Something about the Viper school, I dunno if anyone notice some of those relic swords in B&W are Viper school gear. For example, like Fen'aeth and Tah'rel (Which shown as witcher item while loot the diagram), both of them has snake figure pommel, and their in-game IDs are Serpent Silver Sword schematic 1 and 2, same as those steel swords like Faramond's blade and Faithful Friend. I assume they probably had related quest as designed at some point, but for some reason CDPR scrapped the idea. Besides, from the witcher wiki, the location of viper school is at Gorthur Gvaed, where Tir Tochair mountain is, and Toussaint is around that area.
My personal opinion is that Bloody Baron found a cure for Anna and kept his promise to Tamara. In the 10th anniversary video, BB looks very happy and even if almost everybody had some drinks to celebrate, BB has only some food (chicken leg?) in hand and no drink is noticeable near him. 😊 Sorry for my english
Your writing here is excellent; complex structure, expressive tone and word choice, nothing unnecessary added. I wish more native English speakers had your skill. 👍
@@johnwiks2597 I don't think Baron would celebrating with others. He is obviously happy when Ciri arrive. SPOILER ALERT about second optional ending of a Baron quest. You're killing me with these puns man, to the point where I actually feel bad for laughing XD "Depending on your actions the conclusion to the baron story leaves him hanging, not you." "It was pretty clear during her questline that she was already a few Gwent cards short of a full deck."
Yeah Letho does seem to have a lot of potential as a main character for his own spin off game especially if his main goal is to establish the school of the Viper outside the Nilfgaard's reach. Also it really is a shame that CDPR has made DLC Gerlt's time in the wild hunt.
I would like to see a a game where Letho rebuild the Viper school and you start as a Witcher in training there. I know that in the books Witchers are kinda a dying breed, since there are not many monsters left (which is not true in the games for obvious gameplay reasons) and it was also mentioned that after the raid of Kaer Morhen they more or less lost the knowledge to mutate new witchers. But its also never (at least to my recollection) explained if this is true for the other Witcher schools as well. I kinda doubt that all Witchers were created in Kaer Morhen alone and then transfered to other schools, but the concept of other Witcher schools was never really explored in the books anyways.
If you don't simulate or import a save from Witcher 2, Letho is dead. I doubt he has main character potential in the future if they decided he's canonically dead in TW3. He is one of my favorite characters though.
I hope that with Second Conjunction at the end of the Witcher 3 some older Witcher schools like the viper, bear, etc will play a role in rebuilding their schools along with the new schools
What I found glaring in Baron's quest conclusion if Anna is alive but loses her mind is Baron admonishes Tamara for trying to take Anna to Oxenfurt for treatment. "Where are you taking her? Oxenfurt? She will die in her condition!" He implies that Anna is in a such weakened state, she would not survive a long journey from Velen to Oxenfurt. But then, a few moments later, Baron himself said he is taking her to the Blue Mountain, which is much, much farther to the east. Since both Baron and Anna are nowhere to be found in Crow's Perch after the quest, it suggests the two made the journey right away without any delay, despite Baron's earlier doubt against Tamara's idea.
I have a theory that the "hermit in the Blue Mountains" that the Bloody Baron heard about might actually be Vesemir since that's where Kaer Morhen is located. It's a stretch though and there's nothing else confirming that
I like your thoughts about these unanswered questions and the way you summarised some info, it was really nice to see it from such perspective. I'm waiting for the "what Geralt would do" video with all my patience, but I'm also really excited about it!
GREAT video, Neon Knight! I've been replaying W2 recently and I'm *very* intrigued about Geralt's time as a Red Rider in the Wild Hunt and have already included mentions of this in my current fan fiction. I am really seriously thinking about writing a separate fanfic of this period of Geralt's life. There are no limits - only imagination since it's wide open and not restricted by the lore of the books. I also wondered what happened to Avallac'h after the defeat of the Wild Hunt. I expected some kind of closure or hint as well because with all the effort, time, grooming, training he did with Ciri - to just leave seems to me to be a very lazy and weak ending so I've included Avallac'h post W3 in my fanfiction as well so I can continue their stories and draw to a lore-friendly conclusion. Finding out what Eskel does post W3 is also a good story that is wide open. The journal entry says that he eventually returned to be Kaer Morhen's caretaker but in game dialogue to Geralt made it sound like he didn't ever want to come back that it would never feel like home without Vesemir. But that could have been just his grief speaking. Bet there's a good story hidden in there somewhere. I see him returning to KM. Of course - Iorveth's and even Saskia's stories should absolutely be continued and I think CDPR will really anger fans if they didn't so I bet he will be a main character in the new series. We shall see!
Wow I'm not normally this early yo neon you're content is great just wanted to let you know the dedication and time you put into making these videos is phenomenal and has single handedly got me back into Witcher 3 and it's universe and lore keep up the great work man
I’m a helpless, hopeless Witcher addict with 1,500+ hours total in just TW3, and in my most recent play-through I got the non-fatal Bloody Baron resolution for the first time. I felt so good about it that I had to stop playing for a while, just to let it sink in, so to speak. I don’t care how long it takes, I will be here for the next Witcher game and will be the first in line to purchase it. I can only hope that Neon Knight will be there, too.
Congrats! As someone sitting at 2000+ hrs, because I'm a maniac and replay every year, I got the really messed up fatal ending my first time and it wrecked me for days. Then I googled and found out how many ways there are to run this quest. I swear, no matter how many times I've done it, this quest rents space in my head for days because it's so well written.
Yes, I've played TW2 a few times. It's impossible for me to say whether or not you'll find it to be "worth it", but I certainly enjoyed it. As you can see from the other comments here, the continuity of the story from TW1 to TW3 is dependent on many of the events portrayed in TW2. If that matters to you, then you should definitely give it a go. Speaking strictly for myself, I started playing TW3 and then stopped, acquired a copy of TW1 and TW2 and played through from start to finish.
@@toolittletoolate3917 Thanks for the response man. I’ll go ahead and give it a shot. I might get the first one too but will probably wait for the remaster. The remaster will probably be amazing. Thanks again!
A huge open world with selection of your witcher school at the start with famous witchers for some of them (Letho, Eskel/Lambert) with distinctive main story lines would be superb for a next game. A DLC with an adventure story of younger Vessemir would be appreciated much as well.
First one is unlikely to happen unless you do a 20 hours long story driven action game and even that would be hard unless you go with the dragon age style. Just imagine having a massive gane like the witcher 3, with 3/4 unique characters you can choose and each of them have an unique voice actor and unique voice lines...
As a rather new Witcher fan (I watched the show when the first season came out and then started playing the Witcher 3 and I’m now reading Blood of Elves) I absolutely love NeonKnights videos. They give me a lot more exposition on stuff and even just make me want to learn even more about the Witcher. I honestly just wish he had even more content! Much love y’all!
I'm definitely with you on Letho - he's such an interesting character, I'd love to see him playable at some point, or at the very least, in a major protagonist role.

