    one on one dogfight. no one beats the spitfire. :( so that's where my frustration came from while i was flying German. especially in tier 4. (109 Gs and Ks vs Spitfire late)

      Yeah in a 1vs1 the 109 pilot needs to be better than the Spitfire pilot to be able to beat him. However War Thunder is a team game, and in 2vs2 situations the Germans have the edge against Spitfires.

      The faster aircraft will always be able to retreat from slower planes, no matter how many there are. So in a 1vs1, the fight would likely be a tie. However, in a 2vs2, the faster planes can eventually maneuver themselves to pick off the enemy from their ally's 6, and they can repeat that as many times as needed until the enemy makes a mistake or takes enough damage.
      This applies to experienced and equal pilots on both sides. If the pilots are inexperienced then the more maneuverable aircraft will win easily.

    Green fury is great and he has some awesome videos, but I’ve never understood why his aim doesn’t keep up with how good he is at everything else 🤣

    Hello it's me, and I must say that I can not play with the E-4 and even less with the E-3 because of the inexisting Minengeschosse, their Engine isn't much better than the Mk1a's when it comes about real dogifights, which those 2 FF canons where designed for, I rather play the E-1 which is one of my favourite planes and my absolulte favourite low tier plane, because it god those 3000 shots 8mm IF bullets with 4 MG's, it is much superior to those shitty 20mm.

      @Asif Talpur The E1 is much more fun because of the noob players you can fight against with, especially with its 2.0 BR and not 2.7 like the spitfire.
      I am waiting for the supersonic jets to come for the german tree so I can play again because playing this game now is not fun for me anymore, tanks is still the best because the playerbase mostly isn't completely stupid like some Air battle teammates, plus you don't have to re learn 20mm aiming which is really hard after not playing 1-2 weeks.

      @Asif Talpur I also play brits and you can win with them, problem is nobody is good enough with them, but at the end, real simulator games are much much better really, try out watching DCS K-4 gameplay and learn how engines work and what parts they use, you will then know why War Thunder is a game for beginners and casuals, which is why I am waiting on the new stuff mostly and play it for 1 week and then stop it because tanks is the most casual thing that exists which is also not taking too much time.

      Stealth loadout and reserve fire to less than 400 metres will net you the best results with both MGFF variants.

    As a child I was mad because using German planes the turn wasn't the best, and always though it was something that I was missing. Now I downloaded war thunder again and I think that I passed the last three weeks enjoying to shot down meshersmitts on the spit mk. 1, an absolutely art, 3 against 1 encounters

      Yes, I used to flight a lot the German aircrafts a few years ago on realistic battles, now a few of all on the same category, specially brits and always looking for strategies, and sometimes simulator battles, try to post one some day. Love the content Adam

    I don't know, I really feel like the MK.1 Spit has not much chance againts this thing, at least from my experience flying it.
    Maybe it was just I didn't really meet a worthy enemy to duel

      Spitfire turns better, Bf109 climbs better. They are roughly the same speed.

    I have a very bitter rivalry withy friend who is an American supporter and I German.He used a spitfire mk 1 and I bf 109e3.Head on I destroyed spitfire but dogfight he simply destroyed me

    why is the spitfire a better duller? Every 109 has the speed and climb (over 320km/H for late 109s) advantage over spitfires at the same br, so if the 109s can't get a good shot on the spit it's a tie. Also (especially in tier 4) when the engagement starts over 400km/h and both planes are at the same altitude above 3000m the 109 after the head on can just go vertical at angle of around 70 degrees, use 60% prop pitch at 210 km/h and 63 at 170km/h and get a big energy advantage. Just don't stall climb at 90 degrees because they can get at around 0,80km and get an easy shot

      It's implied in the term duel, speed advantage doesn't matter when you're maneuvering.

      Late Spitfires climb very well!
      However The F4 downwards, Bf109s have the climb advantage! Also Spitfire engines are overheating half the time just to keep up!
      He should have ran the radiators at 90% the whole time and used auto prop pitch and just held wep, doing wider, faster, circles in the horizontal and high loops in the vertical...
      With an alt advantage, or in any long sustained turning situation or in any vertical looping situation, the spit will lose energy while the Bf109 should be able to maintain a decent air speed even in continuous turns, due to Wep, open rads, combat flaps, and leading edge slats.
      The Mgs should be used primarily until the spitfire attempts to turn off, at that point, lead and unload cannon, let him fly through it...
      Also, dont drop throttle if he attempts an overshoot... rather, loop upwards, retain energy and take advantage of the fact he lost his... then dive back down on his high 6.
      In a dive, take it up to 750kmh if possible- he cant.
      And in a head on, flick some shots off but then pull out of it... ultimately a spitfire is NOT king of head on's. But simultaneously, the lack of Mineshells and Bullet proof glass on the E3 means neither is that particular Bf109.
      But no seriously, I take out spitties all the time! But you must attack them like a magpie from above, looping for multiple attempts and dont go horizontal unless you intend on keeping it there long enough to sap the spitties energy which will eventually happen but probablynot before he out turns you.
      Make them chase you too, when they give up and turn, you turn and chase them... pretty much never works for them unless in later BRs

      Opposite of positive G maneuvers, it's when you pitch down instead of pitch up.

    I know people request planes for you guys to play, but I'm wondering if you could do a plane in a certain situation. Play a 109 E3 or E4, last fighter on your team with altitude advantage against few spits circling to protect each other. I never make it out alive when this happens, i can usually get 1 kill but always get shot from his teammates when I'm climbing back up or by a long distance shot when I'm zooming away

      That's very precise for a request! I'll keep in mind but I don't think I'll be able to deliver.
      The trick is to make the most enemies dive/maneuver and lose energy while you make a pass, and rinse and repeat. And your passes must be quick, ignore the greed.

      I'll give it a try tonight, thanks! Was also thinking i might just hawk above them and wait for them to try and come up to me, then loop up and come down on em when they're slow but I'm guessing good pilots would know better than to attack a 109 that's higher and faster :(
