I have a 2020 forester touring. It's everything that my wife and i could want in a great little vehicle. Lots of space, lots of safety features for 70 yr olds like us, enough power and terrific visibility. I didn't think it could be improved on but clearly I was wrong. Love my Subaru
@@davidanderson8469 It does have the eyesight feature which is great. The placement of the camera doesn'tinterfere with visibility at all. My son has a Mazda cx90 and the visibility is horrible compared to the Forester.
I test drove the Forester Premium the other day. I liked how quiet it was. Was hoping for the Sport but those seats in the Sport felt cheap and definitely not good for Texas heat.
I have the 2025 Forrester touring. It has the digital mirror which is worthless and does not have a garage door opener. 😟 I have to use a separate garage door opener. 😟 The turn signals blink brightly on the outside of the mirror and are very distracting.😵💫😵💫😵💫 I covered it up the part that is visible to the driver with some black tape for now and that’s a big improvement. Probably going to paint enough of it black to remove the distraction! Lane centering is decent but not as good as the 2020 outback that I had. I other than that I am quite happy with my new vehicle.
The problem with those safety systems and eye sight camera/devices at the top middle part of the windshield is that, if you are on the taller side, those devices cut down on the drivers own ability to look out of the top middle of the windshield. You would be surprised at how much you use that part of the windshield to look out. They really need to make those safety devices MUCH smaller - or better yet - find another place to put them.
Yeah, Subaru is one of the few manufacturers who use a stereoscopic computer vision system. However other manufacturers with similar designs, like Rimac and some Mercedes models position the two cameras much closer together. I think Subaru just takes so much room because they locate the compute unit next to the cameras in the headliner, which takes room. Others place the compute units somewhere else other than inside the roof. There is a new EyeSight system coming around out 2027 or later so hopefully they can make it smaller.
@@xan2242 Thanks for the info.. Outward visibility is very important to me since good visibility is needed for safe driving and just driving enjoyment.. So I heard that the Subaru Forester with its more boxy taller design, and bigger windows would be a choice for great visibility.. Yet Subaru put safety devices right at the top middle part of the windshield that block the driver's (and passengers) own vision out of the front middle part of the windshield. I may ask Subaru if I purchase a Forester if they remove those safety devices/cameras.. I don't need anything blocking my own vision, I drive just fine (and safer) if I can just see out of the entire windshield..
The Crosstrek is even worse in this regard because its body is that of the Impressa, which is really squatty. I am 6’4” tall and even with hunkering way down I cannot see much of the road under the rearview mirror. Pity, I really liked the Crosstrek.
@@richardnugent7035 Yea Richard, I agree with you.. It is a shame you have to hunker down just to see.. And that is a big problem.. You should be able to sit normally and see out of the entire windshield. I'm 6'2" tall and every new or newer SUV that I sit in has just about the same problem. Safety systems and eye sight camera/devices should help make driving safer, but not at the expense of blocking vision out of the front windshield. When I drive I am always looking out of the top part of the windshield for road/street names, home/business addresses, street sign, etc, etc.. or just looking out for anything when driving.. Not sure why more people haven't complained about this.. Another thing I would like to see is that is just higher rooflines for vehicles.. My girlfriend and I currently own the 2025 Subaru forester sport. Here’s my few cons and pros with this car. (Again just my opinion) Cons: wireless charging is wack. I have a iPhone 15 it would register for a sec that it is charging then it would not recognize it. My case is wireless charging compatible but it doesn’t want to register. I had to take my phone out of my case just for it to charge. 2: I felt like the car should’ve came dual exit instead of single exit exhaust for their “symmetrical” part. 3: (putting this together) the forester should’ve came optional with just the audio upgrade itself instead of having to get it with the power lift gate, we opted without the power lift gate. The key fob is pretty annoying as they have the lift opener button, but if you don’t have the power gate that button is rather useless. I would love to see if you didn’t have the power gate that button would just pop the lift gate ajar so you can just lift it up instead of being a useless button that makes noise. 4: As many of you guys said Subaru Fordester 😂, yes it does look like a ford. 5: Biggest thing for me is the auto shut off when you’re at a red light. I understand it’s for fuel efficiency but it’s annoying as hell and puts more stress on the starter motor. Yes they have the button to shut it off, but you’ll have to constantly turn it off every time you start the car up. Pros: the video doesn’t do it justice, but the bronze looks nice in person. That’s what attracted me to the car right away. 2: the rear gave me a retro style look to their old forester. 3: Much more space. My sister and brother-in-law has a 2019 RAV4 adventurer, and my mom has a 2024 RAV4 LE though both cars are somewhat comfortable, the forester sport felt way more comfortable for longer rides. 4: the forester sounds better via engine noise. Yes we live in a time of cvt being the norm so y’all need to stop crying about it. To the untrained person when they drive the RAV4 the sound it makes is almost like a meat grinder. You would think something’s wrong with the car. But the forester sounds much more smooth. 5: Pricing, the forester sport came in at 35k~36k while the my mother’s RAV4 LE came in at 33k for a base model. Like I said, these are just my opinion on the car. For those who’s wondering why we went for the forester instead of all the other competitors is that I live in WI I like the fact that Subaru awd system is constantly on instead of the others of being fuel efficient and transferring all the power to the front and to the rear when needed. Plus it’s a more viable option for my girlfriend to commute to work. I’m excited to try out the forester’s x-mode and see how it performs in winter.
