'll keep my current Forester though.
With every revision, I appreciate the simplicity and reliability of my 2012 Foz. That 4EAT will live forever.
I actually traded in my brandy new 2022 Outback XT Limited for a 2015 Forester 6 speed for the exact same reason. Subi lost it's way somewhere.
do you enjoy this form of advertising?
@@ashlyknapp1798 The video? I watch car reviews for fun. But mainly Savagegeese, the Car Care Review guy, Straight Pipes, The Smoking Tire etc. Unbiased car enthusiasts. This kind of video pops up on my feed so I watch it anyway and splatter my unsolicited opinions in the comments section. I can also justify talking sh** about Subarus as a 10 year ‘14 WRX owner (who went thru 1 motor rebuild (rod knock), 2 transmission rebuilds, 2 clutches, a steering rack, 2 wheel bearings) and now took over my wife’s ‘12 Forester (that also got a new motor @99k due to the oil consumption issue, but otherwise excellent), and we just got a ‘23 Honda Pilot, so I’ve been eyeing up new car reviews heavily for the past year.
@ashlyknapp1798 Not sure I understand what you're asking?
@@onevoiceunheard Just got myself a 2015 Forester too but XT. Wish the XT had manual though.
Pretty underwhelming to be honest…the front end especially! Maybe I just have to see in person.
Comparing to the latest design from Toyota and Mazda, I d like to think this is an inferior design.
They made the same move Hyundai did with the Santa Fe pretty much
It is not inferior design. It is anti-design. (Subaru owner here)
Makes me cherish my 2008 FXT even more.
More bonus points if yours is Sports XT.
I had 2004 FXT (manual), then my dad 2008 FXT like yours, and my wife currently has 2014 FXT. I 100% agree SG chassis Forester was the best.
👍
2002-2008 were subarus best years, RIP my 2007 impreza :(
I had the 05 XT. Joy to drive. Performance and handling in snow.
I had the 06 FXT. Great car and quick. But the new Foresters are light years ahead in every category but the speed department.
Looks like crap. I don't want Ford in my Japanese car.
I have the 2022 SFW, I love the split screen display it has. The small upper screen in the dash is kind of a collection of everything that's going on in the car without having to stare down at the main screen. The main screen serves to display whatever function you are using; Media, map, radio, etc. I thought the split screen was a great idea. I am sorry to see that it will be discontinued.
I have a 2023 Forester… the split screen is cool, kind of gives it character. The little “shelf” is convenient to keep a pair of sunglasses too when you get out. I’ve never been a fan of large screens myself…
Who buys a 2022 Forester, so goofy. Hope u got a mega deal on it, for ur own sake.
Totalmente de acuerdo, actualmente tengo un Subaru Xv y me encanta la pantalla dividida ayuda mucho y le da personalidad
@@tahsin28you really decided to come onto this channel to hate, and to hate only. don’t you have anything better to do? let other people be people, my god
First, Subaru ruined the WRX and now the Forester! Crosstrek lucked out! Outback is probably next in line to get butchered.
The new aesthetic is not a good look. I don’t know what Subaru was thinking on this one.
Idk it kind of reminds me of a Mercedes in the rear, and it looks like a Ford Explorer in the front from the distance
That silhouette looks very Rav 4. Toyota influence is strong on this one.
Yes and that is not a compliment. Toyotas are butt ugly.
I own a 21 Sport and I'm not loving this new one.
Looks like a Ford. The front clip got really boring compared to the last two generations and doesn't line up at all with the rest of the family.
Also disappointed that they didn't come out of the gate with either a hybrid or the tried and true 2.4 turbo.
When I trade my current Forester in, I'm now leaning heavily towards the Crosstrek Wilderness or maybe a Legacy Sport.
I have a Legacy XT with the 2.4 and it's a great car. My only complaint is no hard buttons for the heated seats.
@@wvusmc That would drive me up the wall. I don't want to wait for the screen to boot up when my rear end is freezing cold. Then to search for the function on a screen and try to click on it, it just makes everything worse. Screen integration for climate controls and seat controls makes no sense
The front design was supposed to resemble the 2006-2008 forester but ended up looking like a ford. Subaru designers are experts at driving loyal customers away
I don’t know which Subaru designer woke up one day and said, let’s make our cars look more like a Ford because they are stunning, but they need a therapist.
