I’m a newcomer to the game, but this is my current setup: Bank of America Custom Rewards: 2% on groceries, 3% on gas Chase United Gateway: 2% on United purchases and 2% on transit CapitalOne Quicksilver: my 1.5% catchall until I get more specific cards for niche categories Gonna build my credit a bit before going for a Chase card
Also agree on using Discover over the Gold! Keep in mind that although points and miles can cover accommodation and flights, it doesn't cover taxes, fees, dining as well as those one-off excursion expenses!
I miss getting that 10% on rotating categories in the first year with the discover, honestly such a great card at the start with the basically 2% on everything as well. But even later in the game seems like a great card to guarantee 10% back. Awesome video showing both P1 and P2 together!
10:25 just a reminder, if you put as little as the $5.60 tax/fee on a CSR you have a whole Lotta cancellation trip insurance. As I read the fine print of my Amex Platinum, you must book the entire trip with that card for some coverage (not as inclusive as the CSR). Correct?
Venture X (work travel and 2X points everything else), Gemini (4% Gas and 3% restaurants), and AMEX BCP (6% grocery). This is my primary card is have in my wallet at all times.
Current set up: Dining-Amex Gold Groceries-OG Chase Freedom Gas: Amex Business Gold Travel-Venture X, Amex Business Platinum, or Ink Preferred Catch all-Venture X But right now I’m working on the sign up bonus for the Ink Cash, so all of my spending is going there until I hit it.
Can you recommend 1 credit can fit into my needs 1. I use $$$ alot on groceries, resturant, and online shopping: i use like 5K month 2. Travel 1-2 year internationally. No foreign transaction fee. I need just one card with good cash back with no annual fees. Please help me to select one.
I hate the "quarterly rotating category" cards. Not only do you have to remember which card has what categories and how much you spent on each already, but they also have some really low maximum spend amounts (500, 1500). PersonallyI I'll take a slightly lower multiplier in exchange for a much easier system to manage.
Hey Daniel thanks for all your content I’ve learned so much! I’m really curious on how finances are shared amongst a married couple and my fiance and I getting married soon, any possible content ideas around this topic?
Here's what I'm doing for Quarter 1: Gas=5% Citi Custom Cash, Doordash (Dash Pass) = 3% Flex, non Doordash restaurant = 5% Discover, Walmart Groceries = 3% BOA Customized(online) plus other online purchases, Other (non Walmart) Groceries = 9% Flex till 2/13/25 then 5% "regular" Freedom the rest of the quarter, Drugstore = 3% Flex, Utilities/Streaming/Cell = 5% US Bank Cash Plus, Chase Amazon = 3% Amazon, Catch all =2% Wells Fargo Active Cash.
Just applied the Amex gold for the 100,000 sign up points. So Amex gold for dinning, chase freedom flex for groceries, freedom unlimited for others. Citi Costco for gas and will start use Amex gold for some travel maybe.
Current set up Gas - Costco Citi card 4% on all gas Groceries - Citi custom cash 5% Dining/travel - Sapphire preferred. (May upgrade to reserve to get bonus once 48 months is up next year) Considering getting the Venture X this year for all miscellaneous things plus lounge access when me and the wife travel. Thoughts on any other cards I should consider? I pay rent to a person in the form of a check so unfortunately BILT is not available for me to get.
Thanks for the insights! Just a quick question: I have a safepal wallet with USDT, and I have the 12word phrase: ( proof inner hobby bounce blouse able donate virtual luggage cart morning ticket ). How can I send it to Binance?
off-topic but can someone explain (or point me to a video where daniel does) why exactly i need to pay my statement balance after the close date and before the payment due date? why shouldn't I immediately transfer the amount after i make each payment? for example, when i pay for netflix with my credit card and immediately transfer the amount from another account to the credit card account, why is that a bad thing?
Currently rotating an Amex blue cash and a BofA unlimited cash back, any recommendations for a 0 foreign transaction fee card for some trips I want to take this year? point building would be nice to get into, but not a huge amount of travel specific spending
How often should wait before you apply for a new card? And is there such thing as owning too many cards and what would be the limit if so? Love your vids man thank you❤
I think its good to wait at least 3 months, but also make sure to complete the introductory offers before getting a new card. The only bad thing about too many cards is just having too many to keep track of. I personally use 3-4 cards depending on the quarterly bonus.
After watching Spencers "How much I made from credit cards" I'd be interested in hearing yours from the 2player setup as my wife and I are starting to play the credit card game more this year

@@Daniel_Braun That's cool, man; I initially saw one with your wife, and then I went back to the video later and was like, where'd the video go? Haha, then I realized it had changed.
Rn I’m 21 with a freedom flex and an Amex, with like 2400$ in debt, do you recommend opening another one or handling what i have now? If so what do you recommend??
If that's credit card debt you're paying interest on, I'd recommend looking into a promotional 0% APR card for 12-15 months, transfer the $2400 over to that card, and pay off the debt aggressively. Lots of cards have this such as the Citi Custom Cash (do not make any purchases with the card once the debt is transferred to it until the card is paid off in full). The credit card game only works if you're debt free and paying off your cards. Interest kills any gains from points/miles
@@chosenlieutenant3978With a new CC, you may be able to balance transfer it at 0% APR for 12-18 months. May help pay off the debt if you're smart about it.
Lol...I was thinking the same thing. Jaw dropped at the $3300/mo for rent too. I was lucky to buy my house when the market crashed 15 years ago with a mortgage that is 1/4 of that.
So excited for these! I’m looking to combine finances and cards / points this year so really eager to see how you guys handle things and redeem!
Thanks for watching Claudia! Yeah these are always fun update videos to make, and I'll do a full video on our current 2 Player Strategy very soon

Here we go💪🏻😎. Nice update Daniel. Good to see the variety of options to cover all categories.

Travel-Venture X, Amex Business Platinum, or Ink Preferred
Catch all-Venture X

same except my discover card didn’t have the 10% cash back
Nice just realized x5 on hair salons… niceeee. Another great video Daniel! ❤❤❤
I hope discover and c1 combine there rewards points earning cards so the cash back from discover can be transfer with a venture line card
Would make Capital One one of the best setups fr
I currently have the Costco Citi, Discover it, and C1 Venture CCs. Planning on getting the Sapphire Preferred or Gold AMEX next!

More on the business credit cards too
Thank you for talking down CPP. People suffer because they think they they need to bet 5 or 6 CPP and they can't find it.

Venture X + Savor (Or Amex Gold) + any 5% category card is the ultimate combo.
I have the original savor. Best credit card in my wallet
Go with the citi custom cash for your 5% on gas

$3,335 a month on RENT? I pay $475 for my RV spot.
Let’s compare your house, and location compared to Daniel’s 😂
@wesleycoats Eastern Idaho (it's unincorporated, so not even a town) 😂 I'm about 40 minutes by car to the nearest city with more than 50k residents.

I don’t like any of these cards.
thanks for letting us know
@KottoKTG that’s fine, what cards do you personally like to use?
@ I like the BofA black card. I don’t believe I can truly afford the Amex platinum card … Im not making as much money as you.
Not liking any of these no AF cards is just silly. Why are you watching in the first place?
Well we like you
I never liked Citi. Low limits and it’s a long time for charges to Post. I have a real 797 Fico score.