I got a big unanswered question. i just beat The Witcher 3 for the 8th time yesterday and just had a thought about something that i haven't seen anyone talk about. At the end of the game Ciri and Avallach'h basically made a conjunction of spheres on undvik to stop the white frost but my question is what happen to all of those monsters that got put on undvik? I know in game their not there anymore but did Ciri and Avallach'h accidentally repopulate the world of the witcher with more monsters. Maybe The Witcher 4 will touch on this. What are your guys thoughts on this.
I hate when games put you before your final mission after beating the game. Wanted to live in the world where everything was “complete.” If that makes sense?
That flashback at 2:33 always confused me. It shows another witcher that isn't Geralt, Letho, Auckes, or Serrit.I don't think he ever gets mentioned by name. Are we supposed to assume it's the same witcher assassin that tried to kill Foltest at the end of first Witcher game?
I think so, but there's no way of knowing for sure. Earlier in the same cutscene it only shows Serrit and Auckes, and during the (extremely long) conversation with Letho he never mentions a third Witcher. As far as I know there isn't even confirmation that the assassin was a Viper Witcher.
Oh my god. A game where you play as a letho rebuilding witcher school and dealing with all possible struggles could be amazing. It should be short but rich game nothing in the scale of Witcher 3.
thank you brother.... i just started playing Witcher 3 a couple days ago, and wondered what the hell he was talking about during a quest, talking about "getting all his memories back" ..... I was like, What happened now? Lost.
I was shocked back when the game was out about it missing Iorveth after playing to the point where you reach Vernon. Felt like something was definitely missing there.
Original plans had a full quest involving thaler, roche, ves and iorveth, investigating a catriona outbreak due to some nilfgardians interference or something like that. For some reason the quest was cut away but we still had fragments of that, such as the quest where we have to find the nilfgardian soldier who had left the army (the one found hanged).
@@RickReasonnz yep, actually a major let down when the firdt 2 games have the scoiatel playing a major faction role and especially when tw3 heavly sympathize toward nilfgaard.