Front looks like a Ford Explorer.
Overall a nice redesign and good review.
I’m really glad I just bought a 23MY Forester. This new “redesign” is absolutely hideous..🤦🏻♂️
I’ll hold my opinion on looks for the inevitable Wilderness edition. Would also be nice if Subaru gave it the FA24 turbo from the Outback Wilderness.
How could they possible settle on this design selling ? Its ridiculous. They even kept the same lame underpowered engine . It's going to be at least a bit heavier so even slower . Good luck Subaru . Far from a upgrade looks wise
Looks like you do not understand the customer base.
I am a current gen owner and would not accept the new one with drastical changes to the looks if it means worse visibility or trunk usability.
Utility is my priority not the looks.
I'm interested in what their Hybrid might be like. So long as they're using a Toyota hybrid engine in it.
Im guessing they would neuter this & give it the hybrid system from the corolla cross instead of the Rav4 to protect sales
I'm guessing using the RAV4 type hybrid system but doing it more like the the Jeep renegade hybrid that's in Europe to where or the hybrid Hondas to where the hybrid system is up front but it still has a drive shaft going to the back.
If it doesn't get at least 35 mpg, it'll be a hard sell against the hybrid RAV4 which eats everyone's lunch at 40+ mpgs
@@upperleftnorthwest4278Toyota has already cancelled some RAV4 hybrid orders due to extreme lengths of wait times.
Yes please. Get rid of the outdated H4. Old tech and subaru is dying on that hill
Thanks for the excellent preview of the new 2025 Subaru Forester. There was no mention of a CD player. I hope that they did not eliminate the CD player from the new Forester!
Front end looks like a ford, and no one was asking for Subaru to look more like a ford.
I kept seeing a Ford emblem every time it panned across the front. 😂
It looks like a Rav4 to me, and I hate the giant tablet infotainment.
A lot of really nice new updates... but I'm glad I have my 2017 2.0 XT Touring to keep me happy until they finally offer another Turbo Forester. :\
Never would change my XT for a non turbo
@@cadumgarcia I did... The CVT is shite, in my opinion, and I had to go backwards to get a 6 speed. Otherwise, I would totally agree with you.
I like mine 23’ premium without the giant infotainment screen which is so slow when I had a loaner
Wish they would of gave it a better approach angle in the front
Why does Subaru continue to refuse to put the turbo Outback engines in the Forester? It’s 2024 (model year), you can’t be selling big heavy SUVs with engines whose HP/torque figures start with a 1
Pontiac Aztec reborn.
Ha ha. Always somebody.
@@drivingsportsIt is not something you would call beautiful, nevertheless...... Right?
I just saw an orange Aztec about an hour before seeing this. I was wondering where I saw that think before. This Forester would look like a pretty good improvement if it were a Pontiac Aztec. 😅
I just purchased the 2024 and was hesitant but now that I saw this one I’m happy with my 2024. It seems a bit blah
Decidedly a Ford Explorer at the front especially in the white sport trim .Did I spot Roman and Andre from TFL peaking over the hedge? 😂
What's the time stamp in the video where you saw someone peaking over the hedge?
I think I’ll hold onto my 2021 for a lot longer. I’m sure this new one is great, but it just looks off. Maybe as time goes on it will grow on me
I’m still curious to see what the hybrid powertrain is like
No reason to let go of my 2017 2.0 XT Forrester which pushes out 255HP (give or take). If/When Subaru upgrades the powertrain and returns to some manual controls (E-Brake, Heat for seats and cab, X-Mode ...etc), then I will consider it. Until then, no cigar
Could not agree more. Also, a manual would be nice, at least for the "enthusiast" trims, which I thought was what the "Wilderness" line was supposed to be?
Indeed, no power train upgrade means won't be considered by me.@@onevoiceunheard
I would like to know if this will still be made in Japan or if they will move production to the U.S.
