Awesome Neil Adams teaches Kumi Kata skills.
He has won many medals and competitions, including World Championships in 1981 and two Olympic Silver medals in Moscow 1980, and Los Angeles in 1984. He has been Olympic Coach for Great Britain and now for Belgium.
He has now turned his expert hand to aiding those up and coming martial artists, providing technical advice and expertise on an individual basis.

Should be a fixed part of every training. Watch contests: 90% of the time is kumi kata. This part is basic. Great video and thanks Neil.
Hard to be positive in judo when someone is far far stronger than you, easier said than done
Not really no, you just have to understand how to counter certain grips and make it more difficult for your opponent. I'm a smaller fighter (-73kg) and everytime I fight heavyweights they have a hard time gripping with me because I've trained kumi kata so many times that its now become automatic. Certain gripping gives you advantages....of course heavier opponents are much harder to throw but even with a 70/30 grip in your favour your odds are magnified
Grip up and throw? Do you want to reinstate the yellow belt judo of the 70's: sleeve, Lapel, then dance around in a circle for a few minutes?