Ngl I’ve played the Witcher 3 5 times all the way through. Everytime I finished it with the Witcher Ciri ending, and always assumed that the next games would focus on her. PLAYING AS LETHO OR ESKEL HAS ENVOKED A HYPE I DIDNT KNOW I COULD HAVE!!! Literally never could’ve imagined anyone besides ciri SOMEHOW!! You are legend
I don't know if this is known, but I noticed something new while playing. If you go to Kaer Morhen and interact with the witcher George mural. Geralt will comment on it.
The fate of John Natalis also annoys me, he is an honorable leader and the only one who resisted Nilfgard at a large scale. He went into hiding. But where. Is he alive? What happened? Also from his importance and how much the men underhim respect him he could be the perfect choice for the new King of Tameria
7:04 I remember that in a live of the tenth anniversary of the witcher Pawel Sasko said that they wanted to include Iorveth (one of his favorite characters) in TW3 but there was no way, since it did not fit into the story, he said.
So I played the Witcher 3 for the first time over the Christmas and I completely immersed myself in the game neglecting kids and family, then I completed everything even the DLCs and all major and secondary quests. Now my life feels empty
So if Yen new that she got released because Geralt agreed to be part of witcher, then why in Witcher 3 Yen say excuses or something like that in conversation at castle when we meet her after talking to the king????? Did she forgot that??? or it
there are so many potential characters that can be carried on in The Witcher 4, for example - Gaunter O'dimm, his bio in game said "he will return, he's always will" that is a big hint that we'll see him again in the next Witcher games - the last crone that managed to flee from Ciri - Olgierd, we saved him i think he is a interesting character so he have a chance to re-appear in the next Witcher games, we don't really know what's he doing and where is he right now - Lambert, Eskel and Letho - Baron and his family and many more
The thing with Iorweth is, he could have been in the NG version, if the NG version had actually been TW3's Enhanced Edition. They could have restored that original storyline providing us with a much more coherent Act 3.
I played the Witcher 3 back in 2017 or so and then finally got around to listening to the books over the past year. I kept waiting for Geralt to go off with the Wild Hunt and was very surprised when it never happened.
Whenever I watch your videos, I’m reminded of how much (probably really good) planned content was ultimately cut from TW3. TW3 remains one of the most densely-packed RPG’s, in terms of both quantity and quality of quests, lore, and content. Absolutely crazy that it was originally planned to have EVEN MORE quests and storylines.
What do you mean „hear more about Eskel”? Thought he had turned canonically into a mighty oak tree 🫠 Sarcasm aside, your takes on those questions sound really promising, can’t wait for the next games!
I have a couple of questions too: where is avallac'h after the ending? And i doesn't understand what is the effect of making a deal with this elf (i know that he is a wild hunt general or something) that avallac'h sends us to by portals?
I don't see the need for resolving everyone's story, The Bloody Baron's fate beyond completing the quest would be irrelevant to Geralt just as it would be for anyone in his shoes. You don't know about the fate of coworkers or schoolmates you were friendly with but haven't seen in years, leaving the Bloody Baron's fate unknown is natural, it's what would be and what we all have experienced in real life. As for recurring characters, no matter how important they were bringing them back is often a mistake if they don't really fit in the location. Everyone just happens to move to the new area the new game is in for no real reason? Why was Phillipa in that ruin? Wouldn't she have fled Loc Muine and Radovid by going outside of his kingdom rather than near one of his important cities? Why would Iorveth go to Velen or Novigrad rather than back to the Pontar Valley? Shoe horning them into the world where you wouldn't expect them to be makes for crappy explanations most of the time or just leaves the why up in the air. Side characters that are important to one region are best left in that region rather than following the player from region to region just to have recurring characters. I would much rather new characters than a shoehorned old one.
It's nice to hear 2 get some love. 3 is amazing but I feel like 2 fits the books better and in a lot of ways it's my favorite. I wish 3 had felt like it was better connected. I really hope that we get to keep on with the story. I think they could keep Garalt as the main character. Have something happen to someone he loves and you have a story. I would live a prequel. Something where he fights monsters as yhe main source of difficulty. For the most part it was easy especially in 3. A format where you do the short stories with chapters without a huge overarching theme could be fresh and amazing.
6. What happened with the Catriona plague. There is only 1 sidequest related to it (the guy who deals with plague bodies and Geralt tells him to burn his clothes or sth) + the Fyke Isle quest, as Alexander and Keira wanted to find a cure for it. That quest was also one of the first ones to be made for W3 and it wasn't tinkered with anymore until release, so it still has Catriona references. And nothing else in the game... We know for sure the Catriona content was cut, for example in the in the Devils Pit, which in NextGen was replaced with brand new blood fever storyline... that tells me cut content is never coming back, there will be no "Witcher 3 Enhanced Edition". No Iorweth, Catriona, Ciri Ice Skating or Wild Hunt...
@@GandalfderDauerblaue Not with Catriona, with cut content that isn't coming back as there won't ever be an update that even could bring it back. Even though this one is ready but was axed very late because some dev decided it was a new mechanic that players would need to learn/get used to and it was introduced at the very end of the main storyline so they deleted it from the game before the release.
I want a whole game focus on Geralt as part of the Wild Hunt. Imagine travelling across worlds, encountering amazing monsters, characters and gear, lots of quests and astonishing views. This shouldn't be something that's told in a short quest/conversation/scene.
Personally for the next Witcher game if Ciri becoming Emperor is the canon ending then I could see them having Ciri get in touch with Geralt in order to track down Letho and fix her father's mistake of not living up to his end of the deal with Letho. Then they can either go one of two ways. The game focuses on Letho rebuilding the school of the viper with a jump in time and the new MC is a student of the school and Letho has become the Viper School's Vesemir. Then Geralt shows up for a visit and he and Letho have a nice long conversation one night and get into the whole wild hunt topic. Gives them a way to finally answer questions without it being the focal point. Second option could include or not include Ciri funding the rebuilding of the school of the viper and other schools but I think the main thrust would be she has a child, Geralt is now the Vesemir style character, teaches the kid who is basically his grandson and off the game goes. Personally I like the second option only because it kind of keeps the line of Geralt/Yen and Ciri going which I think fans want. Plus there is nothing saying said "grandkid" couldn't make there way to the School of the Viper for some reason or another.
All these years later, they couldve easily made Geralt's time with the wild hunt a dlc. A follow up after blood and wine. Name it something like white frost rider or something. Idk! But it couldve been everyone chilling out in tousant at the cordova manor and geralt starts getting his memories and telling stories.
Obviously there are some intentional loose endes, which should be the case for good role play games. However, it is kind of sad how much stuff was apparently cut of which some can still be found in the game files, without ever being resumed or added post release (hell I would even have paid some extra money for another expansion with some of the cut stuff), maybe just because it wasn't ready on time for release.
A game with Eskel as the main character would be so good. In the entries Eskel and Geralt are both very experienced and excellent witchers since they are technically brothers who trained at Kaer Morhen since they were boys. I would like to see his story both past and future.