Subaru! No No No No No No! I waited to buy a car until the 2025 Forester came out! All I’m getting is cheap Ford edge look!! 😢😢😢 it is freaking uggggggly! why did you have to torture us with that cheap weird looking grill! I really really really hope with the wilderness addition you make up for it! And give us a damn Turbo! My Dog yawned and hacked a bit when I told him to look at the new Forester.. Think about the dogs!
That front end looks just like a Honda Ridgeline or Passport. I'm not sure I love the looks all around.
Not bad. I like my Forester 2020 a lot, but this one, of course, looks like descent successor, unmistakably recognizable though.
This could be mistaken for a new ford edge from the front.
so far that new forester look like a mix of explorer and rav4 from the outside.
All I see is a Honda. Very disappointed
And RAV 4.😔
It looks like a Ford RAV4. No improvement in engine power, still no heated steering wheel when equipped with heated seats - you still need the top trim to get both, no heated rear seats, no improvement in camera, no panoramic sunroof, Toyota gear shifter, rear seats no longer recline (possibly an error?), no longer physical buttons for x-mode and heated seats. And buttons instead of dials for the climate controls is a step backwards. I just don't see where the improvements are, whilst everything else is a step back - I'll be keeping my 2022 Wilderness.
Gotta hand it to Ford, this new escape looks amazing.
Ford explorer you mean.
Earlier that morning I saw a Land Rover Discovery and the headlights look identical. That’s stuck with me.
Looks like the only fatal flaw again is the dangerous and unsafe "Infotainment Screen" required for usage.
If Subaru comes out with a great hybrid system like Toyota, that would be awesome. Currently driving a 2017 Forrester. Thanks for sharing this info.
Looks like the approach angle is going to be considerably worse than the current model. I just don't understand it.
This is what Wilderness will be for. Most people simply do not need that much and prefer better fuel efficiency.
@@valdius85 it's unnecessarily long nosed. Even with a slight lift and a slightly revised chin, it's still worse than the current model. If mpg on this model is not better (which it won't be except for the hybrid) than it's a worse vehicle.
@@lordflashheart3706
Worse in one aspect. Which I agree might be important for a small minority of the clients.
For me, and I own the current one, there are more important changes that I want to see.
This looks like an ugly mix between VW atlas and Ford Edge! They should fire their designers!!!
It's not terrible...but it's not great. I like it more than the RAV4, but I'm not sure I like it more than the CRV. A few thoughts 1: Why are their not fog lights inside the bronze loops on the bumper? Looks cheap just filled in plastic. 2: I am SO happy it has cooling seats. It's one of the issues I have with the CRV. 3: I'm excited for the hybrid. 4: I do like the back. It's different. 5. Piano black is soo bad. Why do they keep putting that into cars? 6: The power is down...maybe the hybrid will help with that?
Overall, I really like it. It'll be in the mix of new cars when we buy in the next two years.
Looks like a blend of three or four other generic SUVs. Nothing about it really says Forester anymore.
ford explorer vibes in the front, tail lights overstylized, but hybrid option is apprecieated.
love the videos, would rather watch this than the LA auto show video. BUT WHEN WILL THEY FINALLY INCREASE HORSEPOWER?!?!?! So tired of the 180hp....
The 2022-2023 Forester Wilderness will be the more desirable than ever I think now that this is announced/released. Last of a dying breed?
Sad and very true
Totally agree. If I could afford it I would get another current FW and stick it in storage for when it comes time to retire my 22FW. Who knows if Subaru will still be around by then? If the design looks just like every other manufacturer (or a mix of them like this new one) what's the draw for Subaru? That's why GM killed off all of their sub-brands. They all looked the same anyway, so why have the overhead of marketing all of those brands? If Subarus look just like Toyotas with Subaru stickers on them, why bother?
Look at how they massacred my boy!
Every year they somehow make what used to be one of the best looking cars, look worse
Wasn’t a huge fan of the look of the old one, and this isn’t much better either.
Subaru designers really need to do better with the Forester. The Outback and Crosstrek look so much better (not to mention the competition like Mazda CX-5)
They needed to put the same hands free operation on the Forester that they put on the Outback. Using your foot is cool but being able to use your hand in front of the logo and not having to stand on one foot while kicking the other under the bumper is so much better.