Without the Xmode the Subaru beats every crossover 4x4 in winter... That's what made my wife a Subaru lifer. We had a 2022 XV/Crosstrek which we changed for a 2024 Forester since we needed more space with the coming of grand kids. As a one who own 2 foresters already (3th and 5th Generation) i prefer 2010 Subaru forester on this one ! No more Subaru will move to Toyota Rav4
I sold my 2024 Forester Sport (boring and underpowered) and bought a 2025 MINI Countryman S All4, which is definitely not boring and is actually fun to drive yet is loaded with safety features. This car’s “Sport” trim with 1980s bronze accents looks awful. They still can’t stretch to all LED lights? Typical Subaru. (I’ve had 3 over the years)
OK, the 2025 Subaru Forester sport looks nice. I actually like the bronze it's giving Rich and don't touch my car. I would buy it. Definitely me personally I never liked minis. but I will buy a car that has a great history and was once in airplane like a Subaru so your opinion, buddy
Why a mini? Costs more and way unreliable and can't even off road or do much while not being luxury even though it costs as if it is. Should have gotten a real BMW if you wanted fast, expensive, and unreliable and high repair costs for every little thing.
Mini have poor reliability! I also saw one hit a concrete barrier and break into a bunch of pieces and catch on fire on the NJ Turnpike. That's a no for me.
Minis are not very reliable in the long run coming from someone who just sold a used 2006 Mini Cooper. The safety features also don’t work as well. Congrats on the new ride but I think that the Subaru is better in general.
Well, the forester offers more. We are getting a hybrid model. The force sport has beautiful bronze wheels and it's giving don't even touch my car. That's probably why it cost more and with a better all wheel drive system and most of foresters are always cheap. All Subarus are cheapby the prices will probably drop so no worries
@shahzadjumma3590 You are talking about a front wheel drive rav. The starting price for the AWD rav is $400 MORE than the base Forester. And keep in mind, that's for a '24 rav. You can be sure the price will increase for '25. The forester pricing here is for '25. I would say a base '25 rav with awd will be at least $1000 more than the base forester. And the forester offers much more. The base rav still has steel wheels and hubcaps! lmao The rav has disgustingly cheap interior.

lol it does seem kinda awkward
What a Disappointment, nothing new under the hood same engine as 8 yeas ago, same CVT (not fun and bad for off-road) and same fuel consumption Hello we are in 2025 !!! In fifth Gen plastics got worse and feel cheaper (everything break so easy) and the body is so thin.

Should have gotten a real BMW if you wanted fast, expensive, and unreliable and high repair costs for every little thing.
i pray for you if you have a hard crash in that MINI just sayin
Mini have poor reliability! I also saw one hit a concrete barrier and break into a bunch of pieces and catch on fire on the NJ Turnpike. That's a no for me.
Minis are not very reliable in the long run coming from someone who just sold a used 2006 Mini Cooper. The safety features also don’t work as well. Congrats on the new ride but I think that the Subaru is better in general.
$1000 more than Rav4?
Crazy
Rav4 anyday everyday
Subaru needs to be alteast 20% cheaper than Toyota
Well, the forester offers more. We are getting a hybrid model. The force sport has beautiful bronze wheels and it's giving don't even touch my car. That's probably why it cost more and with a better all wheel drive system and most of foresters are always cheap. All Subarus are cheapby the prices will probably drop so no worries
Rav4 is very uncomfortable for taller people
@shahzadjumma3590 You are talking about a front wheel drive rav.
Yes @agak61 and toyota cabs are smaller I'm looking into a forester because of that !
DISAPPOINTING, AND UGLY. LOST ITS SUBARU LOOK. SHAME ON SUBARU. PLUS THEY COST ALOT MORE. NO THANKS, GOING BACK TO VW.
Hold your steering properly while you driving