You mean the bloody baron? The Red Baron was a World War 1 pilot lmao
@@N8dogg107 Yes, my mistake... So sorry, oh mighty mr. perfect. 🙏
Your writing here is excellent; complex structure, expressive tone and word choice, nothing unnecessary added. I wish more native English speakers had your skill. 👍
Wouldn't the lack of drink imply he's still held to his oath, because he hasn't found the cure?
@@johnwiks2597 I don't think Baron would celebrating with others. He is obviously happy when Ciri arrive.
SPOILER ALERT about second optional ending of a Baron quest.
He hang himself when finds out that Anna died. So I don't think baron would be happy or even at the reunion if Anna still was mad, ergo dead as a person whom he loved.
What no love for Odrin? The man is a legend, with a thousand tales to his name, a true Man of the Road. Last I heard he was fleecing tourists in Toussaint.
"ODRIN, WHERE ARE YOU?! COME HERE BOY!"
God that side quest was so funny, i glad CDPR honor Odrin in literally every game the witcher game they make 😂
OOOOODRIIIINNNN!
Who is Odrin? Was he in W2 or W1?
@@scarofmanleavethembehind he show up or is mentioned at 3 games, the witcher 2 where he has a quest at Henselt's camp, Thronebreaker where he is mentioned by the inkeeper and finally the witcher 3 where there is tons of notes talking about him and you can actually find him at thd pier of Novigrad(although he don't have any dialogue).