I feel bad because lately I haven't had too much nice things to say about the vehicles that's been on DSTV. That's certainly no reflection of Ryan and the crew. I still think this channel is still one of the absolute top channels on TH-cam. Sadly, I have to say that this is another vehicle I don't have much to say nicely about. Not really sure what's going on over at Subaru but they're really dropping the ball A LOT lately. Dropped the STI. No nose camera on their Wilderness Crosstrek. Designing a 2025 Subaru Explorer, etc. Again, love the video because it's done excellently, just not too pleased with Subaru lately. Looks like I'll be keeping my 2020 Crosstrek Limited for a lot longer than anticipated considering who knows what Subaru will do to the next design.
This. Cars lately seem to be just uninspired copycats of other things already out there. It's like the designers are just mailing it in at this point. Where's the passion?
Gosh they keep ruining their cars.
Finally, confirmation of a Subaru hybrid that's not a tiny Crosstrek
Going to pass for sure. Ill keep my 2020 sport. This thing is uuuuglly.
This new model is getting roasted over on Reddit 🔥👩🚒
It was getting roasted in the TH-cam live stream chat window this morning too.
Hi! I’m so glad that I’ve found your channel!! Love the vids. 🚀
FORD EXPLORER MUCH?
So glad I didn't wait and got my Mitsubishi Outlander, Love that car.
Outlander too much going on with the design. Felt they overdone it.
The Ford similarity leaves many of us cold. I would have reworked that tired old engine (yes its a good engine) for aroun d220hp. and offered a hybrid.
I always have a soft spot for the Subaru :).
I have a 2018 Crosstrek Touring. The ONE thing I do NOT like about it is that the huge screen it too big. It actually gets in the way. The graphics that are between the two analog gauges are pretty low quality. It looks like they came out of an old 8 bit Nintendo. Other than that the vehicle runs flawlessly. LOVE the headlights that turn with the wheel.
Looks like a Ford Explorer.
I thought the exact same thing.
Yeah, I'm really not loving it
Don't tell anyone, but I think the Forester design team's favorite vehicle is a Ford.
Honestly the Subaru needs to be hybrids system ,up to now only few changes but not really wow, like a i am changing my hair color in a every few weeks ,,Subaru needs new revolutionary at hybrid system
I agree for the hybrid but the looks is not the only thing I expect in a car.
I car if it is more comfortable, quieter etc.
Any chance for the 2.4 turbo???
😔
got a 23' forester, wow i can finally fit a phone in a 25' model because there is actually space for it
This new design has been well received by Japanese people. The current model's ugly front mask and crab-like taillights were criticized heavily. There are some impressions that it resembles something, but ironically, Ford has withdrawn from Japan, so the fact that it resembles Ford has not been talked about much. In fact, it seems to be much less ugly than the current model, and is being praised for its strength and solid feel. From a Japanese person living in Japan.
I'm in Australia but own and drive JDM Toyotas, so I can see why the Japanese would like it. I am a big fan of the new look and if the Toyota hybrid system drives well, I'd definitely consider one.
Interesting that for me current version is better. Because it feels Japanese style. And this new is like American car (Ford, for example), not like Japanese.
It looks good! I think it'll look even better in motion out on the road. The design is finally catching up to competition. It sucks for some, but Subaru has to increase its customer base somehow and making it LOOK competitive and familiar will definitely help. I am looking forward to the Hybrid and Wilderness models though. Can't wait to see ya'll drive this on the road and give an in depth review of its performance!
I'm pretty set on getting a Forester early next year and like this year's Sport trim moving to the bronze accents actually. I always liked the Sport trim features/value but felt the bright orange made it feel too 'young' styling-wise. Like others I'm not a huge fan of the front/grill styling but I can overlook it. The full touchscreen display scares me a bit like if after time these start working slow or less responsive. Definitely hope to test drive and compare with last year's model!
