I wonder if PayPal is going to push this out to Venmo as well. It would be pretty cool to have 2 new debit card options for 5% cashback. That could cover a lot of ground for many people.
I just need a place to put my spend money that's budgeted instead of opening a whole separate bank account, once it's gone it's gone, so this will work for that
This is a reminiscent of the PayPal Key strategy I used for 5% back on the rotating category cards. Now it's just it's own thing. This is tempting I will admit.
Adam, I was wondering when you were going to release a video. I commented on your last video about this card. It’s a nice change but in there terms and conditions you can’t buy gift cards with this card and get the 5 percent back.

Quick Questions - Can you earn the same 5% cash back if you use the physical PayPal Debit Card in-store as opposed to through the App or Apple Pay? And are there any fees for depositing money into my PayPal balance from my current debit card/checking account (Either from PayPal or my bank)?
Does the PayPal debit card get you 5% in the grocery category for in-store Walmart Supercenter? If so that would be a game changer for me because we do most of our grocery shopping at Walmart Supercenter. I am currently using Walmart Cap 1 for online and in-store, but that ends in October. I am considering a few other cards for both in-store and online Walmart Supercenter shopping but wondered if anyone had experience with Paypal debit card inside the store at Walmart Supercenters for the grocery category yet.
It does which is fricken sick. And I saved a 5% Walmart offer through the PayPal app too. So I basically got 10% cash back with the 5% PayPal Debit Card & the 5% Walmart offer lol

I have a PayPal account and both credit lines but when I request the card? They say “there’s an issue with your account. Call customer service “ but there ISNT an issue.. I’ve been using PayPal since 2017
Thanks! i have a PP account and didnt get any emails notifying me of this (maybe i opted out?), evne when i went in the app and clicked on the debit card option it didnt mention anywhere the 5% cashback, almost like theyre not trying to promote it🤔

I would be careful when you use a funding source for this account. I would add money through one of the many places you can add cash at a small fee. PayPal is notorious for shutting down accounts because of fraud. Which means your money will be on hold for a few months.
Yes, screw PayPal. They for no reason and no warning cut my credit limit drastically. Fortunately, I have other cards with high credit limits so the pain wasn’t that hard on me. But just imagine if this was my only credit card.
@@NCKyle1980 Ahh..., Yes it has changed. Where have you been?! The cashback percentage rate for the PayPal Cashback Mastercard for non PayPal purchases changed from 2% to 1.5% as of August 1, 2024 for current holders of the card.
@@irrelevant2235 Yep? Got that in an Email. I was a bit shocked by the change. Though shouldn't be, considering they are going after folks using Discover & Cash app on the debit side.
Not sure why people are bitching about leaving money in PayPal. Just stick a hundred bucks in there and if they freeze it or something then it's chump change lost
Exactly. The odds of a freeze are small, especially if you already have a relationship with them. You’ll probably make plenty of cash back, well over $100 even if you’re eventually frozen.
That's my plan. I'm going to put enough on to cover my groceries for the week. And then do the same thing the following week. So if anything happens, it will be minimal.
I just signed up for it thinking I could just link it to my checking account that I have on PayPal, but nope. You have to manually add money to the PayPal debit card for it to be used, which is kind of lame.
@ as if having to manually add funds to the card isn’t already inconvenient enough, now you can’t use the card at the gas pump. You have to go inside to pay for gas. Why the fuck should I use this card???

Get the Amazon credit card then