"Depending on your actions the conclusion to the baron story leaves him hanging, not you."
"It was pretty clear during her questline that she was already a few Gwent cards short of a full deck."
Yeah Letho does seem to have a lot of potential as a main character for his own spin off game especially if his main goal is to establish the school of the Viper outside the Nilfgaard's reach. Also it really is a shame that CDPR has made DLC Gerlt's time in the wild hunt.
Hm.... Viper.... Assassins... Zerrikania... Basically, it'd be Assassin's Creed Origins.
Not sure why he said it's "unpopular". Letho is one of the most popular characters.
@@thelastcrow5660 I know right
I would like to see a a game where Letho rebuild the Viper school and you start as a Witcher in training there.
0:38 See, this is one of the reasons I keep coming back to your videos. That sharp wit cuts me out of nowhere when I least expect it
lmao
"A few Gwent cards short of a full deck" - love it
I hope that with Second Conjunction at the end of the Witcher 3 some older Witcher schools like the viper, bear, etc will play a role in rebuilding their schools along with the new schools
I think he talks about all the fanatics in Redania and that she wouldn’t find any help there.
I have a theory that the "hermit in the Blue Mountains" that the Bloody Baron heard about might actually be Vesemir since that's where Kaer Morhen is located. It's a stretch though and there's nothing else confirming that
Idk, only witchers go around with two swords on their back.. I doubt he’d call a Witcher a hermit
Vesemir is only present around the winter however, he only leaves slightly early in the Witcher 3 due to Kaer Morhen needing some repairs.
"A few gwent cards short of a full deck" I AM SO USING THAT LMAO
This channel is a gem.
Eskel fate is that he found his way onto a sub-par Witcher series, and got killed off by a Leshen

Whenever Neon Knight releases a video, my day is instantly 10x better.
Nah the baron hanging joke was lit💀💀💀
Being a few Gwent cards short of a full deck is simply delightful way to say someone's completely and utterly nuts

"leaves him hanging, not you" 🤣
I’m a helpless, hopeless Witcher addict with 1,500+ hours total in just TW3, and in my most recent play-through I got the non-fatal Bloody Baron resolution for the first time.
Did you play Witcher 2? I’ve played Witcher 3 a couple times. Just wondering if 2 is worth it.
Simultanious multiplayer mode with daily hunts/ coop big game hunts mode will be great as well.
Much love y’all!
you should definitely watch some of XLetalis videos as well if you haven’t. He has hundreds of witcher videos that are very informative.
having a dragon and scoiatael in the battle of kaer morhen would've been a sight to see.
I'm definitely with you on Letho - he's such an interesting character, I'd love to see him playable at some point, or at the very least, in a major protagonist role.
He stronk, he a Gigachad.

They are the vampires we usually see in fiction: basically a human who needs blood to survive, have weird powers and can live forever

@@Delta_2209 Actually in The Witcher lore (it is described in the books) higher vampires don't need blood to survive, they treat it as we treat alcohol. Regis says he doesn't drink blood because it made him do stupid shit.
I swear there's like six missions related to the wild hunt which is meant to be the main plot 😂 may as well call the game the search for ciri
Wanted to live in the world where everything was “complete.”

Hopefully they add bloody baron storyline in a side quest or maybe Ciri stumbles upon him somewhere...surprise!

The entire Scoia'tael was left out, which I found to be the much more interesting parts of the previous two games. Even Roche was barely involved.