Im on the same boat as you! Holding off on purchasing the Forester until I can take a look at the 2025 model at the dealer. I like the front and side alot. It's the back that is not sitting right with me. It's giving 2016-ish Toyota Rav4 vibes. They should've kept the rear of the 24 model. The bronze also matches alot more colors compared to the orange on the 24 Sport. The interior is also better in general. The infotainment screen will take some getting used to. Watching alot more videos and I can kind of notice it's alot more responsive now. That was my biggest gripe about it, that it looked laggy on camera.
Without a turbo model I won't buy a new one. Living at high elevation the NA subarus don't have enough grunt.
I gotta be honest, I don't like this at all. It just all looks like a Ford Explorer, and it didn't help with the model inlay comment on the trunk (which is totally true btw!). I'm so sad they got rid of the orange sporty accents. The copper looks too brown to me and doesn't pair well with the "modernized" look that they're going for with all of the hexagonal accents. I do like the change in tech for Eyesight and the added cameras, but I still don't like the full touchscreen.
All that said, I'm curious to see how it drives on the test course. I do have hopes for the wilderness edition (I feel like the copper accents would look really good on the wilderness).
Makes me very very happy with my 2022 Sport
The handling and four-wheel-drive system have never disappointed, but Subaru's aesthetic concepts always leave much to be desired😂
They start looking alike all others: oval & circle😔
Great video! Love the new look in the River Rock color in this trim. Awesome interior color too! Much more upscale! Looks like a baby Ascent…that’s a good thing!
The 2.5 L matched with the CVT is gutless in the Crosstrek and somehow they think it's acceptable in the bigger Forester.... get it together Subaru!
Agreed. Drove a 23 Crosstrek Limited and it had nooooo passing power.
It's a little more forgivable with a manual, as at least you have more control over the drive train, but yeah, I agree. The CVT is shite, but the more people bitch about it, the more Subi seems to double down. Makes it really hard to remain a brand loyalist.
Okay, I don't know what you're driving, but as the owner of a 21 Crosstrek limited with the 2.5L is absolutely not underpowered in the slightest.
The 2.0 in the Crosstrek for sure struggles, but the 2.5L is snappy and responsive. It handles ice, snow, and rough dirt roads like a champ.
This bothers me so much. Yeah it kinda looks nice. Yes it looks a little “bigger”. But they had so much potential as they did with all other “new” cars. Not to mention the last forester to have a turbo was 2016 I believe. It truly seems subaru does not care about what their fan base wants anymore.
Love my Subaru and currently looking at upgrading my 2017 Outback for a 2024 Wilderness. I do find that in some ways Subaru are falling further behind with every new car launch. For example, 2025 model is finally getting full view exterior cameras for parking - multi-camera park assist is now old school and should be standard. EyeSight is still camera based and not laser which is more accurate and more reliable. No option to add ventilated leather seats to lower models - I'd love to have that option in a Wilderness model for those long summer days on logging roads. Panoramic moonroof is another option I would add if available. For their Wilderness models, it would be awesome to have a 120V converter option. Everyone will have their own opnion on styling but for me, this more boxy look takes away the sporty look of the 2024 that I like. The rim and highlight colours on the upper trim level is fuggly!
Think them being behind might have to do with how small the company is. They aren't as big as companies like Ford or Toyota.
Most cars use either a camera based systems or radar (laser is not more accurate and used by a very small amount of cars).
Do yourself a solid and stick with your 2017. I went the "upgrade" route in 2022, and almost immediately regretted it. 18 months later, I traded that in for a 2015, and it will probably be my last Subi, sadly, as they just don't make vehicles for people like me any more. :(
After multiple road trips with my dog in an outback wilderness, I'm grateful subaru skips the ventilated seats in favor of something easy to clean. And I live in Arizona. I've gotten the backseat absolutely filthy, just a few minutes with soapy water and its like new. I've had ventilated seats on rentals and its not worth the tradeoff just for a little air up your backside
I get your perspective for sure. For us, we don't have kids and our small dog rides upfront. Our backseats stay folded down about 90% of the time. We have the ivory leather now and even though we do lots of hiking, camping and hours on dusty logging roads, its never been an issue for us. The idea of having it as an option (even if it has to be ordered) means that it can be more tailored to a wider clientele. I also realize that being a smaller sized car brand and fulfilling high demand inventory would make it more complicated.
Would rather own a Subaru Tribeca. It’s ugly as hell but at least it was unique. People bought Subarus because they were uncommon. You KNEW it was a Subaru. They literally marketed the crap out of being “Uncommon” and even used the word in their ads.
This is just wrong.
It is ridiculous they are still including that puny 2.5L

I love the efficiency of the 2.5 in my 2021 but it really needs more top end power for passing.

Just give me 20hp extra HP to match the Rav4's 2.5.
Front end looks like the explorer and the rear end looks like the seltos
And looks much nicer !
Outlender mitsubishi
That river rock color is gonna make a mean looking wilderness
Barf!
Japan is a technological powerhouse
Cars, motorcycles, game machines, bullet trains, electrical appliances, all of the world's best quality, unbreakable.
Liking the look minus Subaru not bringing the digital gauge cluster to the US that they have in the UK I think it is. Time to do some upgrading. Cooled second row on touring trim, heck a hybrid system would be nice too, heads up display, standard wireless charging
Of course no engine options. I loved my 05 Forester XT. All they have to do is put the WRX engine in it. I am looking for a new car. Unfortunately, it will not be the New Forester
It looks good. The Foresters just keep getting better. My first Subaru was a 2001 SF5 I bought in 2006, and later we got my wife a 2015 (SJ) Premium, and I really liked both of them. My only complaint - and it's with all the new models - is how many controls are now integrated into the touch-screen display. For a company pushing safety, they are making us take our eyes off the road for every little adjustment. By comparison, I can completely adjust the cabin climate controls in my 2020 Impreza without taking my eyes off the road; the large climate control dials even have detents so it lightly clicks into each setting. Bring back more haptic-based controls - navigating through menus on a touchscreen while driving is not conducive to driving safety. Otherwise, the new Forester looks 🔥
Forester Touring: "We integrated all these controls into the touchscreen over here..."
Also Forester Touring: "EYES ON THE ROAD, MISTER!"
Can't really say that I agree with you on the looks, but looks are subjective.
I do, however, 100% agree with you on the touchscreen integration comments. I actually called Subi and complained about this exact thing, with it forcing me to take my eyes off the road to make simple adjustments. They were definitely "concerned". I know, because they told me so. 🙄 Yet, they continue to put the same shite in model after model... weird.🤔
@@onevoiceunheard Yeah, and with all the manufacturers doing the same thing with putting controls on the touch screens, a person can't even voice their displeasure buy going elsewhere..
I'm still not seeing anything that makes me want to go away from my 2007 Legacy wagon with a manual transmission..
@@alsheremeta Exactly. No more manuals... overly bloated with frustrating tech that you can't replace... "safety features" that you can't turn off... it's super frustrating. I just want a car, you know? I don't need to it do my taxes for me too. :(
I stopped buying them when they took away the youthfulness with the turbo. They didn’t sell many of them because they were not available. The closest to me when I bought my 2016 was 4hrs away
I guess the Bronze trim is appropriate since the looks are third rate. Not a huge Subaru fan but I was hoping this refresh would get me more interested. They could have at least distanced themselves from the herd by actually including a life-sized spare tire in all trims.
Subaru needs to include the heated steering wheel to the cold weather package, so it can be had on the Sport model as well.
I am more in love with my '21 Sport now that I've seen the '25. This one looks RAV4-ish and I do not like the new roof rails being solid. Only guessing here but I had a '17 Honda CRV Touring that had similar roof rails that had pre-drilled holes for the cross bars - meaning that you could not widen or narrow the bars depending on the accessory you install on the roof. Not that it is a deal breaker, just limiting. He mentioned the drive train being similar to the 5th gen models. Boo. I am wondering if the towing capacity has standardized with the Wilderness models. That would nice.
Not as exciting as I had hoped for. My 23 Wilderness is just awesome.
Put a better engine in it. Just bought a 24 outback wilderness. Love it, plenty of power. ❤
More passing power would definitely be welcome but I don't want to deal with the reliability issues that come with turbos.