I don’t think King, he wouldn’t usurp the throne, especially when Foltest‘s daughters are still alive.
He’s dead
Ngl, Neon Knight videos are actually worth looking forward to.
7:04 I remember that in a live of the tenth anniversary of the witcher Pawel Sasko said that they wanted to include Iorveth (one of his favorite characters) in TW3 but there was no way, since it did not fit into the story, he said.
They had plans to include Yaevinn and probably even siegfried.
So I played the Witcher 3 for the first time over the Christmas and I completely immersed myself in the game neglecting kids and family, then I completed everything even the DLCs and all major and secondary quests. Now my life feels empty

there are so many potential characters that can be carried on in The Witcher 4, for example
- Gaunter O'dimm, his bio in game said "he will return, he's always will" that is a big hint that we'll see him again in the next Witcher games
- the last crone that managed to flee from Ciri
- Olgierd, we saved him i think he is a interesting character so he have a chance to re-appear in the next Witcher games, we don't really know what's he doing and where is he right now
- Lambert, Eskel and Letho
- Baron and his family
and many more

"a few gwent cards short of a full deck"
I laughed so hard :D
The thing with Iorweth is, he could have been in the NG version, if the NG version had actually been TW3's Enhanced Edition. They could have restored that original storyline providing us with a much more coherent Act 3.
I played the Witcher 3 back in 2017 or so and then finally got around to listening to the books over the past year. I kept waiting for Geralt to go off with the Wild Hunt and was very surprised when it never happened.
Because that happened after the books, the games are about 10 years after the last book.
I thought Geralt was more like a hostage of the Wild Hunt than a member of the warriors.
What do you mean „hear more about Eskel”? Thought he had turned canonically into a mighty oak tree 🫠
Sarcasm aside, your takes on those questions sound really promising, can’t wait for the next games!
I haven't been this early since I was born prematurely
I have a couple of questions too: where is avallac'h after the ending? And i doesn't understand what is the effect of making a deal with this elf (i know that he is a wild hunt general or something) that avallac'h sends us to by portals?
The deal you make with Ge'els is so no reinforcements from the Wild Hunt can help Eredin's ship during the final battle
@@nicovelardita8619 oh ok, thank you for an explanation, it wasn't clear for me in the game
Geralt's time with the Wild Hunt always fascinated me as in I'd like to know alot more>
The viper school's surviving and rebirth is one thing i really hope for in the next game.
Love that Wild Hunt armour it should be in the game
It's nice to hear 2 get some love. 3 is amazing but I feel like 2 fits the books better and in a lot of ways it's my favorite. I wish 3 had felt like it was better connected. I really hope that we get to keep on with the story. I think they could keep Garalt as the main character. Have something happen to someone he loves and you have a story. I would live a prequel. Something where he fights monsters as yhe main source of difficulty. For the most part it was easy especially in 3. A format where you do the short stories with chapters without a huge overarching theme could be fresh and amazing.
I feel that the game brought up that Geralt used to ride with the Wild Hunt, and the circumstances around it, quite a lot more than this video implies
Imagine Letho becomes the protagonist of the next game and he gets to interact with Iorveth and the scoia'tael again
it would be so cool if the next witcher game was about letho rebuilding the school and you create your own character and join it
Does Schroedinger truly survive the incident with the other School of the Cat Witchers?
Ciri ice skating? What has that to do with the Catriona plague?
@@GandalfderDauerblaue Not with Catriona, with cut content that isn't coming back as there won't ever be an update that even could bring it back. Even though this one is ready but was axed very late because some dev decided it was a new mechanic that players would need to learn/get used to and it was introduced at the very end of the main storyline so they deleted it from the game before the release.
@@ZipperZbieracz Ok, thank you.
I want a whole game focus on Geralt as part of the Wild Hunt. Imagine travelling across worlds, encountering amazing monsters, characters and gear, lots of quests and astonishing views. This shouldn't be something that's told in a short quest/conversation/scene.
So many open books to explore in the franchise. If the whole game isn't about one of these then I think the expansion sized W3 DLCs can give us hope.
Great video, thank you.
This made my day
This man never misses.
Nice video bro!
I said Letho lived when having that convo, and he was still no where to be found when I did that quest where he was supposed to be there.
Few gwent cards short of a full deck 🤣 I gotta start using that expression.
okay i never knew i wanted a letho zerrikania game until now
All these years later, they couldve easily made Geralt's time with the wild hunt a dlc.
Your pun game is on point this episode

I would love it if Letho is the one who you control in Witcher 4 after he starts the new school
A game with Eskel as the main character would be so good. In the entries Eskel and Geralt are both very experienced and excellent witchers since they are technically brothers who trained at Kaer Morhen since they were boys. I would like to see his story both past and future.
